  • The purpose of this research is to explore the levels of luxury-frugality consumption of the female consumers and classify their types on luxury-frugality consumption behaviors. Total of 479 on-line questionnaires were surveyed nationwide for this research in February, 2012. Statistical analysis was achieved by using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, ${\chi}^2$, and Ward' hierarchical cluster analysis with a total of 479 questionnaires. The research results are summarized as follows: First, the overall luxury-frugality consumption average mark of female consumers was 2.44. Second, all surveyed female consumers were classified into four types based on the means scores of two dimension luxury-frugality consumption behaviors. A total 26.51% of female consumers belonged to Type 1 (named as luxury consumption group) where females scored high points on two dimension luxury consumption behaviors. Type 2 (named as excessive consumption group) occupied 32.78% and this group scored low on the luxurious consumption but high on the overconsumption. Type 3 (named as prefer prestige group) occupied 28.39% and this group scored low on the overconsumption but high on the luxurious consumption. Type 4 (named as frugal consumption group) had 12.32% of females whose scores of two dimension luxury-frugality consumption behaviors were low.

  • The identification of haplotypes, which encode SNPs in a single chromosome, makes it possible to perform a haplotype-based association test with diseases. Given a set of genotypes from a population, the process of recovering the haplotypes that explain the genotypes is called haplotype inference. We propose a new preprocessing algorithm for the haplotype inference by pure parsimony (HIPP). The proposed algorithm excludes a large amount of redundant candidate haplotypes by detecting some groups of haplotypes that are dispensable for optimal solutions. For the well-known synthetic and biological data, the experimental results of our method show that our method run much faster than other preprocessing methods. After applying our preprocessing results, the numbers of haplotypes of HIPP solvers are equal to or slightly larger than that of optimal solutions.

  • Iching has been taught people wisdoms of Sijung since it appeared in oriental society thousands years ago. Sijung means each of us meets the change of the present situation reasonably and practices the timely truth. The current society we've been living is infra-structured by various kinds of visible or invisible networks. This society is called 'network society' which is characteristic of inter-connectivity, interactivity, and complexity, etc. This thesis is to study whether and how the wisdoms of Iching can be helpful for behaviors in network society. For this, the meaning of several hexagrams and the new paradigm of network society were reviewed. Then, which hexagrams give what wisdoms to individuals, organizations, and difficult situations in network society was discussed. In network society, individuals are surfing internet, meeting, chatting, and making groups to implement meaningful works. To these, some hexagrams give wisdoms such as the ethics of rightness, the virtue of the mean. Organizations in network society should rebuild and reform inner suborganizations, cooperate with other organizations including citizen alliances, competing firms, and government organs. To these, some hexagrams give wisdoms such as faithfulness, considerateness, and completeness. Other hexagrams give also wisdoms such as neighborhood, non-selfishness, and self-discipline, to difficult situations lack in communication in network society.

  • The purpose of this study is to draw reasonable management plans to reinforce essence of Ohyundan(五賢壇: Five sprit tablets), a sacred site and monument of Jeju, by investigating and analyzing current status and problems of cultural landscape elements(e.g. architectural structures, installation, letters carved on the rocks, actual vegetation, etc.) while grasping placeness contained in Ohyundan through consideration of its history and transition process of Ohyundan a future being and shrine of Gyulrim Seowon(橘林書院) in Jeju. Results derived from research are summarized as follows. Ohyundan is noted due to its placeness in that it was a place for Gyulrim Seowon, Jeju's one and only Saaek Seowon(賜額書 院) and it was a symbolic space of exile culture in Jeju. As it is inferred from Gyulrim Seowon, which is dangho(堂號: clan name) of Seowon, orchards surrounding all over places are a signature landscape element that shows placeness of the past Ohyundan. Joduseok(俎豆石: altar stone), representing a core installation of Ohyundan and ancestral tablet of five spirits, created a refined place by putting up common stones around altar and founding blocked stones to wall. This refinement and thrift served basic mind of Neo-Confucianism, and led to of Jeju's Jonyang mind(spend-thrift mind). In conclusion, a practice plan is a prerequisite to restore essence of Ohyundan by actively excluding installations not suitable for placeness or overly designed such as Jeju Hyangrodang(a center for the elderly) and numerous monument houses. On the other hand, together with Joduseok, as letters carved on the rocks such as 'Jeungjoo Byukrip(曾朱壁立)' and 'Gwangpoongdae(光風臺)' and Yoocheonseok serve as a signature landscape that well shows mind of five spirits and teaching of Neo-Confucianism, and also a trace from a confucian viewpoint deeply rooted in Jeju, they are judged as a cultural landscape corresponding to the essence of place in Ohyundan which requires proactive preservation and plans for public relations. Together with this, although many different old big trees such as Pinus densiflora , Pinus thunbergii, Quercus variabilis, Celtis sinenis, Zelkova serrata and Rhus succedanea are a landscape element that increases sacred Ohyundan and commemorative value, now required is thorough entity tree management by assigning serial number on them as many of them were dead or removed resulting from transition process of land use. Further, to reinforce quality of site location belonging to Gyulrim Seowon, a prerequsite is to review plans that create Gyulrim at reinstalled site of building and raw land.

Although women who were remarkable in premodern period nurtured their son well and they became excellent, it's easy that the life of their mother can be hidden by sons' shadow. Luckily, materials of Mrs. Yun were kept by her descendants, so people could analogize how she could endure difficulties and how she educate her children. During the tribulation, Mrs. Yun was in charge of not only parents supporting but also two sons' education excellently. She educated not only her children but also grandchildren and nephews around her, so she had extraordinary passion and sincerity for the education. As the result, she enjoyed a glory that two sons and grandchildren became on daejehak. Mrs. Yun was living with thrift and saving continuously regardless of her circumstances. When her granddaughter became inkyungwanghoo who is a wife of sookjong, she didn't kick her common habit and trained strictly the mind of family members who could be easily in disorder. In spite of the richness, he obeyed manners and showed thrift and saving continuously and thoroughly. When there was a crisis in her family, the first son, Kim, Man Ki was died and the second son, Kim, Man Joong and grandson went into exile during the continuous political upheaval. But, she supported her house, obeyed the rules and promised the future. At that time, she continuously encouraged grandchildren and the eldest grandsons of the head family to study without any stop for themselves in spite of the difficulties. Mrs. Yun pursued truly valuable life. She considered that the life which didn't get praised by other people wasn't valid although he or she lived a pleasant life in luck and richness. Mrs. Yun was a true teacher yeosa (女師) who placed a true value on the life enduring hardship and poorness without fear and becoming an example of other people.
