Continuous Excavation Type TBM Parts Modification and Control Technology for Improving TBM Performance (TBM 굴진향상을 위한 연속굴착형 TBM 부품개조 및 제어기술 소개)

  • The existing NATM (New Austrian Tunneling Method) has induced civil compliants due to blasting vibration and noise. Machanized excavation methods such as TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) are being adopted in the planning and construction of tunneling projects. Shield TBM method is composed of repetition processes of TBM excavation and segment installation, the machine has to be stopped during the later process. Consecutive excavation technology using helical segment is under developing to minimize the stoppage time. The modification of thrust jacks and module are planned to ensure the advance force acting on the inclined surface of helical segment. Also, the integrated system design of hydraulic circuit will be remodeled. This means that the system deactivate the jacks on the installing segment while the others automatically act the thrusting forces on the existing segments. This report briefly introduces the mechanical research part of the current consecutive excavation technological development project of TBM.

Development of Return flow rate Prediction Algorithm with Data Variation based on LSTM (LSTM기반의 자료 변동성을 고려한 하천수 회귀수량 예측 알고리즘 개발연구)

  • The countermeasure for the shortage of water during dry season and drought period has not been considered with return flowrate in detail. In this study, the outflow of STP was predicted through a data-based machine learning model, LSTM. As the first step, outflow, inflow, precipitation and water elevation were utilized as input data, and the distribution of variance was additionally considered to improve the accuracy of the prediction. When considering the variability of the outflow data, the residual between the observed value and the distribution was assumed to be in the form of a complex trigonometric function and presented in the form of the optimal distribution of the outflow along with the theoretical probability distribution. It was apparently found that the degree of error was reduced when compared to the case not considering where the variance distribution. Therefore, it is expected that the outflow prediction model constructed in this study can be used as basic data for establishing an efficient river management system as more accurate prediction is possible.

Sensory Evaluation of Friction and Viscosity Rendering with a Wearable 4 Degrees of Freedom Force Feedback Device Composed of Pneumatic Artificial Muscles and Magnetorheological Fluid Clutches

  • With the progress in virtual reality technology, various virtual objects can be displayed using head-mounted displays (HMD). However, force feedback sensations such as pushing against a virtual object are not possible with an HMD only. Focusing on force feedback, desktop-type devices are generally used, but the user cannot move in a virtual space because such devices are fixed on a desk. With a wearable force feedback device, users can move around while experiencing force feedback. Therefore, the authors have developed a wearable force feedback device using a magnetorheological fluid clutch and pneumatic rubber artificial muscle, aiming at presenting the elasticity, friction, and viscosity of an object. To date, we have developed a wearable four-degree-of-freedom (4-DOF) force feedback device and have quantitatively evaluated that it can present commanded elastic, frictional, and viscous forces to the end effector. However, sensory evaluation with a human has not been performed. In this paper, therefore, we conduct a sensory evaluation of the proposed method. In the experiment, frictional and viscous forces are rendered in a virtual space using a 4-DOF force feedback device. Subjects are asked to answer questions on a 1- to 7-point scale, from 1 (not at all) to 4 (neither) to 7 (strongly). The Wilcoxon signed rank test was used for all data, and answer 4 (neither) was used as compared standard data. The experimental results confirmed that the user could feel the presence or absence of viscous and frictional forces. However, the magnitude of those forces was not sensed correctly.

Verification of Control Algorithm for Removing Oil Contaminant Factor from Proportional Pressure Control Valve (전자식 비례 압력제어밸브 내 오일 오염 입자 제거 제어 알고리즘 검증)

  • An electro proportional pressure control valve is mainly used to control the clutch of an agricultural tractor's automatic transmission. During transmission, the operating, hydraulic oil is mix with many kinds of contaminants. The contaminants can be trapped between the valve body and spool of the proportional pressure control valve leading to abnormal operating conditions and finally critical damage to the transmission hydraulic system. The present study aimed to verify the valve control algorithm as a basic study of developing control logic that removes contaminants between the spool and the body of the proportional pressure control valve. To develop the algorithm, MATLAB/SIMULINK was used. PWM method was used to control the applied solenoid coil current. The effectiveness of the algorithm was verified by comparing the actual pressure of the normal valve with the actual pressure of the abnormal valve. Based on the present study findings, when the algorithm was applied, the response of the valve pressure according to the current became stable and oil contaminated particles were removed. In the future study, the control algorithm will be optimized for the stability of the proportional pressure reducing valve, and it will be verified in consideration with the driving of the clutch.

