This paper suggest an effective idea to implement an low area multi-mode one dimension transform block of HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding). The time consuming multiplier path is designed to operate on low frequency. Normal multipliers dealing with variable operands are replaced with smaller constant multipliers which do the product with constant coefficient and variable only using shifters and adders. This scheme increases total multiplier counts but entire areas are reduced owing to smaller area of constant multiplier. Idle cycles caused by doubled multipliers enable to use multi-cycle paths on the cycle eating multiplier data path. Operating frequency is lowered by multi-cycle path but total throughput is maintained. This structure is implemented with TSMC 0.18 CMOS process library, and operated on 186MHz frequency to process a 4k($3840{\times}2160$) image. Max operating frequency is 300MHz.
The gamma-gamma coincidence measurements and angular correlation measurement associated with the electron capture of $^{75}Se$ have been carried to understand the structure for the odd nuclei $^{75}As$ with two HPGe detectors. As a result, we could determined the band structure of 5/2 state to be of 1/2 [310] band which is based on $f_{5/2}$ proton state. Also we obtained the multipole admixture in the state of 279.5keV by using the mixing ratios of $121.1{\sim}279.5keV$ cascade. Subsequently, it is determined that 25.56% electric quadrupole transition is involved in the state of 279.5keV.
To find an optimal solution with genetic algorithm, it is desirable to maintain the population sire as large as possible. In some cases, however, the cost to evaluate each individual is relatively high and it is difficult to maintain large population. To solve this problem we propose a novel genetic algorithm based on fuzzy clustering, which considerably reduces evaluation number without any significant loss of its performance by evaluating only one representative for each cluster. The fitness values of other individuals are estimated from the representative fitness values indirectly. We have used fuzzy c-means algorithm and distributed the fitness using membership matrix, since it is hard to distribute precise fitness values by hard clustering method to individuals which belong to multiple groups. Nine benchmark functions have been investigated and the results are compared to six hard clustering algorithms with Euclidean distance and Pearson correlation coefficients as fitness distribution method.
It is common to check the validity of an assumed model with the heavy use of diagnostics tools when conducting data analysis with regression techniques; however, outliers and influential data points often distort the regression output in undesired manner. Jang and Anderson-Cook (2013) proposed a graphical method called a firework plot for exploratory analysis that could visualize the trace of the impact of possible outlying and/or influential data points on individual regression coefficients and the overall residual sum of squares(SSE) measure. They developed 3-D plot as well as pair-wise plot for the appropriate measures of interest. In this paper, the approach was extended further to tell the strength of their approach; in addition, a more meaningful interpretation was possible by adding a measure not mentioned in their paper. This approach was applied to the mixture experiment because we felt that a detailed analysis of statistical measure sensitivity is required in a small experiment.

In this study, measures of distributional similarity such as KL-divergence are applied to cluster documents instead of traditional cosine measure, which is the most prevalent vector similarity measure for document clustering. Three variations of KL-divergence are investigated; Jansen-Shannon divergence, symmetric skew divergence, and minimum skew divergence. In order to verify the contribution of distributional similarities to document clustering, two experiments are designed and carried out on three test collections. In the first experiment the clustering performances of the three divergence measures are compared to that of cosine measure. The result showed that minimum skew divergence outperformed the other divergence measures as well as cosine measure. In the second experiment second-order distributional similarities are calculated with Pearson correlation coefficient from the first-order similarity matrixes. From the result of the second experiment, secondorder distributional similarities were found to improve the overall performance of document clustering. These results suggest that minimum skew divergence must be selected as document vector similarity measure when considering both time and accuracy, and second-order similarity is a good choice for considering clustering accuracy only.

In this paper, we analyze the IQ(In-phase/Quadrature) imbalance effects at both transmitter and receiver side of OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) and show that IQ imbalance is the parameter to improve the performance using ML and OSIC scheme. Especially, we can archive the diversity gain due to the IQ imbalance in multipath fading environment. In addition, new preamble format is proposed, which enable estimation of the channel and IQ imbalance parameters to maximize the diversity gain. Significant performance improvement is achieved by using the ML(Maximum Likelihood)and OSIC(Ordered Successive Interference Cancellation) with compensation compared to a standard receiver with no compensation for IQ imbalance and proposed channel estimation scheme achieves the better performance improvement than conventional.

Multiplications in finite fields are one of the most important arithmetic operations for implementations of elliptic curve cryptographic systems. In this paper, we propose a new multiplication algorithm and VLSI architecture over $GF(2^m)$ using Gaussian normal basis. The proposed algorithm is designed by using a symmetric property of normal elements multiplication and transforming coefficients of normal elements. The proposed multiplication algorithm is applicable to all the five recommended fields $GF(2^m)$ for elliptic curve cryptosystems by NIST and IEEE 1363, where $m\in${163, 233, 283, 409, 571}. A new VLSI architecture based on the proposed multiplication algorithm is faster or requires less hardware resources compared with previously proposed normal basis multipliers over $GF(2^m)$. In addition, we gives an easy method finding a basic multiplication matrix of normal elements.

We Propose the methods to design the finite impulse response (FIR) and the infinite impulse response (IIR) lattice filters using Schur algorithm through the spectral factorization of the covariance matrix by circulant matrix factorization (CMF). Circulant matrix factorization is also very powerful tool used for spectral factorization of the covariance polynomial in matrix domain to obtain the minimum phase polynomial without the polynomial root finding problem. Schur algorithm is the method for a fast Cholesky factorization of Toeplitz matrix, which easily determines the lattice filter parameters. Examples for the case of the FIR filter and for the case of the In filter are included, and performance of our method check by comparing of our method and another methods (polynomial root finding and cepstral deconvolution).

This paper presents a reliable numerical procedure for nonlinear time-history analysis of space steel frames subjected to dynamic loads. Geometric nonlinearities of member (P-$\delta$) and frame (P-$\Delta$) are taken into account by the use of stability functions in framed stiffness matrix formulation. The gradual yielding along the member length and over the cross section is included by using a tangent modulus concept and a softening plastic hinge model based on the New-Orbison yield surface. A computer program utilizing the average acceleration method for the integration scheme is developed to numerically solve the equation of motion of framed structure formulated in an incremental form. The results of several numerical examples are compared with those derived from using beam element model of ABAQUS program to illustrate the accuracy and the computational efficiency of the proposed procedure.

Seismic design forces for bridge components may be determined by modifying elastic member forces of design earthquakes using appropriate response modification factors according to the national design code of bridges Modeling technique of pile foundation system is one of the important parameters which greatly affects the results in the process of the elastic seismic analysis of a bridge system with pile foundation. In this paper, a approximate and simplified modeling technique of a pile foundation system for the practical purposes is presented. The modeling technique is based on the stiffnesses of pile foundation during earthquake. The horizontal stiffnesses are determined from the resistance-deflection curves derived from the results of dynamic field tests using cyclic loads and the vertical stiffness includes the effects of the end bearing capacities and side friction of piles as well as the pile compliances under the expected vertical load level. The applicability of the proposed technique has been validated through the some example bridge analyses.
