  • When the Mobile IP is applied for mobility management protocol in the next-generation mobile communication networks, it can cause a serious performance degradation called micro-mobility problem. In this paper, we propose ANMM(Access Network Mobility Management) to efficiently support micro-mobility in the IP-based wireless access network. The ANMM scheme can reduce the handoff latency and signaling overhead resulting in performance enhancement by managing the mobility of mobile nodes within access network.

  • In order to provide mobile hosts with multicast service in mobile communication environment, we proposed a multicast mechanism named HXcast++ which is an extended version of the existing Xcast++ with hierarchical architecture, We assured that mobile hosts could get multicast service through an optimal path regardless of their location by making DR(Designated Router) join a group on behalf of the mobile hosts, In this present research we introduced hierarchical architecture in order to reduce the maintenance cost resulting from frequent handoff. We also proposed a GMA (Group Management Agent) based group management mechanism which enables the mobile hosts to join the group without waiting for a new IGMP Membership Query. A fast handoff method with L2 Mobile Trigger was, in this work, employed in order to reduce the amount of the packet loss which occurs as a result of the handoff, We also managed to curtail the packet loss caused by the latency of the group join by using a buffering and forward mechanism.

  • The Fast Handover protocol [1] provides seameless handover in wireless If networks by minimizing handover latency, which uses anticipation based on layer 2 (L2) trigger information. Therefore, it incurs higher signaling costs compared with the basic Mobile U protocol. Furthermore, since the L2 trigger is based on fluctuating wireless channel states, the handover anticipation may sometimes be incorrect. In the case of incorrect anticipation, unnecessary buffer space may be used for the purpose of providing a smooth handover. Therefore, it is essentical to analyze these overhead costs, in order to evaluate and compare the performance of Fast Handover with that of the basic Mobile U protocol. In this paper, we analyzed the overhead associated with Fast Handover including the signaling cost and the packet delivery cost. We formulated these costs based on a timing diagram and compared Fast Handover with basic Mobile Ipv6 in terms of their packet loss rates and buffer requirements. Also, we studied the impact of the L2 triggering time on the total overhead cost.

  • In CDMA cellular system, inefficient Channel assignment for high-speed mobile host increase call blocking probability For it has been method proposed to guarantee QoS upon tn the speed of hierarchical cell that is allocated Queues and dedicated channels of high speed mobile host's speed. In this paper, We allocated the dedicated channel of high-speed handoff In FA (Foreign Agent), only if the receive signal strength of mobile host in current cell that there is low traffic in HA (Home Agent). also, we created new Circular queue LiFA (Limited Foreign Agent) for high-speed handoff call that signal strength is weak in certain FA, and had this High-speed handoff call to be ready for Life time to the new Circular queue LiFA. Thus improve the rate of the forced call termination.

  • Mobile IPv6 generates the loss of packets and out of sequencing when hand off, In this paper, We propose a improved hand off techniques using the mobility pattern of mobile nodes. As making group by presetting the moving range of mobile nodes, and putting buffer server in the group, the packet loss and out of packet sequence can be reduced. The proposed method prevents the out of packet sequence in If level which can be happened in the stable state, minimizes the packet re-send in TCP level. In the simulation, the proposed hand off techniques transmits packets efficiently by using the mobility pattern of mobile nodes.

  • Mobile IP is a base protocol to support host mobility in IP-based wireless network. It is well known that the protocol contains two main delay factors on a handoff process; one is to detect a host movement, and the other is to register the host's current location to its home network. This paper examines Layer 2(L2) handoff procedure in the IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN, and identifies these L2 triggers that can be usefully applied to Layer 3(L3) handoff. Then, the MCAA(Multiple-Casting using Anchor Agent) mechanism is proposed. It makes use of the L2 trigger and the network topology to construct an anchor agent dynamically, and the multiple-casting scheme to prevent an ongoing packet to be lost. Using a network simulator, the proposed mechanism has been evaluated the handoff delay and the packet lost point of view, in comparison with the regional registration protocol which is the most well known micro mobility support mechanism.

  • Network Mobility Basic Support protocol enables mobile network to change their point of attachment to the Internet, but causes some problems such as suboptimal muting and multiple encapsulations. The proposed scheme, combining Prefix Delegation protocol with HMIPv6 concept can provide more effective route optimization and reduce the amount of packet losses and the burden of location registration for handoff. It also uses hierarchical mobile network prefix (HMNP) assignment and provides tree-based routing mechanism to allocate the location address of mobile network nodes (MNNs) and support micro-mobility. In this scheme, Mobility Management Router (MMR) not only maintains the binding informations for all MNNs in nested mobile networks, but also supports binding procedures to reduce the volume of handoff signals oyer the mobile network. The performance is evaluated using NS-2.
