In this paper, we propose a new descriptor for 3D model retrieval based on shape information. The proposed method consists of two steps including ray casting method and spherical harmonic function, considering geometric properties of model. In the ray casting method, an adaptive sampling is performed for external shape information. By increasing shape information included in the descriptor, we improve the discriminating power of the proposed descriptor. The coefficients of spherical harmonic function are adaptively calculated, considering geometric frequency characteristics. This makes the descriptor more compact and concise without decreasing the retrieval performance. By combining two methods, we achieve more improved retrieval results.

최근 교육에서 대두 되고 있는 중요한 문제는 학습자 중심의 맞춤형 교육이 이루어져야 한다는 것이다. 이러한 요구를 만족 시킬 수 있는 방법 중 하나는 학습자의 역량을 고려하여 학습을 진행하는 것이다. 역량 기반의 학습을 진행하기 위해서는 학습자의 역량을 분석하는 방법과 부족한 역량을 효율적으로 계발 할 수 있는 콘텐츠를 제시하는 방법이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 e-learning에서 역량 기반의 학습이 진행됨을 가정하고 많은 SCORM 콘텐츠들이 공유되고 있을 때 학습자의 역량을 고려하여 가장 적합한 콘텐츠를 검색하는 시스템을 온톨로지를 통해 구현하였다. 또한 사용자 만족도를 높이기 위하여 온톨로지 기반 검색 시스템이 선택한 콘텐츠 정보를 마이닝 하였다. 그 결과로 검색되는 콘텐츠에 순위를 부여하여 학습자에게 좀 더 적합한 콘텐츠를 제시 할 수 있도록 하였다.

본 논문에서는 3차원 모델을 검색하기 위한 형태 기반 기술자를 추출하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 모델의 기하학적인 특성을 고려하여 레이 캐스팅 샘플링과 구면조화함수를 이용하는 방법이다. 레이 캐스팅 기법은 모델의 외형을 고려한 적응적인 방법으로 샘플링 하여 기술자에 포함되는 형태 정보를 증가시켜 기술자의 식별성을 높인다. 또한 구면조화함수 계수 추출에서는 기하학적인 주파수 특성을 고려하여 적응적인 계수를 추출한다. 이 방법은 검색 성능에 영향을 미치지 않고 기술자를 조밀하고 간결하게 만든다. 최종적으로 두 방법을 결합함으로써 검색 엔진에서 이용 가능한 기술자를 생성한다. 실험 결과에서는 제안된 알고리즘의 성능이 기존 방법에 비해 약 $12.5\%$ 향상 된 것을 확인 할 수 있다.

Information retrieval is one of the most challenging areas in which the ontology technology is effectively used. Among them image retrieval using the image meta data and ontology is the one that can substitute the keyword-based image retrieval. In the paper, the retrieval of visual media such as the art image and photo picture is handled. It is assumed that there are more than one service providers of the visual media and also there is one central service broker that mediates the user's query. Given the user's query the first step that must be done in the service broker is to get the list of candidate service providers that fit the query. This is done by defining various ontologies such as the service ontology and matching the query against the ontology and providers. A novel matching method based on the ASN.1. The experiment shows that the method is more effective than existing tree-based and interval-based methods. Ontology merging issue is also handled that can happen when the service providers register their service into the service broker. An effective method is also proposed.

In this paper, search result list synthesis method is proposed using borda count method for still image retrieval based on MPEG-7 descriptors. MPEG-7 standardizes descriptors that extract feature information from media data. In many cases, using a single descriptor lacks of correctness, it is suggested to use multiple descriptors to enhance retrieval efficiency. In this paper, retrieval efficiency enhancement is achieved by combining multiple search results which are from each descriptor. In combining search result, newly calculated borda count method is proposed. Comparing current frequency compensated calculation, rank considered frequency compensation is used to score animage in database. This combining method is considered in Content based image retrieval system with relevance feedback algorithm which uses high level information from system user. In each relevance iteration step, adoptive borda count method is used to calculate score of images.

Image Search is one of the most exciting and fast growing research areas in the filed of multimedia technology. This paper conducts an empirical evaluation of color descriptor that uses the information of color distribution in color images, which is the most basic element for image search. With the experimental results, we observe that in the top 10% of precision, HSV, Daubechies 9/7 and 2 level decomposition have little better than others. Also histogram quadratic metrics outperform the Minkowski form distance metrics in similarity measurements, but spend more than 20 in computational times.

