A Heuristic Optimal Path Search Considering Cumulative Transfer Functions (누적환승함수를 고려한 경험적 최적경로탐색 방안)

  • In cumulative transfer functions, as number of transfer increase, the impact of individual transfer to transfer cost increase linearly or non linearly. This function can effectively explain various passengers's travel behavior who choose their travel routes in integrated transit line networks including bus and railway modes. Using the function, it is possible to simulate general situations such that even though more travel times are expected, less number of transfer routes are preferred. However, because travel cost with cumulative transfer function is known as non additive cost function types in route search algorithms, finding an optimal route in integrated transit networks is confronted by the insolvable enumeration of all routes in many cases. This research proposes a methodology for finding an optimal path considering cumulative transfer function. For this purpose, the reversal phenomenon of optimal path generated in route search process is explained. Also a heuristic methodology for selecting an optimal route among multiple routes predefined by the K path algorithm. The incoming link based entire path deletion method is adopted for finding K ranking path thanks to the merit of security of route optimality condition. Through case studies the proposed methodology is discussed in terms of the applicability of real situations.

Multivariate empirical distribution functions and descriptive methods (다변량 경험분포함수와 시각적인 표현방법)

  • The multivaiate empirical distribution function (MEDF) is defined in this work. The MEDF's expectation and variance are derived and we have shown the MEDF converges to its real distribution function. Based on random samples from bivariate standard normal distribution with various correlation coefficients, we also obtain MEDFs and propose two kinds of graphical methods to visualize MEDFs on two dimensional plane. One is represented with at most n stairs with similar arguments as the step function, and the other is described with at most n curves which look like bivariate quantile vector. Even though these two descriptive methods could be expressed with three dimensional space, two dimensional representation is obtained with ease and it is enough to explain characteristics of bivariate distribution functions. Hence, it is possible to visualize trivariate empirical distribution functions with three dimensional quantile vectors. With bivariate and four variate illustrative examples, the proposed MEDFs descriptive plots are obtained and explored.

  • This article suggests two change-point estimators which are modifications of Carlstein(1988) change-point estimators with rank functions and mean functions where there is one change-point in a mean function. A comparison study of Carlstein(1988) estimators and proposed estimators is done by simulation on the mean, the MSE, and the proportion of matching true change-point.

  • The MEPDG(Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide) developed based on the AASHTO Design Guide helps engineers find optimal alternatives by using traffic volume, climate, material property, and pavement structure as its input parameters. However, because technical problems were found in the MEPDG, efforts to improve the program by settling the problems have been continued. Meanwhile, another mechanistic-empirical design program has been developed by the KPRP(Korea Pavement Research Program) in Korea. To develop and improve the Korean design program reasonably, it is necessary to analyze the MEPDG and then compare programs each other. For concrete pavement, fatigue cracking is predicted by using very complicated logic different from other performance indicators. Therefore, in this paper, transfer functions of the fatigue cracking used in the version of 0.5, 1.0, and 1.1 of the MEPDG were analyzed. Sensitivity of the input parameters to the cumulative fatigue damage was compared to each other by the MEPDG version and KPRP.

  • 강화 학습은 누적 보상 값을 최대화할 수 있는 행동 선택 전략을 학습하는 온라인 학습의 한 형태이다. 효과적인 강화학습을 위해 학습 에이전트가 매 순간 고민해야 하는 문제가 탐험(exploitation)과 탐색(exploration)의 문제이다. 경험과 학습이 충분치 않은 상태의 에이전트는 어느 정도의 보상 값을 보장하는 과거에 경험한 행동을 선택하느냐 아니면 보상 값을 예측할 수 없는 새로운 행동을 시도해봄으로써 학습의 폭을 넓힐 것이냐를 고민하게 된다. 특히 단일 에이전트에 비해 상태공간과 행동공간이 더욱 커지는 다중 에이전트 시스템의 경우, 효과적인 강화학습을 위해서는 상태 공간 축소방법과 더불어 탐색의 기회가 많은 행동 선택 전략이 마련되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 로봇축구 Keepaway를 위한 효율적인 다중 에이전트 강화학습 방법을 설명한다. 이 방법의 특징은 상태 공간 축소를 위해 함수근사방법의 하나인 타일 코딩을 적용하였고, 다양한 행동 선택을 위해 룰렛 휠 선택 전략을 적용한 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이 방법의 효과를 입증하기 위한 실험결과를 소개한다.