Transmission Efficiency of Dual-clutch Transmission in Agricultural Tractors (농업용 트랙터 듀얼 클러치 변속기의 동력전달 효율 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study was to conduct basic research on the development of a dual-clutch transmission(DCT) and automatic transmission for agricultural tractors. The DCT layout and the DCT simulation model were developed using commercial software. Power transmission efficiency of the DCT and component power loss were analyzed to verify the developed simulation model. Power loss analysis of the components was conducted according to previous studies and ISO(International Organization for Standardization) standards. The power transmission efficiency of the DCT simulation model was 68.4-91.5% according to the gear range. The power loss in the gear, bearing, and clutch DCT system components was 0.75-1.49 kW, 0.77-2.99 kW, and 5.24-10.52 kW, respectively. The developed simulation model not include the rear axle, differential gear, final reduction gear. Therefore actual power transmission efficiency of DCT will be decreased. In a future study, an actual DCT can be developed through the simulation model in this study, and optimization design of DCT can be possible by comparing simulation results and actual vehicle test.

Analysis of Engine Load Factor for a 78 kW Class Agricultural Tractor According to Agricultural Operations (농작업에 따른 78 kW급 농업용 트랙터 엔진 부하율 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to calculate and analyze the engine load factor of major agricultural operations using a 78 kW class agricultural tractor for estimating the emission of air pollutants and greenhouse. Engine load data were collected using controller area network (CAN) communication. Main agricultural operations were selected as plow tillage (PT), rotary tillage (RT), baler operation (BO), loader operation (LO), driving on soil (DS), and driving on concrete (DC). The engine power was calculated using the measured engine load data. A weight factor was applied to load factor for considering usage ratio according to agricultural operations. Weight factors for different agricultural operations were calculated to be 27.4%, 32.9%, 17.5%, 7.7%, 4.5%, and 10.0% for PT, RT, BO, LO, DS, and DC, respectively. As a result of the field test, load factors were 0.74, 0.93, 0.41, 0.23, 0.27, and 0.21 for PT, RT, BO, LO, DS, and DC, respectively. The engine load factor was the highest for RT. Finally, as a result of applying the weight factor for usage ratio of agricultural operations, the integrated engine load factor was estimated to be 0.63, which was about 1.31 times higher than the conventional applied load factor of 0.48. In future studies, we plan to analyze the engine load factor by considering various horsepower and working conditions of the tractor.

Development and Validation of Simulation Model for Traction Power and Driving Torque Prediction of Upland Multipurpose Platform (밭농업용 다목적 플랫폼의 견인동력 및 구동토크 예측을 위한 시뮬레이션 모델 개발 및 검증)

  • Although the upland field area of Korea is high as 44.8%, the platform optimized for the upland field is insufficient. It is necessary to develop an optimized platform for the upland field because the upland field environment is an irregular environment with many slopes. In addition, due to the characteristic of agricultural operations, the traction power and torque of the platform have to be sufficient. Therefore, in this study, a simulation model that can predict the traction power and driving torque of a crawler-type platform for the upland field was developed and validated using the specifications of the crawler platform. The simulation model was developed using Amesim (19.1, Siemens, Germany). The development of the model was conducted using the specifications of the platform. A measurement system was developed to validate the simulation model. The traction power data of the simulation model was validated with the traction force and vehicle speed. The driving torque data of the simulation model was validated with the torque of the sprocket on the crawler system. As a result of the analysis, the error between measurement and simulation results occurred within 10%, and it was determined that the traction power and driving torque prediction of the crawler platform using this model was possible.

