Today, most data is stored in a database (DB). In the DB environment, the users requests the DB to find the data they wants. Similarity Query has predicate that explained by a similarity. However, in the process of processing the similarity query, it is difficult to use an index that can reduce the range of processed records, so the cost of calculating the similarity for all records in the table is high each time. To solve this problem, this paper defines a lightweight similarity function. The lightweight similarity function has lower data filtering accuracy than the similarity function, but consumes less cost than the similarity function. We present a method for reducing similarity query processing cost by using the lightweight similarity function features. Then, Chebyshev distance is presented as a lightweight similarity function to the Euclidean distance function, and the processing cost of a query using the existing similarity function and a query using the lightweight similarity function is compared. And through experiments, it is confirmed that the similarity query processing cost is reduced when Chebyshev distance is applied as a lightweight similarity function for Euclidean similarity.

This study is to compare and analyze the physical and strength properties of lightweight concrete using domestic lightweight aggregate by replacement ratio of artificial lightweight fine and coarse aggregate after considering low cement mixture and pre-wetting time. The slump, unit weight, compressive strength and split tensile strength of lightweight concrete with domestic lightweight aggregate were measured. As test results, the slump of lightweight concrete by replacement ratio of lightweight fine aggregate increased as the replacement ratio of lightweight fine aggregate increased. The unit weight of lightweight concrete using 100% of lightweight fine aggregate was about 10.4% lower than that of the lightweight concrete with natural sand. In addition, the unit weight of lightweight concrete by replacement ratio of lightweight coarse aggregate increased with the increase of the ratio of LWG10(5~10mm). The compressive strength of lightweight concrete with lightweight fine and coarse aggregate increased as the replacement ratio of lightweight fine aggregate increased. The compressive strength of lightweight concrete with natural sand and LWG10 was 30 to 31MPa regardless of the replacement ratio of the lightweight coarse aggregate after 7 days.
The objectives of this study is replaced Silicafume with Metakaolin that is used to lightweight concrete to better performance. So, this study made high-performance lightweight concrete using Metakaolin and characteristics of the fundamental properties and chloride ion diffusion. Consequently, it is compressive strength and chloride ion penetration resistance is lower than lightweight concrete using Silicafume, the performance of compressive strength contrast Silicafume is about 88 to 95%. Also, this study got a content result because the chloride ion penetration resistance showed the performance in around 80 to 90%. As a result, this study insist that replacement ratio of Metakaolin is suitable for 10 to 15%.Silicafume and Metakaolin have similar characteristics. In addition, it is similar to the performance of alternative materials is possible.

The purpose of this study is to estimate experimentally the flexural behavior, capacity and validity of existing regulation of net tensile strain in lightweight concrete beams and polymer modified lightweight concrete beams. One normal weight concrete beam and four lightweight concrete beams, three polymer modified lightweight concrete beams were constructed as same figure and attempted to evaluate the difference of strength and ductility in specimens of different net tensile strain in extreme tension steel. Test results are indicated in terms of load-deflection behavior and ductility index. As the value of net tensile strain increased, the flexural strength and stiffness of specimen decreased but ductility index increased in both of lightweight concrete beams and polymer modified lightweight concrete beams. It is considered that to achieve similar ductility index of normal weight concrete, net tensile strain in extreme tension steel should exceed 0.005 for lightweight concrete beam and polymer modified lightweight concrete beam.

Lightweight geopolymers are more readily produced and give higher fire resistant performance than foam cement concrete. Lowering the density of solid geopolymers can be achieved by inducing chemical reactions that entrain gases to foam the geopolymer structure. This paper reports on the effects of adding different concentrations of aluminum powder on the properties of cellular structured geopolymers. The apparent density of lightweight geopolymers has a range from 0.7 to $1.2g/m^3$ with 0.025, 0.05 and 0.10 wt% of a foaming agent concentration, which corresponds to about 37~60 % of the apparent density, $1.96g/cm^3$, of solid geopolymers. The compressive strength of cellular structured geopolymers decreased to 6~18 % of the compressive strength, 45 MPa of solid geopolymers. The microstructure of geopolymers gel was equivalent for both solid and cellular structured geopolymers. The workability of geopolymers with polyprophylene fibers needs to be improved as in fiber-reinforced cement concrete. The lightweight geopolymers could be used as indoor wall tile or board due to fire resistance and incombustibility of geopolymers.

Because of the advantage of light weight, lightweight concrete is frequently applied to long-span bridges and high-rise buildings. In the country, there is not enough experience for the long-span bridges using lightweight concrete. This paper presents results of an experimental study on the punching shear strength of high-strength lightweight concrete slabs. Four test slabs are fabricated using high-strength lightweight concrete and normalweight concrete and at the center of the test slabs, simulated wheel load is applied until failure. The compressive strengths of lightweight concrete and normalweight concrete are 47MPa and 32MPa, respectively. The test results show the failure mode of all specimens are punching shear and the behaviors of high-strength lightweight concrete slabs are very similar to that of normalweight concrete slabs. Based on the test results, it is discussed the safety and serviceability of high-strength lightweight concrete bridge decks.
This is a fundamental research on use as fill material of lightweight waste such as bottom ash and tire shred. We carried out the test for particle size distribution, specific gravity, density, shear strength, permeability and vertical compression settlement, considering water content change and temperature effect of several waste materials. Bottom ash, which is lighter than soils, has similar permeability and particle size distribution to those of weathered soils. But permeability may differ depending on the particle size distribution. The shear strength aspect of bottom ash and tire shred mixed materials are similar to that of natural fill materials. In the 1-D vertical compression settlement test, we could be assured that bottom ash and tire shred mixed materials showed similar compression settlement to that of sand under actual vertical stress. Furthermore, materials including bottom ash showed smaller compression settlement than that of weathered soils in the long-term settlement test under wetting and freezing-thawing condition.
In conventional video coding, encoder complexity is much higher than that of decoder. However, investigations for lightweight encoder to eliminate motion prediction/compensation claiming most complexity in encoder have recently become an important issue. The Wyner-Ziv coding is one of the representative schemes for the problem and, in this scheme, since encoder generates only parity bits of a current frame without performing any type of processes extracting correlation information between frames, it has an extremely simple structure compared to conventional coding techniques. However, in Wyner-Ziv coding, channel decoding errors occur when noisy side information is used in channel decoding process. These channel decoding errors appear more frequently, especially, when there is not enough correlation between frames to generate accurate side information and, as a result, those errors look like Salt & Pepper type noise in the reconstructed frame. Since this noise severely deteriorates subjective video quality even though such noise rarely occurs, previously we proposed a computationally extremely light encoding method based on selective median filter that corrects such noise using spatial correlation of a frame. However, in the previous method, there is a problem that loss of texture from filtering may exceed gain from error correction by the filter for video sequences having complex torture. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an improved lightweight encoding method that minimizes loss of texture detail from filtering by allowing information of texture and that of noise in side information to be utilized by the selective median filter. Our experiments have verified average PSNR gain of up to 0.84dB compared to the previous method.
