Development of Fracture Mechanics Analysis System (파괴역학분석 시스템 개발)

  • 원자력발전소 1차계통 주요기기와 2차계통 주요기기들에 대한 가동 중 검사시 발견된 결함은 ASME Sec. XI, IWB와 IWC에 근거하여 허용여부를 결정한다. 이때, 결함 크기가 허용기준을 초과하는 경우에는, 기기의 안전성 확보를 위해 ASME Sec. XI에 규정된 절차에 따라 파괴역학분석(Fracture Mechanics Analysis: FMA)을 수행하고, 그 결과에 따라 운전중지 후 보수 또는 계속운전의 판단을 한다. 따라서, 원자력발전소 주요기기에 대한 FMA기술은 안전성평가의 핵심이 되는 부분이다. 원자력발전소의 안전성평가에는 결함의 형상 정보, 환경 정보, 재료 물성치, 응력 데이터 등 방대한 양의 데이터가 필요할 뿐 아니라 파괴역학적 분석절차도 매우 복잡하여 전문가도 많은 시간과 노력이 요구된다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하고자 일부 평가절차를 컴퓨터 프로그램화하여 효율적인 안전성평가가 이루어지도록 노력하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 파괴역학적 분석에 필요한 응력 데이터를 관리하는 응력 데이터베이스를 구축하고, 응력확대계수계산 프로그램(KEVA)과 결함허용여부를 결정하는 프로그램(Acceptance Standard)과 결함성장률 계산 프로그램(FLEVA)을 Web 기반으로 개발하고 구현결과를 소개한다.

Remote Procedure Call Scheme to Support Fault-Tolerance (결함 허용을 제공하는 원격 프로시듀어 호출 기법)

  • RPC(Remote Procedure Call) has been studied for programmer to easily write distributed program of little bit higher efficiency and reliability. In this study, fault-tolerant remote procedure call for hardware failures is proposed. Fault-tolerance is supplied by replicated procedures with node group, so called chain, and copies along chains are linearly ordered. Calls for procedure are sent to primary copy along chains, and other copies are propagated internally. If failures happen, first copy in faultless chain returns the result to the caller, Especially, in this study processing of redundant call message and result message, while using limited ack message, are avoided. This method supplies efficient and reliable fault-tolerance compared with existing remote procedure call.

결함허용 실시간 시스템 구조에대한 설계 및 신뢰성 평가

  • 본 논문에서는 "실행 프로세서 " , "대기 프로세서" 그리고 "프로세서 절체"와 같은 향상된 개념과 기법을 사용하여 실시간 시스템에 의한 이중화 구조를 설계하고 신뢰성을 평가한다. 이중화구조는 동일한 두 개의 하드웨어 요소로 구성되며, 신속한 결함검출과 결함분리를 위한 유용한 여러 복구단계로 구성되었기 때문에 하드웨어와 소프트웨어의 부가로 인한 시스템의 부담을 최소화 시키고, 시스템이 연속성을 유지하도록한다. 기존의 결함허용 기법과 비교해서, 제안한 구조는 삼중화 구조(TMR) 보다 신뢰성이 향상됨을 보인다. 삼중화 구조(TMR) 보다 신뢰성이 향상됨을 보인다.

  • Distributed systems offer environments for attaining high performance, fault-tolerance, information sharing, resource sharing, etc. But we cannot benefit from these potential advantages without suitable management of events/states occurring in distributed systems. These events and states can be symptoms for performance degradation, erroneous functions, suspicious activities, etc. and are subject to further analysis. To properly manage events/states, we need to be able to specify and efficiently detect these events/states. In this paper we first describe an event/state specification language and a centralized algorithm for detecting events/states specified with this language. Then we describe an algorithm for distributing an event/state detection task in a distributed system which is hierarchically organized. The algorithm consists of decomposing an event/state detection task into subtasks and allocation these subtasks to the proper nodes. We also explain a method to make the distributed detection fault-tolerant.

  • The flaw tolerance evaluation requirement prescribed in Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) §29.571 Amendment 55 was established in 2012. As a result, there are not many datas of flaw tolerance evaluation. This paper introduces the series of processes and evaluation methods carried out for certification based on the flaw tolerance evaluation. An initial flaws were artificially formed on the main rotor actuator and then the damage tolerance test was performed, which was twice life time of design requirements, to demonstrate that the main rotor actuator of the rotorcraft is sufficiently capable of flaw tolerance.

  • Electronic equipment used in satellites are demanding extremely high reliability, so they should be designed to have immunity for some critical faults by using redundancy component. Generally, Communication satellites are assigned to meet the 15 years mission lifetime, of the analysis about faults must be performed to electronic equipments of satellite. This paper is a summary of the fault tolerance design research of command processor, the improvement of reliability and trade-off study of fault tolerance design result. The reliability prediction value of the satellite component used in this research was taken from Koreasat 3 and Kompsat 1. It is important to perform many trade-off studies for fault tolerance design, especially to choose the most proper fault tolerance method for the specified fault scenario.

  • 기존의 보안 관점에서의 정보보호는 암호화, 인증과 접근제어를 이용하여 권한없는 접근을 방지하는 부분과 침입탐지와 같은 수동적인 관점에서 많이 연구되었다. 그러나 프로그램의 계속적인 취약성이 발견됨에 따라 보다 적극적인 방어 개념인 정보 생존성에 대한 연구도 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 정보 생존성에서 네트워크 관점에서 고장 또한 침입에 의한 결함에도 지속적인 네트워크 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 결함허용 네트워크에 대한 아키텍처를 제시한다.

  • System reliability has been a major concern since the beginning age of the electronic digital computers. One of the modest ways of increasing reliability is to design fault-tolerant system. This paper propose a construction mechanism of fault-tolerant system for the general graph topology. This system has several spare nodes. Up to date, fault-tolerant system design is applied only to loop and tree networks. But they are very limited cases. New algorithm of this paper tried to have a capability which can be applied to any kinds of topologies without such a many restriction. the algorithm consist of several steps : minimal diameter spaning tree extraction step, optimal node decision step, original connectivity restoration step and finally redundancy graph construction step.

  • Two scheme are widely used for fault-tolerant systems : one is the duplex system that has a physical redundancy, and the other one is the checkpointing scheme that rolls back to the last checkpoint at a failure. The average execution time and availability are important factors for measuring the performance of the fault-tolerant systems. However, in fault-tolerant real-time systems with a time constraint, meeting the time constrain instead of reducing the average execution time is the most important factor in the performance evaluation. We analyze and compare the performance of two fault-tolerant scheme (the duplex system and the checkpointing scheme) for real-time applications.

Performance Analysis of Fault-Tolerant Scheduling in a Uniprocessor Computer (단일칩 컴퓨터의 결함허용 스케쥴링 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we present analytical and simulation models for evaluating the operation of a uniprocessor computer which utilizes a time redundant approach (such as recomputation by shilted operands) for lault-tolerant computing. In the proposed approach, all incoming jobs to the uniprocessor are duplicated, thus two versions 01 each job must be processed. Three methods for appropriately scheduling the primary and sL'Condary versions of the jobs are proposed and analyzed. The proposed scheduling methods take into account the load and the fault rate of the uniprocessor to evaluate two figures of merit for cost and profit with respect to a delay in response time due to faults and fault tolerance. Our model utilizes a fault-tolerant schedule according to which it is possible to find an optimal delay (given by $\kappa$) based on empiric parameters such as cost, the load and the fault rate of the uniprocessor.
