A Study on the Impact of CSR Activities and Risk Management on the Corporate Image and Sustainability of Financial Services Companies (금융서비스 기업의 CSR 활동과 리스크 관리가 기업 이미지와 지속가능성에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Unlike in the past, the environment related to CSR activities of financial services companies changed, such as lower interest rates, easier access to knowledge and the environment for risk management of financial services companies changed, including global economic instability, increased regulations, and exposure of new technologies associated with operating methods. This study examined the effects of CSR activities and risk management on sustainability and mediating effects of corporate image among financial service companies. The result of the study are as follows. First, the CSR's legal responsibilities, management in disaster risk and strategic risks of financial service enterprise have positive effect on sustainability, however, the management of CSR's ethical responsibilities, discretionary responsibilities, operational and financial risks have shown to have negative effect Second, CSR's legal responsibilities, discretionary responsibilities and the management of disaster risks act as mediating role between corporate image and sustainability. As a result, when financial service enterprises concentrate on managing CSR's Legal responsibilities and disaster risks, it was found that the corporate image improves and enhancement of sustainability.

Eine Untersuchung ueber das Haus als das Mitte des Lebens und seine philosophische Bedeutung (삶의 중심으로서의 집과 그 철학적 의미에 대한 연구)

  • In dieser vorliegenden Arbeit wird die eigentliche Bedeutung des Hauses in bezug auf M. Heidegger, G. Bachelard und O. F. Bollnow analysiert. Bei Heidegger ist das Wohnen ein Wesensmerkmal des Menschen und das Haus ein Raum des Wohnens als das Pflegen und Schonen. Insbesondre Bachelard hat die schuetzend Funktion des Hauses und das Haus als das Glueck des Wohnens behauptet. Fuer Bollnow bedeutet das Haus eine Mitte des menschlichen Lebens und der Welt. Heidegger behauptet, dass wir so in der eigentlichen Not des Wohnens, d.h. in der Heimatlosigkieit sind. Wir muessen nach die Bedeutung des Hauses nicht als einen wirtschaftlichen Wert sondern als den eigentlichen Wohnraum denken und das Wohnen lernen. Bachelard weist darauf hin, dass das Haus als ein gluekliche Raum ein wesentliches Trauen voraussetzt. Und er versteht das Haus mit dem dialektischen Zusammenhang zwischen dem Haus und der Welt. Bollnow versucht ueber dem Raum in anthropologische Hinsicht zu betrachten. Er behauptet, dass der Mensch seine wesentlichen Bedeutung durch das Wohnen hat. Durch die Vermenschlichung des Raumes muss der Mensch die Verantwortlichkeit ueber den Raum uebernehmen. In der heutigen Gesellschaft bemessen das Haus sich nur mit einem wirtschaftlichen Wert. Wir muessen das Haus lesen, und die eigentliche Bedeutung des Hauses.

  • 2020년은 급격한 인구감소, 고령화, 대도시 인구집중 등 우리나라의 인구구조변화가 급격하게 진행되는 것을 보여주는 해였다. 2020년 주민등록인구수가 처음으로 감소하였으며, 2020년을 기점으로 수도권 인구가 비수도권 인구를 추월할 것으로 전망되었다(통계청, 2020.6). 인구감소, 도시인구 집중화 외에도 1-2인의 소규모 가구 증가 등의 인구구조변화도 진행되고 있다. 이러한 인구구조 변화는 우리나라의 잠재적 경제성장률 등 국가경제뿐만 아니라, 지역별 물이용 변화 등 다양한 공공서비스 수요패턴 및 관련 재정 등에도 영향을 미친다. 이는 공공서비스 공급 및 관련 인프라 유지·관리에도 영향을 미치게 된다. 특히 중소지역의 공공서비스 사업의 경우, 인구감소로 인한 공공서비스 수요 및 관련 재정수입의 감소로 사업의 지속가능성이 크게 약화 될 수 있다. 따라서 인구구조변화가 공공서비스 수요에 미치는 영향을 분석하여, 관련 인프라시설의 유지·관리에 미칠 영향을 진단해 볼 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 인구구조 변화가 공공서비스 중 물관리에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 정량적으로 분석해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 160개 지방자치단체의 2006~2018년까지의 패널 자료를 구성하여 인구구조 변화 특성 중 인구 규모 변화, 소규모 가구 수의 변화, 인구 연령대 변화(고령화)가 물이용 변화에 미치는 영향을 회귀분석을 통해 중점적으로 분석해보았다. 본 연구의 인구구조 변화에 따른 공공서비스 이용변화에 대한 정량적 분석결과는 공공서비스 운영·관리 시 참고할 수 있을 것이다.

