  • In this study, a direct tensile test was planned to identify the tensile performance of UHPC, and the irregularity of cracks, which is a problem of the direct tensile test, was complemented through the introduction of notches at the center of a specimen. In this regard, a number of specimens divided by batch to reduce the deviation of direct tensile test values were fabricated to present reference data with respect to highly reliable direct tensile strength values. In addition, the mechanical properties and reliability of the specimens were examined under the curing conditions of the specified design strength of 120MPa for the steel fiber reinforced concrete with 1.5% fiber volume fraction, which is most suitable for the field application. As a result, the deviation of averages by batch between compressive strength and direct tensile strength did not show a large difference, and all cracks occurred within 20mm in the direct tensile test. At the 95% confidence interval of the direct tensile strength, the range was considerably small in the mean and the standard deviation, and there was no significant difference depending on the curing conditions. The results confirmed that a stable direct tensile test was performed, and highly reliable results were obtained through the fabrication of specimens by batch and test progress.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the landscaping repair work classification, the standard for securing the independence of and establishing the scope of landscaping repair works. Standard construction specifications currently specify the landscaping repair work classification around the planting construction, while standard work estimate does not include the field of landscaping. The landscaping construction specifications and the standard work estimate in the construction industry should be, however, applied, so it is difficult to specifically understand what is the landscaping repair work classification in the cultural heritage industry. From 1961 to 1980, not only the tree planting but also a variety of landscaping facilities had been specified as the landscaping repair works, and it was found that all of these work classifications are established as the landscaping repair work classifications in the construction industry. A total of 20 work classifications were verified by comprehensively arranging those specified in notices of tender for working drawing services for cultural heritages during three years, from 2018 to 2020, except for those for the maintenance and Dancheong of architectures, plant protection and conservation. All 20 work classifications corresponded to the landscaping work classifications in the construction industry. On the basis of the landscaping work classifications in the construction industry, this study divided the landscaping repair work classifications into site-building and shaping, planting work, facility construction, paving work, ecological landscape architectural construction and vegetation maintenance, by considering the specialty of cultural heritage space.

  • Burglary (also called breaking and entering and sometimes housebreaking) is a crime, the essence of which is illegal entry into a building for the purposes of committing an offence. It is one of the most common types of crime and also a serious issue for every society. A house that is left insecure is an accessible and attractive target for burglars and therefore burglary resistance test & certification system for doors and windows has been developed in many countries. This paper explores several advanced foreign burglary resistance test/certifcation cases (the British SBD, the Dutch KOMO SKH/SKG, the Japanese CP mark, the Australian Standard Certification) for security products and domestic test/certification systems for fire safety products as a comparative study so that any improvement points can be gained for South Korea in the field of security product performance. The comparative analysis results show that South Korea is far behind the security product certification system and needs a lot of improvement in the system by benchmarking foreign cases. The domestic test/certification systems for fire safety products also give some insights for burglary-related security products' performance certification system in Korea. Overall, the need for relevant rules and regulations, the establishment of standards regarding testing and certification, including certified security +hardware product in building security certification system, performance testing as well as production testing (i.e. quality management system evaluation), the basic competency of testers, incentive system for certified/high quality security products were suggested in order to make an optimal model for the security production performance testing and certification system in Korea.
