The purposes of this study were to assess the treatment results in orthodontic department, Kyung Hee University, to evaluate the occlusion at 2 year follow-up control, in relation to the original malocclusion, and changes occurring in the follow-up period, and to determine whether treatment and posttreatment changes of the PAR index were related to the original Angle classification Dental study casts of 25 patients in permanent dentition were evaluated using Peer Assessment Rating (PAR) index. The PAR index was measured at the pretreatment stage, immediately after treatment, and at 2 yews posttreatment. The following results were obtained : 1. The treatment reduced the PAR index by 85.05% and it indicates that KHDC clinic has a high standard of treatment 2. The follow-up result of 75.40% PAR score reduction implies a gain of 9.55% of posttreatment PAR score during follow-up period. 3. There is no relationship between the treatment changes of the PAR index and the orignal Angle classification.

This study intends to compare the factors influencing the location of international schools on apartment sales and monthly rent prices for Songdo International School in Incheon, which has a history of more than 10 years. At the latest point, 10 years after the opening of the school, apartments in areas near international schools are divided into sales and monthly rent markets and analyzed. Songdo International City, designed as a planned city, was set as a spatial scope, and 2018-19, which is a relatively stable real estate period, was set as a temporal analysis period to avoid the overheating period of real estate after COVID-19. Considering the urban image of the "New Special Education Zone," such as the opening of Songdo Campus by private academies formed around international schools and domestic and foreign universities, the multiple regression model was applied based on the traditional Hedonic price model. As a result of the empirical analysis, first, differences in the price determinants of sales and monthly rent were confirmed. Second, the price influence of international schools was much higher than that of the variables. Third, the influence of international schools was more pronounced in the monthly rent market than in the sales market.
Decrease of occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) due to loss of teeth structure and destruction of the occlusal plane by severely worn dentition may cause cross bite or temporomandibular joint disorder by following change of facial feature or the loss of anterior guidance. Full mouth rehabilitation via an increase of the OVD can be considered to avoid this problem and proper evaluation of patient's OVD is essential. An 80 year old male visited for overall prosthodontic treatment, cross bite due to continuous wear and following decrease of the OVD were observed. We analyzed the existing occlusal relationship using the diagnostic cast, the radiographic evaluation and clinical test, and then proper increase of OVD was selected. The new OVD on diagnostic wax up was placed by the temporary restoration. After 3 months of observation period, final restoration with fixed partial dentures and implant overdenture were made. Throughout the follow-up period of 8 months, the aesthetic and functional improvement can be obtained.
The purpose of this study was to estimate the pricing factors of residential lands in new cities by estimating the pricing model of residential lands. For this purpose, hedonic equations for each quantile of the conditional distribution of land prices were estimated using quantile regression methods and the sale price date of Jangyu New Town in Gimhae. In this study, a quantile regression method that models the relation between a set of explanatory variables and each quantile of land price was adopted. As a result, the differences in the effects of the characteristics by price quantile were confirmed. The number of years that elapsed after the completion of land construction is the quadratic effect in the model because its impact may give rise to a non-linear price pattern. Age appears to decrease the price until certain years after the construction, and increases the price afterward. In the estimation of the quantile regression, land age appears to have a statistically significant impact on land price at the traditional level, and the turning point appears to be shorter for the low quantiles than for the higher quantiles. The positive effects of the use of land for commercial and residential purposes were found to be the biggest. Land demand is preferred if there are more than two roads on the ground. In this case, the amount of sunshine will improve. It appears that the shape of a square wave is preferred to a free-looking land. This is because the square land is favorable for development. The variables of the land used for commercial and residential purposes have a greater impact on low-priced residential lands. This is because such lands tend to be mostly used for rental housing and have different characteristics from residential houses. Residential land prices have different characteristics depending on the price level, and it is necessary to consider this in the evaluation of the collateral value and the drafting of real estate policy.
The skin ulcer in Leishmcnio mcior infection is known to be variable according to the inoculation sites even in a susceptible host. The present study traced the immunoblot patterns by the site of inoculation and duration of infection in BALB/c mice. L. mqior were subcutaneously inoculated on the nose, footpad, and back of the mice, in a dose of 3 × 106 promastigotes. Sera of the mice were collected every 10 days after inoculation. SDS-PAGE separated soluble protein bands of the promastigotes and immunoblot was carried out with the infection sera. The skin ulcer first appeared on the nose at 15 days, and on the footpad at 17 days after inoculation. The ulcer on the back appeared after 90 days. In the mice with ulcer on the nose or footpad, serum IgG antibody reacted to 202, 139, 98, 83, 81, 67, 65, 62, 59, 54, 52, 42, 26, and 23 kDa bands at 20 days after inoculation. In mice inoculated on the back, however, the immunoblot showed visible reactions with 202, 83, 81 74, 67, 65, 62, 59, 54, 52,20 and 17 kDa bands at 90 days after inoculation. The present result showed that the antigenic protein bands of L. mqior promastigotes were differed by the inoculation site and duration of infection. Since the skin ulcer and the serum antibodies to antigenic bands between 67-52 kDa appeared simultaneously, it is suggested that the serum IgG antibodies may play a role in formation of the skin ulcer in BALB/c mice.
