  • 정보통신 및 IT 기술의 획기적 발전으로 인해 오늘 날 우리가 접할 수 있는 정보는 그 양적 질적 측면 비약적인 성장을 거듭하고 있다. 또한 인터넷 보급의 활성화로 대부분의 사람들은 다양한 종류 및 형식으로 구성된 정보 속에서 지내고 있다. 특히 현재 웹 기반의 정보는 날이 갈수록 대량화 고수준화를 향해 내닫고 있다. 이에 반해 정보 소외계층의 한 부류로 인식되고 있는 시각장애 사용자들은 그들의 신체적 환경적 요인으로 인해 원하는 정보를 쉽게 획득하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 시각장애를 가진 사용자를 위한 효율적 웹 기반 교육 서비스 인터페이스 구현의 방법을 제시하는 것이 그 목적이다. 이에 현재 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 Screen Reader S/W의 기능적 고찰을 통해 시각장애를 가지고 있는 웹 사용자들에게 사용상의 편의 및 양적 및 질적 측면에서의 보다 나은 정보를 제공할 수 있는 웹 기반 교육 서비스의 인터페이스 구현 방법에 대한 연구를 실제 구현을 통한 그 만족도의 측정을 통해 알아보려 한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 노선선정 시 요구되고 있는 방대한 자료와 결정요소 등을 선택하여 의사결정체계인 계층분석과정을 이용하여 합리적인 노선선정의 방법을 제시하고 이를 평가하고자 하며, 이렇게 수행된 노선선정 결과를 지혈공간정보체계를 이용하여 시각화 및 분석하고자 한다. 구체적인 적용방법은 계층분석과정으로 선정된 평면선형을 분석하고 그것을 기반으로 종단선형의 설계를 종단경사 변화에 의한 다각적인 방법으로 분석하여 합리적인 노선선정을 도출하여 평가하고자 한다.

  • This paper describes the hardware architecture and implementation trade-offs of the Grand Alliance HDTV video encoder system. The implemented video encoder accepts video in 1125 line(30Hz) interlaced format, and produces a bit-stream compliant with the motion picture experts group version 2(MPEG-2) standards. The encoder processing includes large- area motion estimation and an advanced rate control mechanism. To keep the system complexity realizable, we adopt a fast hierarchical motion estimation method and developed its hardware architecture. Furthermore an adaptive perceptual quantization method is adopted to improve the perceptual quality. The developed system Is based on the 4-way parallel processing architecture and is implemented by using programmable IC, memory IC, and special-purpose processors such as DCT and motion estimation processors.

  • In the age of digital innovation based on the Internet, Information and Communication and Artificial Intelligence technologies, huge amounts of datasets are being generated, collected, accumulated, and opened on the web by various public institutions providing useful and public information. In order to analyse, gain useful insights and information from data, Formal Concept Analysis(FCA) has been successfully used for analyzing, classifying, clustering and visualizing data based on the binary relation between objects and attributes in the dataset. In this paper, we present an approach for enhancing the analysis of relational attributes of data within the extended framework of FCA, which is designed to classify, conceptualize and visualize sets of objects described not only by attributes but also by relations between these objects. By using the proposed tool, RCA wizard, several experiments carried out on some public open datasets demonstrate the validity and usability of our approach on generating and visualizing conceptual hierarchies for extracting more useful knowledge from datasets. The proposed approach can be used as an useful tool for effective data analysis, classifying, clustering, visualization and exploration.

Hierarchical Organization of Embryo Data for Supporting Efficient Search (배아 데이터의 효율적 검색을 위한 계층적 구조화 방법)

  • Embryo is a very early stage of the development of multicellular organism such as animals and plants. It is an important research target for studying ontogeny because the fundamental body system of multicellular organism is determined during an embryo state. Researchers in the developmental biology have a large volume of embryo image databases for studying embryos and they frequently search for an embryo image efficiently from those databases. Thus, it is crucial to organize databases for their efficient search. Hierarchical clustering methods have been widely used for database organization. However, most of previous algorithms tend to produce a highly skewed tree as a result of clustering because they do not simultaneously consider both the size of a cluster and the number of objects within the cluster. The skewed tree requires much time to be traversed in users' search process. In this paper, we propose a method that effectively organizes a large volume of embryo image data in a balanced tree structure. We first represent embryo image data as a similarity-based graph. Next, we identify clusters by performing a graph partitioning algorithm repeatedly. We check constantly the size of a cluster and the number of objects, and partition clusters whose size is too large or whose number of objects is too high, which prevents clusters from growing too large or having too many objects. We show the superiority of the proposed method by extensive experiments. Moreover, we implement the visualization tool to help users quickly and easily navigate the embryo image database.

