Analysis of the Effects of Traffic Signal Operation Methods (대전시 신호운영체계 개편에 따른 효과분석)

  • Delay reduction of vehicles at the intersection is highly dependent on the signal operation method. Most previous traffic operations have focused on minimizing delay by adjust traffic offset. However, these methods have limitation in solving traffic problem if the volume reaches or exceeds the capacity. In this paper, it was analyzed that the effectiveness of various signal operation methods such as left-turn prohibition, and using protected mixed with permitted left turn using the traffic data from Daejeon city. In case of the left-turn prohibition of a intersection, the control delay reduced from 54.2 seconds to 22.7 seconds and especially, the delay of the southbound was drastically reduced. In addition, the delay was highly reduced from 27.0 seconds to 12.1 seconds when the operation system was changed to use protected mixed with permitted left turn.

  • In this paper, we present the results of the performance statistical analysis of the multi-robot formation control based on receding horizon particle swarm optimization (RHPSO). The formation control problem of multi-robot system can be defined as a constrained nonlinear optimization problem when considering collision avoidance between robots. In general, the constrained nonlinear optimization problem has a problem that it takes a long time to find the optimal solution. The RHPSO algorithm was proposed to quickly find a suboptimal solution to the optimization problem of multi-robot formation control. The computational complexity of the RHPSO increases as the number of candidate solutions and generations increases. Therefore, it is important to find a suboptimal solution that can be used for real-time control with minimal candidate solutions and generations. In this paper, we compared the formation error according to the number of candidate solutions and the number of generations. Through numerical simulations under various conditions, the results are analyzed statistically and the minimum number of candidate solutions and the minimum number of generations of the RHPSO algorithm are derived within the allowable control error.

  • 우리나라 전력계통의 특성상 남부의 전원단과 수도권의 부하중심단과의 거리가 존재하여 안정적인 계통전압제어에 어려움이 존재한다. 이러한 계통전압제어의 어려움을 극복하기 위해 154kV 계통에 SC Bank를 설치 운용중에 있다. 운전 환경상 차단기의 투입과 차단이 잦은 154kV SC Bank에 리액터가 소손되는 등의 문제점이 발생하고 있어 154kV SC Bank의 써지응답특성을 규명하고 차단기의 투입차단시 발생하는 써지전류의 저감에 대한 연구의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 154kV SC Bank를 대상으로하여 현장조사와 현장실증을 통해 써지전류를 측정하고, 모의를 통해 써지응답특성을 규명하였다. 그 결과, 차단기의 접점의 상태와 피뢰기의 동작여부에 의해 써지전류가 크게 영향을 받는다는 점을 확인하였다. 154kV SV Bank를 대상으로 한 현장시험과 서지응답특성의 분석결과를 기본으로 하여 피뢰기의 영향과 차단기의 투입차단 영향을 최소화하는 방안으로 피뢰기의 분리운전으로 전류재단현상을 막아 급준써지전류의 발생을 억제하고 저항투압방식의 차단기로 써지전류를 30%이하로 억제할 수 있음을 실증과 모의로 확인하였다.

An Analysis of Cell Loss Process in an ATM Network Under Partial Buffer Sharing Policy (ATM 전송망에서의 PBS를 이용한 셀 우선 순위 제어 방식의 연구)

  • The PBS(Partial Buffer Sharing) space priority mechanism is one of priority control methods which may improve the performance of a single server queueing system when mixed traffic with different performance requirements is applied to the system. This paper analyzes the cell loss behavior of PBS assuming loss sensitive traffic and delay sensitive traffic are applied to the system. To derive the successive cell loss probabilities. which are an important performance measure of realtime traffic, we develop a recursive algorithm. Performance results show the successive cell loss probabilities obtained by our method are lager than the probabilities derived from an independent cell loss assumption. These results may indicate the limitation of PBS for realtime traffic and the increase of the admissible load with the criterion of quality of service.