  • According to F. Nietzsche and A. N. Whitehead, the fatal error of the modern Western ontology is to mistakenly assume that the structure of reality is the same as the structure of language, and to misplace the fictional linguistic subject as a realistic subject. This fictional concept of the subject is the concept of person. This paper will analyze how this fictional concept of person forms the basis for the development of modern finance. The historical period and place of analysis of the paper is England in the late 17th century. At this time and place, the modern form of banking began, and the concept of person was developed philosophically by English intellectuals, especially by John Locke. And at the same time, joint-stock companies and the English nation state acquired their independent abstract personhood. The fictional concept of person has reduced social relations to "exclusive property rights" and "creditor-debtor relations," and this reduction forms the ontological basis of modern finance. In modern finance where property rights and creditors' rights are mixed, property owners excercise exclusive property rights but avoid responsibility for the exercise by being transformed to creditors. Furthermore, property owners' privilege were extended when the modern groups-joint-stock companies and the nation state-who are endowed with eternal and independent personhood are reduced to debtors for the property owners.

Diagnosis and Proposition on CSR by MNCs in China (다국적기업의 중국시장 사회적 책임 활동에 대한 진단과 제안)

  • This study was designed to suggest the effective CSR strategies for MNCs operating in Chinese market. For this purpose, it compares the multi-years results for the evaluation on CSR activities of Multinational and Chinese firms. It also conducts questionnaire survey in an attempt at developing measures of Chinese publics' perception on the four dimensions of CSR defined by Research Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences - responsibility management, economic responsibility, social responsibility, and environmental responsibility. The findings of empirical analyses indicate that the CSR activities of MNCs much fall in all four dimensions compared with them of Chinese firms. Among four dimensions, MNCs have had bad evaluations especially on economic responsibility and social responsibility that are considered more important than the others to Chinese. Those findings imply that the MNCs has so far failed to implement effective CSR activities in China. In order to offset their liabilities of foreignness and compensate for their disadvantages in the lack of governmental supports, MNCs should intensify the CSR in economic and social responsibilities.

  • These days, the concept of creating shared value is drawn keen attentions to. This interest comes out of the expectation that Creating Shared Value(CSV) can offer an answer to some social issues by creating societal and economic values on the top of the achievements that existing Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) has made. However, it is difficult to make a clear distinction between the achievements that the activities of CSR and CSV have made. In this regard, developing a methodology to make an actual proof analysis on the accomplishments of CSV and to verify customer's awareness of and attitude towards the CSV is necessarily required. A company needs to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace as well as resolve a social issue by innovating value chain. The research has verified the cause and effect relationship between the CSV from the point of view of value chain and the purchase intention aroused by its economic, societal and cultural values through the company image and credibility with actual proof analysis and come up with following results. First, a societal and cultural value resulted in giving positive impact on a company's image, which implies that CSV activities can be the thin end of the wedge through which customers have a good image of the company involved in CSV. Second, a societal value makes a positive influence on the credibility of a company. In this regard, CSV should be recognized not just as a thing that generates a cost, but a way to win-win as well as future development. Third and last, the research results show that both company image and credibility influence on purchase intention. Considering that CSV generates a positive evaluation on a company that will ultimately cause continuous profit-making, the company's ultimate goal of activities, it should be approached from the perspective of making a mid-and-long term strategy.

  • This paper is focused on analyzing the social environment of a rapidly changing on Vietnamese company. The key analysis of this study is on the change of perception in Vietnam and the regional difference of CSR acception. The social acceptance research of CSR is centered on the comparative analysis of Korean, Japanese and Chinese companies Social Activities in Vietnam. In addition, This paper seek to way of contribute to the sustainable development of Korean companies, and its harmonious cooperation with Vietnamese society through reviewing the CSR activities and direction of their CSR expectation. In the paper, linkage analysis was conducted with the results of the study on CSR value development process in Vietnam society and analysis of social responsibility values obtained from empirical studies. Through this, finally, we trying to search the value of social responsibility in Vietnam and its future directions. When we understand Vietnam's CSR, based on 'locality' of Vietnam, Northern and Southern can be understand on its different backgrounds. And it can be analyzed by their CSR characteristics of acception. As the result of this research, In the North, Foreign companies' CSR is understanded to be viewed from the corporate economic income and distribution. In the South, there is a strong tendency to understand CSR activities of foreign companies as marketing activities. On the whole, In northern Hanoi, there was a strong expectation in terms of 'employment improvement' and 'workers' working conditions'. In the South, there was a greater interest in improving the 'quality of life of residents' and 'consumer protection'. This is due to the influence of the economic system experienced during the process of different colonization, modernization and communization between the two regions. Since the Reform and Opening of Vietnam, Social Awareness of CSR seems that the regional differences were formed by the pace of economic development and the economic environment has played a role. In particular, the social acceptance of CSR values showed a slight difference in recognition between the North and South regions, but as both regions showed common hope for 'intervention in the role of government'. Therefore, Social Awareness of Vietnam's CSR is based on relation of 'government-society' formed from the 'Communitarianism'. As foreign investment flows more, CSR awareness and expectations in Vietnam's society will increase further. And the CSR expectations of local governments and stakeholder will be more complicated. It is time to check the needs of Vietnamese society in relation to locality of the social responsibility activities.
