Detection of Irradiation Treatment for Seasoned-Powdered Foods by Thermoluminescence Measurement (Thermoluminescence 측정에 의한 조미분말식품의 방사선 조사유무 확인)

  • Thermoluminescence measurements were applied to the detection of seasoned-powered foods such as shellfish extract powder, seasoned marine products, Ramen soup powder and sardine extract powder whether they are irradiated or not. Correlation coefficients $(R^2)$ between irradiation doses and corresponding TL responses were more than 0.5966 in all samples and 0.9500 in Ramen soup powder. TL threshold value was pre-established for the detection of unknown Ramen soup powders by verifying TL responses with a re-irradiation step. Threshold values were maximum 1.37 for the nonirradiated samples and minimum 6.06 for the 2.5 kGy-irradiated samples. The samples showing values between 1.37 and 6.06 were subjected to a re-irradiation step for their detection, which results were reconfirmed by enumerating the total bacterial load of the detected samples. Pre-established threshold values were successfully applicable to the detection of 167 coded unknown samples, both nonirradiated and irradiated with gamma or electron-beam energy. In the assessment of irradiated doses, three calibration curves were pre-established by plotting TL intensity versus applied doses, of which a quadratic equation was obtained for the potential estimation of irradiated doses with some variations from the real doses.

Application of Immunoassay for the Detection of Gamma-Irradiated Shrimp (감마선 조사된 새우의 검지를 위한 면역분석법의 적용)

  • Immunoassay was used to study the detection method of irradiated shrimp. Sandwich ELISA was formatted with monoclonal antibody (Ab) (M-IgG) and polyclonal Abs (P-IgG) and polyclonal Abs (P-IgG) individually produced against brown shrimp tropomyosin (TPM) as an antigen. When M-IgG was used as a coating Ab to capture TPM, and P-IgG were used as reaction Ab against captured TPM could be detected in the range of 12.5 to 50 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mL. Detected concentrations of TPM from irradiated shrimp decreased dose-dependently, and the concentration of Ag by combination of irradiation with heating or freezing treatments also decreased. This results suggests the possibility for Sandwich ELISA, one of immunological analyses, to be applied for detecting irradiated shrimp.

  • Almost all existing inspection methods for catenary system have relied on dedicated track inspection cars. Two factors make it necessary to modify the conventional method: First, the climate has become increasingly similar to that of a subtropical area. In addition, high speed trains have been developed that can run as fast as 450Km/h. This paper presents a visual catenary inspection system structure that incorporates roadbed information for high-speed running environments. Conventional catenary inspection systems determined the degree of wearing only for the trolley wire. The facility inspection system presented in this paper on the other hand utilizes visual and sound data of inspection targets and adjusts inspection frequency and sensitivity depending on the geographic data.

  • COSMOS system which was developed in Seoul for real-time signal control was designed to judge traffic condition for practicing signal operation. However, it occurs efficiency problem that stop line detection and queue length detection could not judge overflow saturation of street. For that reason, following research process GPS data of Seoul city's corporationowned taxi to calculate travel speed that excluded existing system of stop line detection and queue length detection. Also, "Research of calculating queue length by GPS data" which was progressed with following research expressed queue length. It is based on establishing algorithm of judging congestion situation. The algorithm was applied to a few areas where appeared congestion situation consistently to confirm real time traffic condition with established network.   • Given the daily tactical schedule, the purpose of the traffic management system is to develop operating plan that will achieve the stated schedule as best as possible. The operating plan has to be modified during the day because of occurring disturbance(e.g. delay, infrastructure breakdown, etc.) Conflict detection and resolution(CDRS) are aimed for adjusting the distorted schedule to tactical schedule. Our research separate CDRS into two hierarchy modules, line conflict control module and station conflict control module. We define the role of each modules and design the cooperative architecture. We suggest the conflict detection and resolution approach based on mathematical model. These results can be implemented as prototype modules.
