Deduction of Considerations During Design and Construction by Analysing Domestic and Abroad Case Analysis of Freeform Building Envelope (국내외 비정형 건축물 외피시스템 사례 분석을 통한 설계 및 시공시 고려사항 도출)

  • Recently, architectural design has been changing from formal design to freeform design due to the digitalization of construction industry. Especially, the formal design has been accepted as a design trend recently and applied many times as a design concept in the architectural design competitions such as turn-key. However, various deflects such as water leak and cracks have been occurred because the traditional construction methods had been applied without any revision or adaptation of the formal construction method for the freeform building construction. Design and construction of freeform building has been developed as an new method in order to solve the problems and minimize the construction duration and cost for the freeform building. Therefore this research deduced the positive implications for developing freefrom envelope by analyzing the domestic and abroad cases and proposed the considerations during design and construction of the freeform envelope as follows. First, the freeform design should consider the constructability for the freeform envelope. Second, manufacturing technology for the two-way curvature of the unit panel should be developed. Third, exposed concrete form method should be developed for the freeform envelope of concrete. Forth, material characteristics, construction method and facility management should be considered in order to manage precipitation and keep water-proof according to the classification of the freeform envelope area.

  • With the development of science and technology in recent years, various types of unstructured buildings have begun to be implemented by combining traditional architectural styles with digital tools, which are significantly different from conventional formal buildings. Designers will use various methods or digital tools to complete the unstructured and freer architectural forms when building an unstructured building. Based on this background, the need for research on the criteria for evaluating the characteristics of unstructured architectural forms is raised. First, the text was reconstructed by considering and integrating the elements of the unstructured exterior form based on prior research, with the external form of the unstructured building as the main research object. Second, the purpose of this study was to classify various types of unstructured forms and to provide important basic data for designing digital processes of unstructured architectural forms.Third, from 2000 to 2020, the text focused on the study of unstructured buildings and conducted in-depth analysis of the characteristics of their form expressions. While providing a case basis for the study of related fields, distribution laws and presence values related to the characteristics of unstructured buildings were sought. In addition, the analysis was conducted in combination with the distribution of functional use of buildings, and this study is differentiated from the existing research in that the atypical form is applied to the buildings by use, and the application trend of this type is understood to enhance understanding of the atypical form of buildings.

An Examination of Japanese Modes Expressed in American Spatial Design (미국 건축 및 조경디자인에 나타난 일본양식에 관한 고찰)

  • 본 연구는 미국의 건축 및 조경공간 형성에 미친 일본문화를 파악하기 위한 기초연구로서, 일본문화 및 공간디자인의 특성과 미국건축 및 조경에 나타난 그 면모에 관한 것이다. 1853년 미국과 일본의 문화교류를 시작으로 일본의 예술과 건축이 미국에 소개되었고, 특히 1893년 Chicago에서 열렸던 Wor1ds Columbian Exposition에서 선보인 일본의 건축물은 당시 미국의 건축가들에게 영향을 주었다. 그후 일본의 공간디인은 건축뿐만 아니라 조경분야에도 영향을 미쳐 현재 미국의 공간디자인을 구성하고 있는 특성 가운데 하나로 자리잡고 있다. 필자는 미국의 공간디자인에 영향을 준 일본문화의 실재를 파악하기 위하여 한국과 중국의 문화와 구별되는 일본만의 독특한 문화적 특성을 고찰해보고, 미국 현대건축의 선구자인 Frank Lloyd Wright, Greece and Greene, Philip Johnson, Richard J. Neutra의 작품 및 조경디자이너인 Ethelbert E. Furlong, James C. Rose의 작품속에 나타난 일본식 공간디자인의 면모를 살펴보았다. 장래 이 분야의 연구에서는 미국문화의 특성이 고찰되어 미국과 일본의 두 문화가 비교 파악되기 위한 개념적 근거가 마련되고, 일본식 공간디자인이 미국에서 어떻게 이해되고 해석되어졌으며 미국식 공간 디자인으로 전환되었는지 살펴보며, 어떤 이유에서 일본의 공간디자인 양식이 미국의 건축 및 조경분야에서 문화적으로 일본보다 오랜 역사를 지닌 한국과 중국의 공간디자인 양식보다 커다란 영향을 주고 있는지에 관해 이해를 구하는 방향으로 연구가 수행되어야 함을 제안한다.

  • 플로팅건축물은 최근 지구온난화에 따른 해수면의 상승, 소득 증대 및 관광행태 변화에 따라 급증한 해양 레포츠 수요에 대응하는 효과적인 건축물이다. 플로팅건축은 프로그램, 형태, 건축규모, 층수, 위치, 접근방법, 이동성, 에너지 자립도 등 8가지 기준에 따라 유형 구분이 가능하다. 또한 시공된 주거시설을 대상으로 분석한 결과 플로팅건축의 디자인 특성은 (1) 2층 규모, (2) 면적 비율이 높은 데크, (3) 장방형의 균형감 있는 매스, (4) 조망 극대화, (5) 친수공간 확보, (6) 공간의 통합적 사용 및 합리적 면적 배분의 평면계획, (7) 수면 반사를 고려한 단면계획, (8) 모듈화 및 유닛화 등으로 정리할 수 있다.

  • The architectural design process is consisted of the phase of programming and the phase of the design. The contemporary architectural scheme, as a datascape, a rhizome structure and a diagram, is based on the concept of modern physics. And it is applied on the phase of design by synthesizing data. Like this, the design of the architectural field is accomplished in the phase of design. For design of the architectural field, the characteristics of the architectural field is considered as the viewpoint of design in the procedure. First, according to the area which is defined by relations of environments, around architectures and so on, the net system of relations is designed as area. Second, design the linkage between building and space, building and building, space and space, according to the correspondence each other. Third, design the method or form of connecting building and space to one as a building and a space are no longer divided but are understood by one. As a result, for the design of architectural field, it is necessary to define the criteria by the characteristics of architectural field and the architectural field is designed by process.

  • Currently, image of floating architecture has been positively improved based on the normalization of a domestic representative floating building 'Some Sevit'. Features of the floating architecture are as follows: special experience (29.9%)> landmark (27.6%)> enjoyment of marine culture (21.5%)> center for tourism and regional development (16.0%)> eco-friendly space solving global warming (4.8%). Floating building has a distinctive image and at the same time offers a unique spatial experience to the public. Therefore, space design marketing of floating building is a communication process to exchange its spatial identity and image between the local government and the public, the corporation and customers. It is essential for the effective space design marketing that the spatial demands should be reflected into its program such as commercial, cultural and marina facilities. The unification of project leader and operator is also important. The transformed conditions would help the construction market to be active in the future.