  • This paper suggests the advanced reliability assessment tool for railway signaling Hot-Standby sparing system. Existing reliability assessment for Hot-Standby sparing system controller is done by using single module mean failure rate based on approximated Hot standby sparing system function. Although approximated Hot standby sparing system function can be applied to various Hot standby sparing system, however, it is not able to reflect the exact system structure. In this paper, we suggest the advanced reliability function by identifying changeover-related failure factors and common failure mode which is not considered in existing approximated Hot standby sparing system reliability function via developing Hot standby sparing system model for railway signaling and applying FMECA to this model. Also. we compare reliability assessment results for model system to reliability assessment for existing system.

MPEG-2 422P@ML Transcoder for Digital TV Transmission (디지털 DTV전송을 위한 422P@ML 트랜스부호화기 개발)

  • We have proposed a transcoder which converts the MPEG-2 422P@ML bitstream into MPEG-2 422P@ML bitstream. properties of the MPEG-2 422P@ML profile and requirements for the transcoder are analyzed for the proposed transcoder. The MPEG-2 422P@ML profile permits several GOP structures, each of which has little resemblance. Such different GOP structures lead to a complicated transcoder which includes motion estimation, and have limited use of the side information in the bitstream. By computer simulations, we showed that the results of the transcoding is as good as that of the direct coder by MPEG-2 422P@ML.

  • This paper proposes a 'secure node' to be robust against network-based DoS attacks. The secure node selectively accepts new sessions based on the Zipf's law while a link is in the overload state. Our scheme calculates a threshold value for overload state, and provides a dynamic service mechanism for enhancing availability of a web server. The simulation results show performance improvement of the proposed scheme in terms of completion/connection ratios.

  • BACnet(Building Automation and Control networks) is a standard data communication network protocol designed specifically for building automation and control systems. BACnet provides BACnet/IP Protocol for data communication through the Internet. BACnet device uses BBMD(BACnet Broadcasting Management Device) to deliver BACnet broadcast messages. In this study, we propose a fault tolerant BBMD in the BACnet/IP protocol. The fault tolerant BBMD improves the connectivity of BACnet/IP networks by inheriting the operation of original BBMD in the networks. The fault tolerant BBMD is implemented with added functions to the original BACnet/IP protocol so that it can provide backward compatibility with the original BACnet/IP devices. We examined the validity of the fault tolerant BBMD using an experimental model.

  • This thesis presents a new VHDL intermediate format CDDG(Control Dominated Data Graph) and a minimal constrained scheduling algorithm for an optimal control dominated ASIC design. CDDG is a control flow graph which represents conditional branches and loops efficiently. Also it represents data dependency and such constraints as hardware resource and timing. In the proposed scheduling algorithm, the constraints using the inclusion and overlap relation among subgraphs. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm has been proven by the experiment with the benchmark examples.

  • 본 연구에서 사용한 부유식방파제는 상치의 공기주입량에 따라 흘수심을 조절할 수 있으며, 부유식방파제 입사면과 투과면에 하부슬릿을 두어 입사파랑의 제어가 가능하도록 고안하였다. 또한, 수리 모형실험에서는 카테너리(catenary) 계류시스템의 계류각 변화에 따른 장력특성을 분석하였다. 일반적으로 계류시스템은 계류점, 계류형상 및 인장정도에 따라 구분된다. 본 연구에서는 부유식방파제의 6자유도 운동 중 2차원운동에 따른 장력특성 분석을 위하여 4점 계류를 채택하였으며, 계류형상은 일정 동요량을 허용하지만 안전성이 높은 카테너리형을 적용하였다. 수리모형실험을 통하여 투수성 부유식방파제의 장력특성을 분석하고, 입사파랑 변화에 따른 계류시스템의 안전성을 분석한 결과, 투수성부유식방파제는 계류각 전 구간에서 무공형부유식방파제에 비하여 최대장력이 낮게 측정되었으며 안전성이 확보되었다.