Nonparametric estimation of hazard rates change-point (위험률의 변화점에 대한 비모수적 추정)

  • The change of hazard rates at some unknown time point has been the interest of many statisticians. But it was restricted to the constant hazard rates which correspond to the exponential distribution. In this paper we generalize the change-point model in which any specific functional forms of hazard rates are net assumed. The assumed model includes various types of changes before and after the unknown time point. The Nelson estimator of cumulative hazard function is introduced. We estimate the change-point maximizing slope changes of Nelson estimator. Consistency and asymptotic distribution of bootstrap estimator are obtained using the martingale theory. Through a Monte Carlo study we check the performance of the proposed method. We also explain the proposed method using the Stanford Heart Transplant Data set.

  • A weighted linear combination of seismic fragility models previously developed for cut-and-cover railway tunnels was presented and the appropriateness of the combined model was evaluated. The seismic fragility function is expressed in the form of a cumulative probability function of the lognormal distribution based on the peak ground acceleration. The model uncertainty can be reduced by combining models independently developed. Equal weight is applied to four models. The new seismic fragility function was developed for each damage level by determining the median and standard deviation, which are model metrics. Comparing fragility curves developed for other bored tunnels, cut-and-cover tunnels for high-speed railway system have a similar level of fragility. We postulated that this is due to the high seismic design standard for high-speed railway tunnel.

  • This article is concerned with the goodness - of - fit test for exponentiality when both the scale and location parameters are unknown. A test procedure based on the $L_1$-norm of discrepancy between the cumulative distribution function and the empirical distribution function is proposed, and the critical values of the test statistic are obtained by Monte Carlo simulations. Also the null distributions of the proposed test statistic are presented for small sample sizes. The power of tests under certain alternative distributions is investigated to compare the proposed test statistic with the well-known EDF test statistics. Our Monte Carlo power studies reveal that the proposed test statistic has good power properties, for moderate-to-large sample sizes, in comparison to other statistics although it is a conservative test.

  • The primary objective of this study is to characterize traffic axle loadings that consider Korea specific traffic conditions for developing mechanistic-based pavement design method as a part of Korea Pavement Research Program(KPRP). Although the concept of equivalent single axle load(ESAL) has been generally used since the 1960s for the pavement design, the mechanistic-based pavement design procedure requires more accurate axle loading data on the specific pavement. In this study, axle loading data were collected according to vehicle type and highway functional classification. Axle-load spectrum was then standardized by cumulative density function(cdf), because the axle load spectrum could vary from the observed site, truck traffic volume, and truck type, Finally, this study presented the procedure and S-shaped exponential models for characterizing axle load spectra according to vehicle type and highway functional classification.

The estimation of the number of spare parts & the changing time about DSRC Road Side Equipment (단거리전용통신방식 노변기지국의 예비부품수 및 교체시기 산정)

  • 현재 국내 ITS는 현장장비 유지관리에 대한 연구 및 고장관련 DB가 부족하여 예비부품수 및 교체시기 산정에 대한 규정이 없는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 실제 고장이력자료를 갖고 신뢰성 분석을 실시하여 단거리전용통신(DSRC)방식 노변기지국(RSE)의 예비부품수 및 교체시기를 산정하였다. 전체 수집기간동안의 고장자료는 욕조곡선의 형상을 나타내어 우발고장기간의 자료로 신뢰성 분석을 실시하였으나 고장 수명 분포 중 적합되는 분포가 없었다. 따라서, i)장비가동률과 ii)경험적(empirical) 누적분포함수(CDF) 곡선을 이용한 장비의 고장률(건/일)을 감안하여 예비부품수를 산정한 결과 16.22개 이상의 노변기지국(완제품)을 확보하여야 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 하자보수기간(2년)이 지난후 일정기간($2{\sim}3$년)이 지난 시점에서 향후 10년간에 대하여 수리하면서 사용하는 경우와 신품구입시의 총비용을 비교하여 산정한 교체시기는 10.67건/40개월 이상이다. 본 연구 수행결과 첫째, 비모수적 방법으로 적합도 검정을 실시하지 못하였다는 한계와, 둘째, 초기에 고장이 많이 발생하는 장비는 향후에도 고장이 많이 발생한다는 가정에 기반하여 향후 10년의 운영비용을 분석하였으나 이러한 가정을 입증하지는 못하였다. 따라서, 향후엔 본 연구에 사용된 자료가 고장 수명분포도 적합 되지 않은 원인을 분석하는 것과 분석대상 기간 이후의 자료를 추가하여 적합도 검정 및 신뢰성 분석을 실시하는 것이 필요하다.
