  • 본 연구는 2019년부터 2021년의 고속도로 교통사고 위치 좌표를 콘존 데이터와 결합한 후 파이캐럿을 활용하여 고속도로 교통사고 심각도에 영향을 끼치는 요인을 분석할 수 있는 최적 모델을 선정하고 채택된 Random Forest 기법으로 고속도로 교통사고 심각도에 영향을 끼치는 요인을 분석하고자 하였으며, 향후 전국 고속도로 교통사고에 영향을 주는 요인으로 확대하여 분석하고 사고 심각도 개선을 위한 대안 방안 마련이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on the Cause of Death Accident between Cental & Southern Area Highways using Logistic Regression Analysis (로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용한 중부·남부 고속도로별 사망사고 원인 분석 및 비교에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 고속도로 40개선을 중부 남부 그룹으로 나누어 종단경사, 월별, 가해자연령구간 측면에서 사고 특성을 파악함으로써 유의하게 지역별 고속도로 사망사고를 높이는 요인을 분석하고자 했다. 조사된 노선 중 88올림픽선, 남해선, 호남선, 울산선 등을 포함한 18개 고속도로 노선을 남부 그룹으로, 경인선, 영동선, 서울외곽순환선 등을 포함한 11개 고속도로 노선을 중부 그룹으로 나누어 비교 분석 결과는 다음과 같았다. 고속도로에서의 사망사고 주요 원인의 비율 1위 과속, 2위 주시태만으로 비슷했으나 남부 고속도로 그룹은 요인 중 졸음에만 유의했다. 중부 고속도로 그룹에서도 졸음 시 유의하게 나타났으며 남부보다 오즈비가 1.22배 높게 나타났다. 추가로 중부 고속도로 그룹에서 주시태만(오즈비 1.477), 운전자기타(오즈비 0.347)이 유의하게 도출되었다.

  • 현재 우리나라는 자동차 수의 폭발적인 증가에도 불구하고 전체적인 교통사고 건수는 감소되는 추세를 보이고 있는데 반해 고속도로에서 발생하는 사고는 증가 추세를 보이고 있다. 따라서 고속도로의 사고 특성을 파악하여 사고를 감소시키기 위한 다양한 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. 하지만 다양한 사고 유발요인들과 사고 데이터 제공의 한계로 인해 고속도로 교통사고의 특성에 대해 명확히 규명한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 전국고속도로 3개년도(2013~2015)의 자료를 활용하여 전국 고속도로 교통사고의 특성을 파악하고 사고건당 EPDO(Equivalent Property Damage Only)를 계산하여 EPDO 값과 사고원인별, 도로 기하구조별, 기상조건, 운전자 성별, 나이대별 등 여러 사고 조건과의 상관관계를 회귀분석을 통해 분석하였다.

Depending on the results of analysis, while each point of a disaster, according to the characteristics of geometric conditions, traffic conditions, identify and determine the operating room and the adjacent intersection of media, and building systems to promote the driver if the quick initial response from the impending disaster situations and the safety of drivers can be considered secure.

Modeling for Debris Flow Behavior on Expressway Using FLO-2D (FLO-2D를 이용한 고속도로에서의 토석류 거동 모델링)

  • This study demonstrates the applicability of the FLO-2D for the influence analysis of the debris flow on expressway. To do this, the behavior of debris flow on the expressway was reproduced by applying the FLO-2D to actual generated debris flow. The study area is a part of the Deokyusan Service Area on the Daejon-Jinju Expressway, where traffic was blocked for 24 hours due to the debris flow in August 2005. Geographical analysis with GIS, hydrological analysis with HEC-HMS, and estimation of the amount of debris flow were carried out using field survey and soil property test data. Then, the optimum parameter combination of FLO-2D was selected through the parameter sensitivity analysis, and the behavior analysis of debris flow on expressway was applied. The comparison of the predictions with the observations shows the availability of FLO-2D for the behavior analysis of debris flow on the expressway.

  • Trucks take up more portions than cars on highways. Due to this, road use relatively diminish and it serves locally as a threatening factor to nearby drivers. Baggage car accident has distinct characteristics so that it needs the application of different analysis opposed to ordinary accidents. Accident prediction model, one of accident analyses, is used to predict the numbers of accident in certain parts, establish traffic plans as well as accident prevention methods, and diagnose the danger of roads. Thus, this study aims to apply the accident rate of baggage car on highways and calculate the correction factor to be put in the accident prediction models. Accident data based on highway was collected and traffic amounts and accident documents between 2014 and 2016 were utilized. The author developed an accident prediction model based on numbers of annual accidents and set mean annual and daily traffic amounts. This study intends to identify the practical accident prediction model on highway and present an appropriate solution by comparing the prediction model in accords with the accident rate between baggage cars.

  • 본 연구는 전국 고속도로별 첨두 비첨두 시간에 발생되는 교통사고 중 사망사고의 주요 요인들을 발견하고 분석하여 각 노선별 사고 특성을 제시하고자 한다. 이에 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 분석한 결과 남해선의 경우 첨두 시간에 발생되는 사망사고의 요인 중 주시태만이 첨두가 비첨두의 경우보다 높게 나타났고, 논산천안선, 호남선과 중부내륙선의 경우 모두 졸음의 사망사고 위험도가 첨두일 경우 비첨두의 경우보다 높게 나왔으며 논산천안선, 호남선의 경우 비첨두일 때 과속에도 영향을 받는 경향을 나타냈다. 특이하게 경부선의 경우 졸음의 사망사고 위험도가 오히려 비첨두일 경우가 첨두의 경우보다 높게 나타났다. 비첨두일 경우 경인선, 서해안선, 영동선 등의 노선에서도 졸음, 주시태만과 과속의 위험도가 나타났다.

Studying the Comparative Analysis of Highway Traffic Accident Severity Using the Random Forest Method. (Random Forest를 활용한 고속도로 교통사고 심각도 비교분석에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The trend of highway traffic accidents shows a repeating pattern of increase and decrease, with the fatality rate being highest on highways among all road types. Therefore, there is a need to establish improvement measures that reflect the situation within the country. Method: We conducted accident severity analysis using Random Forest on data from accidents occurring on 10 specific routes with high accident rates among national highways from 2019 to 2021. Factors influencing accident severity were identified. Result: The analysis, conducted using the SHAP package to determine the top 10 variable importance, revealed that among highway traffic accidents, the variables with a significant impact on accident severity are the age of the perpetrator being between 20 and less than 39 years, the time period being daytime (06:00-18:00), occurrence on weekends (Sat-Sun), seasons being summer and winter, violation of traffic regulations (failure to comply with safe driving), road type being a tunnel, geometric structure having a high number of lanes and a high speed limit. We identified a total of 10 independent variables that showed a positive correlation with highway traffic accident severity. Conclusion: As accidents on highways occur due to the complex interaction of various factors, predicting accidents poses significant challenges. However, utilizing the results obtained from this study, there is a need for in-depth analysis of the factors influencing the severity of highway traffic accidents. Efforts should be made to establish efficient and rational response measures based on the findings of this research.