  • Most of the previous works of visualization focus on representing user's relationship on social network by a complex multi dimension graph. However, this method is difficult to identify the important of relationship to focus on personal user intuitively. Besides, the content of written information by user to reflect the interrelation between users is insufficient, since most of visualization methods represent the user relationship using an amount of message and the reference of user's message. In order to resolve above problem, this paper proposes a new visualization method using the user's correlation and user relationship of network node.

Automated Development of Rank-Based Concept Hierarchical Structures using Wikipedia Links (위키피디아 링크를 이용한 랭크 기반 개념 계층구조의 자동 구축)

  • In general, we have utilized the hierarchical concept tree as a crucial data structure for indexing huge amount of textual data. This paper proposes a generality rank-based method that can automatically develop hierarchical concept structures with the Wikipedia data. The goal of the method is to regard each of Wikipedia articles as a concept and to generate hierarchical relationships among concepts. In order to estimate the generality of concepts, we have devised a special ranking function that mainly uses the number of hyperlinks among Wikipedia articles. The ranking function is effectively used for computing the probabilistic subsumption among concepts, which allows to generate relatively more stable hierarchical structures. Eventually, a set of concept pairs with hierarchical relationship is visualized as a DAG (directed acyclic graph). Through the empirical analysis using the concept hierarchy of Open Directory Project, we proved that the proposed method outperforms a representative baseline method and it can automatically extract concept hierarchies with high accuracy.

  • In this paper, we propose a video retrieval system to search logical structure and semantic contents of video data efficiently. The proposed system employs a layered modelling method that orBanifes video data in raw data layer, content layer and key frame layer. The layered modelling of the proposed system represents logical structures and semantic contents of video data in content layer. Also, the proposed system supports various types of searches such as text search, visual feature based similarity search, spatio-temporal relationship based similarity search and semantic contents search.

  • 본 논문은 모바일 핸드셋이라는 제한적인 디스플레이 환경과 입력환경에서 필요한 라우트맵의 시각화에 따른 문제점과 그 해결방안을 제시한 논문이다. 자동차 네비게이션 시스템에서 널리 사용되는 경로표시 방법은 일반적으로 노트북이나, PDA, 전용 디스플레이 시스템등에서 구현되어 있으나, 모바일 핸드셋과 같이 제한된 디스플레이 환경에서의 경로표시 방법은 현재까지 많은 연구가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 논문은 인간의 인식능력이 임의의 경로를 회전방향점(turning point)의 연속으로 인식한다는 점에 착안하여 원래의 경로가 가진 축적을 변형하여 선분과 회전방향점으로 경로를 표시하는 라인 드라이브 시스템을 모바일 환경의 경로표시 방법으로 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 시스템은 GIS의 벡터 정보를 가지고 있는 서버와 Brew 플랫폼을 지원하는 모바일 핸드셋으로 구성된다. GIS 서버는 프로토타입 정보를 추출하여 모바일 핸드셋으로 전송하고, 이러한 정보는 모바일 핸드셋의 Brew 플랫폼에서 간략화, 도식화 과정을 거쳐서 시각화된다. 본 논문은 제한된 디스플레이 환경의 경로 확대표시를 위하여 계층별 경로 시각화 방법을 사용하여 가독성을 높이고 사용상의 편리함을 추구한다.

Quadtree-based Terrain Visualization Using Vertex Multiplication (정점증식을 이용한 사진트리 기반 지형 시각화 기법)

  • In terrain visualization, the quadtree is the most frequently used data structure for progressive mesh generation. The quadtree provides an efficient level-of-detail selection and view frustum culling. However, most applications using quadtrees are performed by the CPU, since the hierarchical data structure cannot be manipulated in a programmable rendering pipeline. For this reason, quadtree-based methods show lower performance and higher dependancy of CPU in comparison to GPU-based methods. We present a quadtree-based terrain-rendering method for GPU execution that uses vertex multiplication. It offers higher performance than previous CPU-based quadtree methods, without loss of image quality.
