A Study on Element Features and Research Frames of Game Trailers (게임 트레일러의 유형 및 산업적 연구 프레임에 관한 고찰)

  • The quantitave increase and qualitative development in the game industry leads to bitter competition and makes game companies struggle to find better ways promoting their own games. The game trailer is one of the critical ways to publicize diverse games by showing visual images directly. There are three reasons why the game trailer comes into the spotlight these days; the rapid growth of the Internet speed handling the large size of files, the remarkable development of visual image quality just like digital movies, and the advent of video websites such as You Tube that shows huge amount of videos regardless of the type and size. However, there are not enough amount of research on the game trailer because using game trailers as the marketing source is still at an early stage. Therefore, this research focuses on providing characteristics of game trailers that are available for practical market analysis. First, this research shows that game trailers can be divided by the category of display, style, and contents type. Second, this research provides the component parts of game trailers that are divided into contents factors such as characters, backgrounds, events and promotional factors such as title, production company name, distribution company name. Third, this research explores research frames that would be needed to analyze marketing strategies, effects of game trailers, production pipelines and so on. These categorizations would be useful for producing game trailers efficiently and utilizing them effectively.

  • 세계적으로 성공한 게임기업체인 닌텐도는 2008년 회계연도 연결결산에서 영업이익을 5300억엔(약 8조 1620원)으로 전망했다. 2007년에 비해 엔화상승 탓에 애초 전망치 6300억엔에는 못 미쳤지만 8.8%나 증가했다. 역대 최대의 흑자 기록을 세웠다. 글러벌 금융 위기로 대부분의 기업은 실적 악화에 고민했지만 일본의 게임기 업체인 닌텐도는 알찬 기업의 대명사로 떠올랐다.

  • Game engine is generally used to reduce the risks in the game industry and provides various game editing tools. We analyse the requirements of the game editing tools to support the development of the 3D online action game. To analyse the requirements of the game editing tools, we compare the editing tools of the famous game engines. And then we design and implement the game editing tools. The concern on the game engine including the editing tools will be realize the high value of the game industry.

  • Rating system, which generated by struggling and negotiating of many social groups, helps us to anyalyze plenty of social factors. With this point of view this article attempts to examine the game rating system of Iran, that started in 2009. At the beginning, the nubmber and ratio of prohibited games were very high. Most prohibited games have contents of violence with religious distortion or women's nudity. But recently the case of prohibition is not seen and the ratio of age rate is changed to that of other countries. The system and operation of ESRA is influenced by multiple factors like the willingness to support game industry of government, the understanding of industrial value, the acknowledgement of cultural effect of game and etc.

  • This Serious Game is on the issue for its positive role recently. A Serious Game helps the learners to recognize the problems effectively, grasp and classify important information needed to solve the problems and convey the contents of what they have learned. The Serious Game can be usefully applied to education and training in the areas of scientific technology and industrial technology.   • The progress in Information & Communication Technology enables data scientists to analyze big data for identifying peoples' daily lives and tacit preferences. A variety of industries already aware the potential usefulness of analyzing big data. However limited use of big data has been performed in game industry. In this research, we adopt data mining technique to analyze data gathered from a strategic simulation game. Decision Tree, Random Forest, Multi-class SVM, and Linear Regression techniques are used to find the most important variables to users' game levels. We provide practical guides for game design and usability based on the analyzed results.

  • 콘솔 및 PC 게임이 모바일 플랫폼으로 진출하는 경우 기존에 출시했던 플랫폼과 다르게 모바일 플랫폼에 맞는 조작, UI, 과금 정책 등의 다양한 부분을 고려할 필요가 있다. 모바일 플랫폼의 화면 크기 조작의 한계를 반영해 전투, 퀘스트 진행, 파티 조합, 장비 장착, 캐릭터 육성 등 게임 플레이 전반의 자동 시스템을 구축해 유저에게 조작 편의성을 제공할 필요가 있다. 또한 기존의 유료화 게임 형태의 판매 전략에서 부분 유료화의 전환에 따른 기존의 유저가 느낄 수 있는 과금 거부감을 해소하기 위해 시즌 패스, 월정액 시스템 등을 도입해 소 과금으로 유저들에게 게임 내에서 만족감을 느낄 수 있도록 하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 게임의 일회적인 판매량이 매출에 영향을 주는 것과 다르게 주기적인 유저들의 접속(DAU, MAU)에 따른 과금 정도가 매출 및 게임 순위 등에 영향을 주게 된다. 따라서 꾸준한 업데이트와 이벤트 제공을 통해 기존 유저들이 장기적으로 게임에 접속하도록 유도하고, 신규 유저들이 게임에 유입될 수 있도록 하는 과정과 같은 발전 방안을 제시해 본다.

  • 4차 산업혁명 시대의 핵심 기술 분야라고 불리는 가상현실(Virtual Realityl VR)/증강현실(Augmented Reality; AR) 기술은 그 동안 IT 시장을 주도해 온 스마트폰 시장이 포화상태에 도달함에 따라 주요 IT기업들의 차세대 비즈니스로 떠오르고 있으며, 미디어 플랫폼인 VR에 대한 연구 또한 계속해서 진행되고 있다. 또한 최근 들어 디스플레이 해상도가 높아지고 PC의 성능이 좋아지면서 많은 회사에서 VR 콘텐츠에 대응하여 VR기기를 출시하고 있다. 하지만 아직까지 VR에 대한 호환성 테스팅 방법은 제대로 제시되지 않고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 연구를 통해서 효과적이고 효율적인 호환성 테스트 방법을 제시한다.