Now that fiscal soundness is increasingly important influenced by the euro area fiscal crisis, early budget execution has been under the spotlight as a tool for economy control, other than typical expansionary method, such as supplementary budget. Basically, early budget execution is a fiscal policy instrument that reponses to economic fluctuations through modifying the inter-temporal allocation of fiscal expenditure within budget, without affecting fiscal soundness. This study empirically examines how effective the intert-temporal reallocation of fiscal expenditure is in economy control. Using Korea's Consolidated Fiscal data, the size of inter-temporal reallocation of fiscal expenditure is defined as changes of fiscal expenditure for one year excluding seasonal factors and used to explain real economic growth rate, a dependent variable. The result shows that the macroeconomic effect of the inter-temporal reallocation turns out meaningful in general, though some policy time lag exists. Meanwhile, a simulation using macroeconomic model finds that overall effect on economic growth is not large because increase in fiscal expenditure allocation at a certain point of time is canceled by the opposite direction within the same fiscal year. However, the inter-temporal reallocation is found to reduce volatility of key macroeconomic variables so as to contribute to partially stabilizing macroeconomy. In particular, such effect of economic stabilization seems to be highly apparent at the time of financial crisis, but not very noticeable in normal economic cycle.
This paper examines consumption dynamics in relation to asset prices in Korea. Empirical analysis based on the error correction model shows that personal consumption is affected by changes in asset prices but the consumption converges to the long-run level of consumption corresponding to the total income flow in two years. This adjustment in consumption implies that the consumption error, reflected in the error correction term, should have predictability for the future consumption growth during the adjustment period. It is found that the error correction term has a long-run predictability for consumption over up to about 3 years; thus, confirming the error correction model. It is also found that housing prices have larger effects on consumption compared with stock prices in Korea. In addition, the effects of income and asset prices on consumption show bigger effects during contractionary period than expansionary period in business cycles. This paper also analyzes effects of asset wealth that reflects changes in both price and quantity. It is found that asset wealth has a long-run effect on consumption in addition to total income as determinants of consumption. Since wealth effects usually indicate the long-run effect of changes in asset wealth on consumption that is not explained by labor income, which is the proxy for human source of wealth, it is estimated with labor income used as a control variable. According to the estimation, the marginal propencity to consume out of asset wealth is approximately 2%. It means that 1,000won increase in asset wealth may lead to 20 won increase in consumption.
Purpose : Relapses are a major problem in children with steroid responsive nephrotic syndrome(SRNS). This study has been performed to determine the predictive factors for relapse in children with SRNS. Methods : The study group consisted of 7,3 children with SRNS who had been admitted to the Department of Pediatrics, Kyungpook National University Hospital, over 6 years from 1996 to 2001. The medical records were reviewed retrospectively and analyzed to determine significant relationships between selected variables[age at onset, sex, laboratory data, the rapidity of response(days to remission), interval to first relapse] and the frequency of relapse. Results : The age($mean{\pm}SD$) of patients was $4.53{\pm}2.53$ years old. The male to female ratio was 52:21. In 95$\%$, 39 out of the 41 children had a renal biopsy, and the final diagnosis was minimal change nephrotic syndrome. There was no significant correlation between the frequency of relapse and the following variables age at onset, sex, and presence of hematuria. However, the rapidity of response correlated well with the frequency of relapse, especially during the first year after the onset of the disease(P=0.005). Conclusion : The rapidity of response is expected to be one of the predictive (actors for relapse in children with SRNS. (J Korean Soc Pediatr Nephrol 2005;9:167-174)

Statement of problem: Volume stability, microstructure reproducibility and fluidity along with compatibility with dental stone must be in consideration in order to use tissue conditioner as a material for functional impression. There are few studies concerning the influence of time factor in oral condition on surface roughness of the stone and optimal retention period in the oral cavity considering such changes in surface roughness. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the influence of various kinds of tissue conditioner, its powder/liquid ratio and immersion time on surface roughness of the stone. Material and methods: Materials used in this study were the three kinds of tissue conditioners(Coe-Comfort, Visco-Gel, Soft-Liner) and were grouped into three: group R-mixed with standard powder/liquid ratio that was recommended by the manufacturers, group M-mixed with 20% more powder, group L-mixed with 20% less powder. Specimens were made with the size of 20 mm diameter and 2 mm width. Each tissue conditioner specimens were subdivided into 5 groups according to the immersion time(0 hour, 1 day, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days), completely immersed into artificial saliva and were stored under $37^{\circ}C$. Specimens of which the given immersion time elapsed were taken out and were poured with improved stone, making the stone specimens. Surface roughness of the stone specimens was measured by a profilometer. Results: Within the limitation of this study, the following results were drawn. 1. Major influencing factor on surface roughness of the stone model made from tissue conditioner was the retention period(contribution ratio($\rho$)=62.86%, P<.05) of the tissue conditioner in oral cavity to make functional impression. 2. In case of Coe-Comfort, higher mean surface roughness value of the stone model with statistical significance was observed compared to that of Soft-Liner and Visco-Gel as immersion time changes(P<.05). 3. In case of group L(less), higher mean surface roughness value of the stone model with statistical significance was observed compared to that of R(recommended) and M(more) group as immersion time changes(P<.05). Conclusion: We may conclude that as the retention period of time in oral cavity influences surface roughness of the stone model the most and as the kind of tissue conditioner and its P/L ratio may influence also, clinician should well understand the optimal retention period in oral cavity and choose the right tissue conditioner for the functional impression, thus making the functional impression with tissue conditioner usefully.
