이 연구에서는 2차원 삼각형 격자모양의 광결정(photonic crystal) 슬랩위에 형성된 막대형 공진기를 이용한 레이저 발진을 보고한다. 막대형 공진기란 그림 1과 같이 광결정 도파로(waveguide)를 기반으로 하여 만들어진 것으로, (a)와 같이 직선형으로 된 공진기, (b)와 같이 도파로의 진행방향에서 60도 꺾인 공진기, (c)와 같이 120도 꺾인 공진기의 세 가지 형태에 대하여 연구하였다. 이와 같은 형태의 공진기는 기본적으로 광결정 도파로와 형태가 비슷하므로, 공진 모드도 광결정 도파로의 도파모드와 비슷한 성질을 가질 것으로 추측해볼 수 있다. H.264/AVC의 인트라 예측에서 미리 현재 블록 내의 정보 및 이전 블록의 예측 모드 정보 등을 이용하여 현재 블록의 예측 부호화 블록 크기가 결정되었을 경우, 예측된 블록 크기에 적합한 예측 모드 결정이 요구된다. 이에 사전에 결정된 예측 블록 크기 정보와 주변 블록과의 화소 변화량을 계산하여 예측 모드를 결정하는 기법을 제안하고 성능을 평가한다.

Thermoelectric effects on the temperature changes at the solid- and liquid-phase and its interface were studied by using the unidirectional solidification of $\textrm{Bi}_{2}\textrm{Te}_{3}$. Cooling or heating effects measured with current density. polarity and current passing time were quite different. By separating sole Peltier, Thomson and Joule heat theoretically and experimentally, the Peltier coefficient at the solid/liquid interface of $\textrm{Bi}_{2}\textrm{Te}_{3}$ was -1.10$\times\textrm{10}^{-1}$V, and the Thomson coefficients of solid- and liquid-phase were 7.31\times\textrm{10}^{-4}V/K, 5.77\times\textrm{10}^{-5}V/K, respectively. When D.C. passed from solid-phase to liquid-phase during the crystal growth of $\textrm{Bi}_{2}\textrm{Te}_{3}$ the crystal with more directionality was obtained owing to increase of the temperature gradient in liquid by the Peltier cooling. But in reverse current direction, the crystallinity was not changed significantly.

The purpose of this study is to propose the confinement effectiveness of precast segmental concrete that binding by lateral confining steel in the method of precast segmental concrete pridge piers construction. Generally, the confinement effect of concrete that binding by lateral confining steel is defined by the confinement effectiveness coefficient and the confinement effectiveness coefficient is defined as the ratio of area of effectively confined concrete core to area of confined concrete core. The area of effectively confined concrete core is defined by Arching action occurred on a space of lateral confinement steel and The area of confined concrete core is defined by the ratio of area of longitudinal reinforcement to area of core of section. But in case of precast segmental concrete, concrete cover that exist on top and bottom of concrete segment should be considered.

M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer and Raman spectrum studies have been carried out on the 2b-site Fe ion in the Ba-ferrite (M-type). The thermal dynamics of Fe ion was analyzed by M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectra at different angles between the $\gamma$-ray direction and c-axis. The vibration on the 2b-site was more active compare to other direction and had very strong intensity in the Raman spectrum.

In this paper, we propose a new deinterlacing method that converts the interlaced images into the progressive images using a field. Firsr of all, it estimates the direction of edge. If it makes an accurate estimate of the direction, then it interpolates a pixel using ELA(Edge-based Line Average). Otherwise, it estimates the new direction of edge, and then,, it interpolates a pixel using a proposed median filter. From simulation results, it is shown that the proposed method improves both subjective and objective image quality as compared with previous deinterlacing methods.
