  • An Edutainment Contents help the learners to recognize the problems effectively, grasp and classify important information needed to solve the problems and convey the contents of what they have learned. Owing not only to this game-like fun but also to the educational effect, The Edutainment contents can be usefully applied to education and training in the areas of scientific technology and industrial technology. This study proposes the Edutainment that users can apply to biotechnology by using intuitive multi-modal interfaces. In this study, a stereoscopic monitor is used to make three dimensional molecular structures, and multi-modal interface is used to efficiently control. Based on the system, this study easily solved the docking simulation function, which is one of the important experiments, by applying these game factors. For this, we suggested the level-up concept as a game factor that depends on numbers of objects and users.

A Study on the Validation of Destructive Leadership Scale of Local Police Manager (지역경찰 현장관리자의 파괴적리더십 척도의 타당성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the validation of the Korean-type destructive leadership scale in order to activate the leadership research of local police manager in Korea. For the purpose of this study, the entire police officer(under the rank of sergeant) working at the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency in 2017 was set up as the population. A proportional allocation sampling was used for the sampling, and the allocation standard was set up in the workplace, department, rank, and sex. Data collection was conducted from April 1, 2017 to April 30, 2017, for a total of 500 respondents, and 433 were finally used for actual analysis. In the study, reliability and validity of destructive leadership scale were verified through reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis. As a result, the destructive leadership scale of Korean local police manager showed a high cronbach' ${\alpha}$ coefficient of 0.948 for the questionnaire related load and 0.974 in the questionnaire related organization, but, the model fit of confirmatory factor analysis was low. Therefore, through additional exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, we reconstructed 6 questionnaires by deleting 4 questionnaires among the load-related items. On the other hand, the organization-related items were verified to be appropriate for all of the existing 10 items, and the destructive leadership scale of Korean local police manager was finally reconstructed into 16 items with 2 factors. This study also confirmed that the above reconstruction model is statistically suitable. The destructive leadership scale of Korean local police manager can be used as the basic data of leadership research to be conducted in the future.

A Comparative Study of the Security Prevention Strategies on Arson: Focused on the Behavioral Characteristics between Serial Arsonists and Simple Arsonists (방화범죄의 경비예방 전략에 관한 비교연구 - 연쇄방화범과 단순방화범의 행위적 특성을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare with the general and behavioral characteristics between simple and serial arsonists using the data derived from Scientific Crime Analysis System, Criminal Filing Search System, and Crime Information Management System. The analysis and findings reported here are derived from data extracted from 160 arsonists arrested by police officer. The independent variables included such socio-economic characteristic as arsonists' gender, age, occupation, education level, and previous criminal records of arsonists, and finally the general characteristics of the scene of fire settings. The dependent variable is whether or not serial fire setter. To achieve the purpose, the analysis of frequencies and cross-tab were conducted. According to frequence and cross-tab analysis, there are great differences of the general and behavior characteristics between two groups. In the comparison of simple and serial arsonists, serial arsonists are more likely to have previous criminal records, low socio-economic status, unmarried and no cohabitants than simple arsonists. furthermore, serial arsonists are more likely to use garbage papers for fire setting in the scene of the crime, to have mental or psychological problems, and to get involved in fire setting for the psychological pleasure than simple arsonists do. The present research has some obvious limitations. First, the analysis is based only on arsonists arrested by police officers. These may be considerable differences in arsonists arrested by police officers and fire setters not arrested by them. Additional research is needed to assess the extent to which these findings would apply to fire setters not arrested by police officer in Korea. Secondly, the data in this study are cross-sectional and simple cross-tab analysis are used. Potential limitation of cross-sectional data concerns the inability to specify the changes in measures as arsonists behavioral characteristics. Therefore, further studies need to use longitudinal data and more complicate statistical techniques such as correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, or LISREL models to specify the casual relationships between dependent and independent variables for fire settings. Even if this study has some limitations, it is meaningful in which it first investigated the comparison of simple and serial arsonists focusing on the general and behavioral characteristics between two groups in Korea.

  • Preventive measures and control over cyber terrorism in Korea is a complex problem. Today laws should meet requirements made by modern technologies development, Law enforcement, special services and judicial system cooperation, their efforts coordination and their material security are priority directions, None of the country is able to prevent cyber terror independently and international cooperation in this field is vital. Taking the above into consideration, we propose and inisit that National Intelligence Service(NIS) should share cyber terror data with Police Agency and have top police authority over the cyber terror.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationships among knowledge management system(KMS) quality, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, and continuance use of KMS. The results of data analysis by structured equation model(SEM) indicate that KMS quality significantly influences individual's perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Perceived ease of use affects individual's perceived usefulness on KMS. Individual's perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness affect on the creation of a positive attitude, and attitude affects continuance use of KMS. Based on the results, theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed.

