Shrinkage strains of concrete slab in multi-story building are restrained by structural members such as columns or walls, then can induce cracks due to excessive shrinkage stress over tensile strength of member. In this study, a shrinkage stress analysis method of concrete slab in multi-story building considering not only material properties such as shrinkage, creep and reinforcement effect but also construction sequence is proposed. Tensile stresses of slab due to shrinkage are calculated by converting shrinkage strains into equivalent temperature gradients, creep that can release shrinkage stress can be considered by replacing the modulus of elasticity of concrete, Ec , to the effective secant modulus of elasticity of concrete, E$\_$eff/ Reinforcements are also considered by modeling them as equivalent beam elements in FEM program. Results of step by step analysis reflecting construction sequence summed up to calculate stresses of the whole building considering that shrinkage stresses of the building come from the difference of shrinkage between i-th floor and (i-1)-th floor, named as effecitive shrinkage, and it can be varied by construction sequence. The results of 10-story example building show that shrinkage stresses of lower floors are greater than those of upper floors, that is, stresses of lower floors(1∼2FI.) exceed modulus of rupture of concrete, but stress ratios of higher floors are in the range of 27.9∼92.8%.

Drying Shrinkage has much complexity as it has relations with both internal elements of concrete and external factors. Therefore, experiments on Concrete Drying Shrinkage are carried out in this study under simplified circumstances applying temperature & Humidity test chamber which enables constant temperature and humidity. Comparative analyses have been made respectively according to the consequences aiming at modelling for prediction of Concrete Drying Shrinkage and making out measures to reduce it. Strain Rate of Drying Shrinkage of concrete under the condition of dry air appears to rise by about 20%-30% in proportion as the temperature rises $5^{\circ}C$ when the humidity was held below 10% compared under the condition of dry temperature & Humidity test chamber. Strain Rate of Drying Shrinkage in pit sand concrete increased 20% higher than measured when in river sand under the condition of 90-day material age. A general formula with two variables is derived as follow ${\varepsilon}={\alpha}_1+{\beta}_1x_1+{\beta}_2x_2+{\beta}_3x_1^2+{\beta}_5x_2^2$. and also graphed in 3 dimensions, enabling to apply to actual design and predict Strain Rate of Drying Shrinkage in concrete. The results of prediction of Rate of Drying Shrinkage by Response Surface Analysis are as follows. The coefficient of correlation of Drying Shrinkage in Concrete was over 90%.

Shrinkage is one of typical characteristics of concrete with cement paste and aggregates. A lot of studies on this has been conducted with an assumption that the concrete is a homogeneous material. However, as shrinkage acts on only one of the components that consist of concrete, it is hard to be characterized only by the average effective properties. Therefore, in this paper, the concrete shrinkage, which is one of the typical characteristics and still has a lot of uncertainty, is simulated considering its heterogeneous properties. Using a meso model, concrete is modeled with the combination of mortar and aggregates, and the shrinkage is simulated by applying the shrinkage strain on the mortar only. According to the results, it is shown that the cracking of shrinking concrete is largely influenced by the types of aggregates and the degree of restraint. Also, the shrinkage cracking cannot be represented only by the single values such as tensile strength since the stiffness of aggregates and the degree of restraint influence the cracking.

Internal or external restraint of concrete strain due to drying shrinkage and creep in concrete structures causes mechanical strain and becomes a source of persistent change in creep-causing stress conditions. Mathematical modeling to incorporate the persistent change of creep-inducing stress is generally achieved with consideration of the ages of concrete and concrete properties at the times of loadings, and stress history. This paper presents an incremental format of creep model based on parallel creep concept to depict the creep under time-varying stress history in developing creep strain. Laboratory experiments are carried out to validate the performance of the presented creep model. Typical creep phenomena are addressed through the comparisons between the measured and predicted creep strains.

Humidity and strain were estimated for understanding the relation between humidity change by self-desiccation and shrinkage in high-performance concrete with low water binder ratio and containing fly ash and blast furnace slag. Internal humidity change and shrinkage strain were about 10%, 10%, 7%, 11%, 11% and $320{\times}10^{-6}$, $270{\times}10^{-6}$, $231{\times}10^{-6}$, $371{\times}10^{-6}$, $350{\times}10^{-6}$ respectively on OPC30, O30F10, O30F20, O30G40, O30G50 and from the results, fly ash made humidity change and strain decrease but slag increase comparing with ordinary portland cement. Considering only relation internal humidity and shrinkage by self-desiccation, humidity change and shrinkage represented the strong linear relation regardless of mineral admixture. For specifying the relation on internal humidity change and autogenous shrinkage strain, shrinkage model was established which is driven by capillary pressure in pore water and surface energy in hydrates on the assumption of a single network and extended meniscus in pore system of concrete. This model and experimental results had a similar tendency so it would be concluded that the internal humidity change by self-desiccation in HPC originated in small pores less than 20nm, therefore controlling plan on autogenous shrinkage might be focused on surface tension of water and degree of saturation in small pore.
Humidity and strain were estimated for understanding the relation between humidity change by self-desiccation and shrinkage in high-performance concrete with low water binder ratio. Internal humidity change and shrinkage strain were about 10%, 4% and $320\times10^{-6}$, $120\times10^{-6}$ respectively on concrete with water binder ratio 0.3, 0.4 and from the results, humidity change and shrinkage represented the strong linear relation regardless of mixture. When the structural analysis is performed for the concrete lining of the water pressure tunnel, many parameters are considered such as relaxed ground loads, internal water pressure, external water pressure, the shrinkage of the concrete lining, grouting pressure, etc. But, there are no standards and manuals for the structural analysis for the concrete lining of the water pressure tunnel. Above all, the external water pressure has an much effect on the stability of tunnel. So, in case that permeability of ground is large, the external water pressure should be decreased by installation of weep hole, or reinforced ground by ground improvement grouting should be pressed by the external water pressure instead. But, when weep hole is installed to reduce the external water pressure, the many problems may me occurred. Thus, reasonable approach for treatment of the external water pressure is necessary if weep hole is not installed. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze design cases and studies for treatment of the external water pressure in performing structural analysis for the concrete lining of the water pressure tunnel, and to find reasonable method for tunnel lining modeling which is the treatment of the external water pressure according to permeability of ground and consequently the design of ground improvement grouting.
With consideration of the ongoing construction of high-rise buildings, it is becoming increasingly important to be able to accurately predict the behavior of them on the stage of design, construction and service. Even though many researchers have developed the analysis method to predict the behavior of high-rise buildings, their studies were based on the two dimensional frame structures composed of line elements such as beams and columns. Recently the high-rise buildings with flat-plate system is widely used because of its advantages. In this study a three dimensional analysis method is developed to analyze the behavior of the high-rise buildings with flat-plate system since it is difficult to model the structural systems reasonably with the existing two dimensional analysis method. The analysis method considered the construction sequence including the temporary work such as installation of form, removal of form, installation of shore, and removal of shore. Line elements were used to describe columns, beams, and shores and plate elements were used to model slabs. The creep and drying shrinkage of concrete were also considered to account for the inelastic behavior of concrete.