This paper compares two different approaches based on wavelet and Gabor decomposition towards representing the texture of an arbitrary region. The Gabor-domain mean and standard deviation combination is considered to be best in representing the texture of rectangular regions. However, texture representation of arbitrary regions would enable generalized object-based image retrieval and other applications in the future. In this study, we have found that the wavelet features perform better than the Gabor features in representing the texture of arbitrary regions. Particularly, the wavelet-domain standard deviation and entropy combination results in the best retrieval accuracy. Based on our experiment with texture image sets, we present and compare tile retrieval accuracy of multiple wavelet and Gabor feature combinations.

비디오 데이터를 효율적으로 처리하기 위해서는 비디오 데이터가 가지고 있는 내용에 대한 정보를 데이터베이스에 저장하고 사용자들의 다양한 질의를 처리할 수 있는 의미기반 검색 기법이 요구된다. 기존의 내용기반 비디오 검색 시스템들은 주석기반 검색 또는 특징기반 검색과 같은 단일 방식으로만 검색을 하므로 검색 효율이 낮을 뿐 아니라 완전한 자동 처리가 되지 않아 시스템 관리자나 주석자의 많은 노력을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 주석기반 검색과 특징기반 검색을 이용하여 대용량의 비디오 데이터에 대한 사용자의 다양한 의미검색을 지원하는 에이전트 기반에서의 자동화되고 통합된 비디오 의미기반 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 사용자의 기본적인 질의와 질의에 의해 추출된 키 프레임의 이미지를 선택함으로써 에이전트는 추출된 키 프레임의 주석에 대한 의미를 더욱 구체화시킨다. 또한, 사용자에 의해 선택된 키 프레임은 질의 이미지가 되어 제안하는 특징기반 검색기법을 통해 가장 유사한 키 프레임을 검색한다. 따라서 의미기반 검색을 통해 비디오 데이터의 검색의 효율을 높일 수 있도록 시스템은 설계한다.

인터넷의 성장과 함께 전자적인 형태로 표현되는 정보의 양이 급격하게 증가함에 따라, 문서를 병렬적으로 검색하는 병렬 정보 검색이 많은 양의 문서에 대한 빠른 검색을 지원하는 것에 있어 더욱 중요한 역활을 하고 있다. 병렬 정보 검색 시스템을 구현하기 위해서는 역 색인을 분활하고 분활된 역 색인을 병렬적으로 검색하는 것이 필요하다 역 색인을 분활하는 방법으로는 다음과 같은 두 가지 방법이 있다: 1) 문서 식별자를 기반으로 하는 분활 방법과 2) 키워드 식별자를 기반으로 하는 분활 방법. 그러나 각 방법은 단점들을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 정보 검색 기능이 밀결합된 데이터베이스 관리 시스템인 오디세우스를 사용하여 병렬 정보 검색 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 첫째로, 기존의 역 색인 분할 방법을 분석하고 각 분말 방법의 단점들을 보완할 수 있는 혼합 분활 방법을 제안한다. 둘째로, 많은 양의 문서에 대해 성능 저하의 원인이 되는 대형 포스팅을 분할 하는 방법을 제안한다. 마지막으로 제안된 시스템의 유용성을 보이기 위해 실험을 수행한다. 예제 데이터베이스로서는 이백만 건의 웹 페이지를 사용한다. 실험 결과, 질의 저리 시간이 역 색인 분말의 블록의 개수에 근사하게 비례하여 줄어들고 시스템이 좋은 확장성을 가짐을 보인다.

기존의 내용기반 비디오 검색 시스템들을 주석기반 검색 또는 특징기반 검색과 같은 단일 방식으로만 검색을 하므로 검색 효율이 낮을 뿐 아니라 완전한 자동 처리가 되지 않아 시스템 관리자나 주석자의 많은 노력을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 주석기반 검색을 이용하여 대용량의 비디오 데이터에 대한 사용자의 다양한 의미검색을 지원하는 에이전트 기반에서의 자동화되고 통합된 비디오 의미기반 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 사용자의 기본적인 질의를 분석하고 질의에 의해 추출된 키 프레임의 이미지를 사용자가 선택함으로써 인덱싱 에이전트는 추출된 키 프레임의 주석에 대한 의미를 더욱 구체화시킨다.