A study was conducted to develop a model for estimating evapotranspiration and yield of Chinese cabbages from meteorological factors from 1981 to 1986 in Suweon, Korea. Lysimeters with water table maintained at 50cm depth were used to measure the potential evapotranspiration and the maximum evapotranspiration in situ. The actual evapotranspiration and the yield were measured in the field plots irrigated with different soil moisture regimes of -0.2, -0.5, and -1.0 bars, respectively. The soil water content throughout the profile was monitored by a neutron moisture depth gauge and the soil water potentials were measured using gypsum block and tensiometer. The fresh weight of Chinese cabbages at harvest was measured as yield. The data collected in situ were analyzed to obtain parameters related to modeling. The results were summarized as followings: 1. The 5-year mean of potential evapotranspiration (PET) gradually increased from 2.38 mm/day in early April to 3.98 mm/day in mid-June, and thereafter, decreased to 1.06 mm/day in mid-November. The estimated PET by Penman, Radiation or Blanney-Criddle methods were overestimated in comparison with the measured PET, while those by Pan-evaporation method were underestimated. The correlation between the estimated and the measured PET, however, showed high significance except for July and August by Blanney-Criddle method, which implied that the coefficients should be adjusted to the Korean conditions. 2. The meteorological factors which showed hgih correlation with the measured PET were temperature, vapour pressure deficit, sunshine hours, solar radiation and pan-evaporation. Several multiple regression equations using meteorological factors were formulated to estimate PET. The equation with pan-evaporation (Eo) was the simplest but highly accurate. PET = 0.712 + 0.705Eo 3. The crop coefficient of Chinese cabbages (Kc), the ratio of the maximum evapotranspiration (ETm) to PET, ranged from 0.5 to 0.7 at early growth stage and from 0.9 to 1.2 at mid and late growth stages. The regression equation with respect to the growth progress degree (G), ranging from 0.0 at transplanting day to 1.0 at the harvesting day, were: $$Kc=0.598+0.959G-0.501G^2$$ for spring cabbages $$Kc=0.402+1.887G-1.432G^2$$ for autumn cabbages 4. The soil factor (Kf), the ratio of the actual evapotranspiration to the maximum evapotranspiration, showed 1.0 when the available soil water fraction (f) was higher than a threshold value (fp) and decreased linearly with decreasing f below fp. The relationships were: Kf=1.0 for $$f{\geq}fp$$ Kf=a+bf for f$$I{\leq}Esm$$ Es = Esm for I > Esm 6. The model for estimating actual evapotranspiration (ETa) was based on the water balance neglecting capillary rise as: ETa=PET. Kc. Kf+Es 7. The model for estimating relative yield (Y/Ym) was selected among the regression equations with the measured ETa as: Y/Ym=a+bln(ETa) The coefficients and b were 0.07 and 0.73 for spring Chinese cabbages and 0.37 and 0.66 for autumn Chinese cabbages, respectively. 8. The estimated ETa and Y/Ym were compared with the measured values to verify the model established above. The estimated ETa showed disparities within 0.29mm/day for spring Chinese cabbages and 0.19mm/day for autumn Chinese cabbages. The average deviation of the estimated relative yield were 0.14 and 0.09, respectively. 9. The deviations between the estimated values by the model and the actual values obtained from three cropping field experiments after the completion of the model calibration were within reasonable confidence range. Therefore, this model was validated to be used in practical purpose.