  • According to viewpoints of researchers and stakeholders, various opinions can be suggested on self-governing police system. Therefore, success of Korean self-governing police system will be defending on how to balance among conflicting values such as Empowerment, Political neutrality, Financial issues, Comprehensive competence in maintaining public safety. Before the launching of self-governing police system nation-wide, the experience of Jeju provincial police will be valuable model case. In specific, enlargement of work scope of self-governing police in Jeju province which has been introduced since last year will be a useful reference. There is more pessimism about self-governing police of Jeju province so far. However, this perspective is mostly based on the issue regarding hardwares such as manpower, equipment, law and organization. Issues regarding softwares such as organizational culture, operation system and work process need more attention to evaluate self-governing police system properly. To mark the first year after enlargement of work scope of Jeju police, this study demonstrate the overall result and implications of self-governing police of Jeju province based on documents, statistics, reports and media reports. In result, several preconditions are needed to implement the self-governing police system nation-wide successfully. 1. Strengthen the link between local government and local police 2. Establish the foundation for collaboration of state and local police 3. Enhance the aspect of citizen autonomy in local level 4. Reinforcing the capability of handling situation of state and local police 5. Invigorating the inter-organizational working group to operate self-governing police system effectively. The self-governing police system is unclosed topic to discuss. After this study, in-depth studies should be followed with more resources. Particularly, additional perspective including redundancy and equity need to be considered regarding self-governing police. By getting with the changes of macroscopic trends - lowbirth and aging, the fourth industrial revolution and possible reunification of north and south Koreas - these studies should suggest the long-term blueprint of self-governing police system of Korea.

A Representation Method for Official Statistical Data (공식통계자료의 표현방법)

  • 공공기관에서 발간하는 공식통계자료들을 살펴보면 대부분 관찰값으로 총 빈도수나 또는 전체를 기준으로 하여 그 빈도수가 차지하는 퍼센트 그리고 지수 등으로 나타나 있다. 이러한 자료는 단순히 공무원들에게 행정용으로 활용되고는 있으나 일반인들이 자료를 이해하고 나아가 활용하기는 어렵다. 이런 자료들이 일반인을 위한 자료가 되기 위해서는 국민 한사람(또는 기본 단위)당 그 발생 확률을 구하여 제시하고 나아가 개개인의 여러 복잡한 현실 상황을 고려해도 그 확률 계산이 용이하도록 기초적인 자료를 제공하는 것이 바람직하다고 사료된다. 즉, 육하(六河)원칙을 근거로한 현상에 대하여 확률을 구하고 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. 이 논문에서는 경찰청에서 발표된 교통사고에 대한 통계자료와 대검찰청에서 발표된 범죄사건 통계자료를 통계학의 기본인 확률의 개념을 도입하여 보다 이해가 쉽고, 나아가 교통사고와 범죄 피해를 최소한으로 줄일수 있는 자료로 변환하여 설명하고자 한다.

정보보호산업 육성정책의 시스템 다이내믹스 분석

  • 인류 역사를 획기적인 기술혁명을 기준으로 대별할 때, 정보화 혁명을 농업혁명과 산업혁명에 이은 제3의 혁명으로 간주한다. 흥미로운 것은 급속한 기술발전은 긍정적 효과와 더불어 이에 상응하는 부정적 효과를 동반해 왔다는 것이다. 현 시점에서 가시적으로 가장 심각하게 부각되고 있는 정보기술혁명의 부작용은 컴퓨터 바이러스와 해킹에 의한 피해로 나타나고 있다. 2000년의 바이러스 발생건수는 572건이고, 특히 Nimda 바이러스가 출현했던 2001년 9월에는 그 피해사례 접수만도 12,054건에 이르렀다. 또, 2001, 2002년 해킹사고 누적건수는 각각 10,526건과 14,065건으로, 2000년의 해킹사고 총괄 누계인 449건과 비교할 때 23,443%와 31,325%의 급격한 증가세를 보이고 있다(경찰청 사이버테러 대응센터 2003, 황성원 2002, 정보통신부 2001). 이외에도, 정부기관이나 민간기업의 전산시스템에 불법으로 침입하여 정보를 도용하거나, 전산시스템을 마비시키는 등 다양한 형태의 부작용들로 증가 추세에 있다(CERTCC-KR, 2002).(중략)

  • 2009년 경찰청 통계자료에 따르면 교통사고 사망자 중 안전 운전 불이행, 중앙선 침범, 신호 위반, 안전거리 미확보 등 운전자의 부주의에 의해 이루어진 사고가 약 90%이상을 차지하고 있어 심각한 사회적 경제적 문제를 초래한다. 이러한 운전자의 운전습관 개선 및 안전운전에 대한 사회적 요구, 사고 기록 등의 요구에 부응하기 위하여, 디지털 주행기록계 차량용 블랙박스 등 다양한 형태의 시스템이 사용되고 있으나, 이러한 시스템은 사고 후 차량데이터를 기반으로 위험운전여부를 분석하여 운전자를 관리하기 때문에 실시간으로 운전자를 관리하기에는 큰 한계가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 3축 가속도 센서와 GPS를 사용하여 위험운전 여부를 판단하고, 그 결과를 계수화하여 운전자의 정숙 운전 지수를 계산하여 보여줌으로써, 안전 운전과 급정차 급출발에 따른 연비 악화를 개선할 수 있도록 한다.

Study of Occurrence Tendency and Cause Analysis of Arson (방화의 발생추이와 원인분석)

  • Arson is one of the serious crime. It shows high increasing rate compared with the past, and the causes of arson are getting diversified and specialized in this modern society. In this thesis, the actual state and tendency of arson during latest 5 years have been analyzed on the basis of 'crime analysis' which is material of the National Police Agency. Based on the above analyzed material, measures for arson in foreign countries are examined and necessary matters to counter arson in Korea are inferred.