Soil moisture and agricultural drought index estimation based on synthetic aperture radar images for the next-generation water resources satellite application technology development (차세대 수자원위성 활용기술 개발을 위한 영상레이더 기반의 토양수분 및 농업적 가뭄지수 산정)

  • 제3차 우주개발 진흥 기본계획의 일환으로써 개발되는 차세대 중형위성 5호인 수자원위성은 수자원/수재해 감시 전용 위성으로 2025년 발사 예정이다. 수자원위성의 메인 센서인 C-band 영상레이더(Synthetic Aperture Radar, SAR)는 기상조건 및 주야 상관없이 지표면 관측이 가능한 센서로 급변하는 수재해 양상에 효과적으로 대응하기 위해 탑재된 센서이다. 본 연구사업은 차세대 수자원위성의 효과적 활용 방안 및 SAR 자료기반의 활용산출물 및 주제도 서비스를 위한 알고리즘 구조설계 및 표출시스템 시범개발을 목표로 하고 있으며, 홍수/가뭄/안전/환경모니터링을 주제로 수자원 및 원격탐사 분야의 다학제적 전문가들로 구성된 컨소시엄을 구성하여 추진하고 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 가뭄 모니터링을 위해 개발 중인 SAR 기반 토양수분과 농업적 가뭄지수 산정 알고리즘 개발 및 공간적 표출을 포함한다. 토양수분은 SAR 영상에서 지표피복별로 추출된 후방산란계수와 수문학적 개념의 융합을 통해 논/밭/산림에 대해 산정한다. 물리적 특성에 기반한 변화탐지모델을 활용해 토양수분량을 추출 후, 기계학습기법과 S C S - C N 방법에서 파생된 수문학적 개념 5일 선행강우량과 결합한 토양수분 산정 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 산정된 토양수분을 기반으로, 논 지역은 벼 재배에 따른 담수 시기를 고려한 토양의 포화/불포화상태, 밭 지역은 토양 종류에 따른 토양의 물리적 특성, 산림 지역은 수문학적 개념 및 식생지수를 활용하여 가뭄 판단 기준을 구축하고, 가뭄의 해갈 여부와 해갈되는 시점의 강우량을 산정 가능한 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 개발된 가뭄 모니터링 기법은 향후 고도화, 최적화 및 안정화를 통해 수자원위성의 핵심 활용기술로써 구현할 계획이다.

Development of a multi-purpose driving platform for Radish and Chinese cabbage harvester (무·배추 수확 작업을 위한 다목적 주행플랫폼 개발)

  • Radish and Chinese cabbage are the most produced and consumed vegetables in Korea. The mechanization of harvesting operations is necessary to minimize the need for manual labor. This study to develop and evaluate the performance of a multi-purpose driving platform that can apply modular Radish and Chinese cabbage harvesting devices. The multi-purpose driving platform consisted of driving, device control, engine, hydraulic, harvesting, conveying, and loading part. Radish and Chinese cabbage harvesting conducted using the multi-purpose driving platform each harvesting module. The performance of the multi-purpose driving platform was evaluated the field efficiency and loss rate. The total Radish harvesting operation time 34.3 min., including 28.8 min., of harvesting time, 1.9 min., of turning time, and 3.6 min., of replacement time of bulk bag. During Radish harvesting, the field efficiency and average loss rate of the multi-purpose driving platform were 2.0 hr/10a and 3.1 %. Chinese cabbage harvesting operation 49.3 min., including 26.6 min., of harvesting time, 4.6 min., of turning time, and 18.1 min., of replacement time of bulk bag. During Chinese cabbage harvesting, the field efficiency and average loss rate of the multi-purpose driving platform 2.1 hr/10a and 0.1 %. Performance evaluation of the multi-purpose driving platform that harvesting work was possible by installing Radish and Chinese cabbage harvest modules. Performance analysis through harvest performance evaluation in various Radish and Chinese cabbage cultivation environments is necessary.

The Behavior Measurement of Simulated Ground by Digital Close-Range Photogrammetry (수치근접사진측량을 이용한 모형지반 거동량 측정)

  • Digital close-range photogrammetric technique can measure and describe 3D geometric farm from 2D image. This technique is increasingly applied in the field of sciences. In the fields of civil and mechanical engineering, which need precise measurements for design, expensive measuring equipments are widely used. In occasions where visual inspection is required in addition to other forms of measurements, appropriate measuring equipments have not been yet available. This study utilizes digital close-range photogrammetric technique to quantitatively analyze behavior patterns before and after destruction from test model of reinforced-soil wall. Then the results are compared with the measurements obtained using digital theodolite to verify the reliability of the proposed method.
