As school violence gets serious, the school system created the local board against school violence in order to respond to school violence effectively. Yet, there are not many studies about the effectiveness of the local board against school violence. A few studies investigated teachers' perception about the local board while the information about the school resource officers' perception is not known much. The current study surveyed school resource officers about their perception towards the function of the local board, its member, and the response of the principal to school violence. Participants are the school resource officers working for the four metropolitan police agencies(Seoul, Kyunggi, Busan, and Ulsan) in Korea, and were asked to answer to structured and open-ended questions. The results indicated that the officers thought the local board did not very well for the function of protecting the victim's rights. In addition, they believed that the participation of parents needs to be limited in the membership, and more experts should be included in the membership of the local board. They also thought the principals should be tough in dealing with school violence. The discussion includes ideas about improving professionalism of the membership and making changes on the related regulations.

The purpose of this study was to develop and examine the effect of the Health Promotion Education Program for the Auxiliary Police based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED Model. This study was conducted using a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Twenty-five participants were selected by convenience sampling method and assigned to the experimental group, and 26 participants were assigned to the control group. The data were collected from Auxiliary Police officer in D provincial Police Agency. All of participations completed questionnaires about self-efficacy, social support, availability of resources, health promotion behavior, quality of life and received the objective stress test. In addition, the experimental group completed 7 sessions of health promotion Education programs according to PRECEDE-PROCEED model for 5 weeks. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 Program. There was significant differences over time between the groups in terms of health promotion behavior (F=7.63, p<.001), autonomic nervous activity (F=29.24, p<.001), stress resistance (F=31.22, p<.001), stress index (F=22.42, p<.001), fatigue (F=12.87, p<.001), and quality of life (F=3.49, p=.042). The results may be crucial to develop strategy in order to decrease the disease prevalence as well as increase the participants' overall quality of life. As a result, the Health Promotion Education Program for the auxiliary police was proved to be an effective intervention in order to improve the quality of life. Therefore, the program may be a useful intervention for the auxiliary police.

Profiling is recognized as a representative application area of domestic criminal psychology, and the National Police Agency profiler is firmly established as a profession. However, compared to the social awareness, the recognition and utilization within the police is not high. In this study, we tried to identify factors affecting the intention to use profiling by identifying the perception of investigators who request and use profiling from a profiler when a violent incident occurs. To this end, the relationship between the perception of the importance of factors considered by investigators in the criminal investigation process and the attitude toward profiling on the intention to use profiling was verified through the path model. As a result of a survey of 340 police investigators, the investigator's perception of the importance of investigation elements was divided into two factors: the importance of normative investigative elements (evidence collection and legal judgment, etc.) and factual investigative elements (criminal analysis, criminal information system analysis, etc.). Among them, the importance of factual investigative elements were found to have a positive effect on the intention to use it by mediating the attitude toward profiling. On the other hand, in the case of the importance of normative investigative elements, it was found to have a negative effect on the attitude toward profiling. These results suggest that the perception that investigators have about investigation, which is their main work area, plays a role in determining whether to request profiling as well as attitude towards profiling. Based on the research results, strategies necessary to activate the use of profiling were discussed.

화재발생시 경찰, 소방 등 행정관서는 현장통제 초동조치, 응급구조 진화작업, 화재조사 및 수사, 화재증명 발급 및 통계작성, 피의자(원인 제공자) 입건 및 송치를 담당하고 있고, 검찰청은 수사보완 및 기소, 법원은 형사 및 민사재판을 진행하게 됨으로써 책임과 보상관계를 판가름하게 된다. 물론 이재관계자의 합의, 화재보험 등으로 피해보상을 받기도 하나 모든 것이 국민으로부터 나온 것이고, 국민을 볼모로 하여서는 않되므로 화재원인의 명쾌한 규명으로 유사사고의 재발방지를 위한 연구가 필요하다.

오늘날 자율운항선박의 성능시험이 관제구역 내에서 시행되고 있으며 상용화를 앞두고 있다. 국제항로표지협회(IALA)에서는 자율운항선박 관제에 관한 지침을 마련하고 있으며 외국의 사례를 고려하였을 때 자율운항선박의 성능시험 단계부터 VTS의 참여 및 개입은 해상교통안전을 위하여 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 따라서 관제구역 내 해상교통안전을 도모하고 비상 상황 시 효과적으로 대응할 수 있도록 자율운항선박을 고려한 선박교통관제에 관한 제도적 개선방향을 제시하였다.

According to the recent statistics of Korean National Police which analyze the present status on the rate of the traffic accidents and their effects in Korea, the number of casualties by traffic accidents of 2004 amounted to 6,563, which means that the average number of casualties per 10,000 vehicles is 3.99. The figure of 3.99 is much larger than 1.85 of U.S.A, 1.10 of Japan, 1.14 of U.K., and 1.23 of Germany. The number of registered vehicles of Korea is steeply increasing since 1997 when it reached 10,000,000. Since then, the number of annual increase is estimated at 860,000 except for the year 1998 when the Korean economy was under the control of IMF, and over 14 million vehicles are registered as of the end of the year 2004. With the increase of vehicles, the violations of traffic rules, crimes using vehicles, car thefts, etc have been imposing a lot of serious problems on our society. On this thesis, we are aiming at analyzing some characteristics of traffic accidents reported to the police and suggesting some kinds of the police activities for securing the safety of the transportation. This study was carried out in order to identify oral health knowledge according to police officers' oral health behaviors. The questionnaire survey was conducted targeting 237 police officers in Gwangju. A tool used general characteristics, oral health knowledge, oral health behavior and oral health education needs. The analysis was processed with descriptive statistics, t-test, Anova and regression analysis. As a result, the oral health knowledge was high in a person of using oral hygiene products and in a person of experiencing a visit to dental clinic(p<0.001). The desired the oral health education were a specialist's direct verbal explanation and the correct tooth-brushing method. Also, marital status, educational level, smoking status, using oral hygiene products and Dental visit experience were identified to have influence upon a oral health knowledge (explanatory power, 40.5%). Hence, the results of this study will be able to be applied to basic data in case of developing an oral health education program and planning a dental health project for enhancing oral health in police officers.

Humans technological advancements have resulted in the depletion of whale resources. Accordingly, the International Whaling Commission was established to preserve whale resources and ensure the orderly development of the whaling industry. After a commercial whaling moratorium came into effect, the international trade of whale meat and related products was banned. However, There is a systematic activity through illegal remodeling ships because whales incidentally caught may be distributed in Korea and have a significant economic benefit. Although suspected illegal whaling is actively cracked down, but it is still insufficient to prevent illegal whaling and distribution. To prevent this, stereoscopic crackdowns utilizing air forces and patrol ships are effective, and it is necessary to quickly separate the captured ship and crew to prevent the destruction of evidence. For the transparent distribution of whale meat, it is necessary to advance related technologies such as whale species identification and individual identification of forensic science institutions based on whale DNA database of the National Institute of Fisheries Science. Accordingly, the Korea Coast Guard Research Center is directly conducting research on related national R&D project. To increase the efficiency of identifying whale-related evidence at crime scene, a rapid test kit that responds specifically to whale bloodstrains is developing and evidence transport packs are manufacturing and distributing, while identification technologies are also being advanced.
