Automated Extraction of Orthorectified Building Layer from High-Resolution Satellite Images (고해상도 위성영상으로부터 건물 정위 레이어 자동추출)

  • As the availability of high-resolution satellite imagery increases, improvement of positioning accuracy of satellite images is required. The importance of orthorectified images is also increasing, which removes relief displacement and establishes true localization of man-made structures. In this paper, we performed automated extraction of building rooftops and total building areas within original satellite images using the existing building height database. We relocated the rooftop sin their true position and generated an orthorectified building layer. The extracted total building areas were used to blank out building areas and generate true orthographic non-building layer. A final orthorectified image was provided by overlapping the building layer and non-building layer.We tested the proposed method with KOMPSAT-3 and KOMPSAT-3A satellite images and verified the results by overlapping with a digital topographical map. Test results showed that orthorectified building layers were generated with a position error of 0.4m.Through the proposed method, the feasibility of automated true orthoimage generation within dense urban areas was confirmed.

  • 수치지도가 제 때 갱신되지 않으면 그 정확성과 신뢰도가 떨어지는 것은 당연하다. 본 연구에서는 이 문제를 고민해보고자, 아직 연구가 미흡한 실정인 수치지도 속성부분의 갱신에 있어 건축물대장의 적용가능성을 건물레이어를 중심으로 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 수치지도 건물레이어의 속성정보와 건축물대장의 항목들을 살펴보았다. 그 다음, 두 자료 간 연관성을 분석하고, 건축물대장을 이용한 갱신 가능 항목을 선정하였다. 최종적으로는 건축행정정보시스템의 건축물대장동별개요 테이블을 참조하여 갱신 관리 데이터베이스를 설계하였다. 본 연구는 수치지도와 건축물대장의 갱신가능 속성항목을 대응시키는 실제적인 방법론 대신 건축물대장의 적용가능성을 분석해 본 것으로, 허가받은 건물만이 존재한다는 건축물대장의 특성상 수치지도의 모든 건물도형을 갱신하지 못하는 한계점을 가진다.

  • 수치지도는 제작 과정뿐만 아니라 갱신 및 검수 작업도 정확성과 최신성을 유지하기 위해 매우 중요하다. 하지만 항공사진과 현지측량을 통한 기존의 갱신 방법은 짧은 주기로 변하는 현실 세계를 충분히 반영하지 못한다는 한계를 갖고 있어 수치지도의 최신성을 유지하기 위한 효율적인 새로운 갱신 방안이 요구된다. 이를 위해 인터넷건축행정시스템(e-AIS)의 건축도면과 건축물대장정보를 이용하면 신축, 개축, 증축 등이 수시로 일어나는 건물에 대해 수치지도의 갱신을 위한 신속하고 효과적인 대안이 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 건축도면에서 추출된 공간 정보와 건축물대장에서 취득된 속성 정보를 이용하여 수치지도의 건물 레이어를 갱신하는 방법을 제시하였다.

Developing and Valuating 3D Building Models Based on Multi Sensor Data (LiDAR, Digital Image and Digital Map) (멀티센서 데이터를 이용한 건물의 3차원 모델링 기법 개발 및 평가)

  • Modeling 3D buildings is an essential process to revive the real world into a computer. There are two ways to create a 3D building model. The first method is to use the building layer of 1:1000 digital maps based on high density point data gained from airborne laser surveying. The second method is to use LiDAR point data with digital images achieved with LiDAR. In this research we tested one sheet area of 1:1000 digital map with both methods to process a 3D building model. We have developed a process, analyzed quantitatively and evaluated the efficiency, accuracy, and reality. The resulted differed depending on the buildings shape. The first method was effective on simple buildings, and the second method was effective on complicated buildings. Also, we evaluated the accuracy of the produced model. Comparing the 3D building based on LiDAR data and digital image with digital maps, the horizontal accuracy was within ${\pm}50cm$. From the above we derived a conclusion that 3D building modeling is more effective when it is based on LiDAR data and digital maps. Using produced 3D building modeling data, we will be utilized as digital contents in various fields like 3D GIS, U-City, telematics, navigation, virtual reality and games etc.

  • As NGIS project has been implemented in 1995 and effectiveness of geospatial information increased, Digital maps serve several purpose in administrative, living, and the variety of industrial fields. But, Digital maps have difficulties in application of managing urban facilities due to many differences with real world information caused by high update cost and long generation period. This paper suggests an update method of building layers of digital map in urban area; first, we verify the filtered building information using digital areal imagery and LiDAR data which is high-accurate and also can be faster and more economical in 3D information acquisition, and finally update building layers by comparing with the existed digital map. Future research will concentrate on automatic removal of the small and the tree regions, discrimination of buildings and vegetation for generating and updating building layers using LiDAR data.

  • BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networks) 은 빌딩 자동화와 컨트롤 시스템 전용의 표준 데이터 커뮤니케이션 시스템이다. BACnet은 현재 데이터링크 레이어의 전송 미디어로 5개의 유선 프로토콜을 제공하고 있다. 최근 건물 통신망에 무선 기술에 대한 수요 및 필요성이 높아지고 있다. Zigbee 는 IEEE 802.15.4를 기반으로 한 저 전력 무선 통신의 표준 프로토콜로써 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크의 특징을 포함하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 BACnet의 데이터 링크 레이어의 확장된 무선 옵션으로 Zigbee를 포함하는 기술에 대해 연구하고 이를 기술한 실제 모델을 개발한다.

Methodology of Identifying Crime Vulnerable Road and Intersection Using Digital Map Version 2.0 (수치지도 2.0을 이용한 범죄 취약도로 및 교차점 식별기법)

  • As interest in social safety has recently increased at the national level, the various activities which can effectively prevent crimes are being carried out. Because the existing maps related to crimes provide the information about the present condition of crimes by administrative district for users, women and pedestrians who go by night could not actually grasp safe roads in advance. Therefore, this study developed the methodology that can easily extract dangerous areas due to crimes by the digital map 2.0. In the digital map 2.0, location and attribute information of center-lines of roads and building layers were used to find dangerous areas of crimes in these layers. Pavement materials and road width which are already built by the attribute information were used in the center-lines of roads. Crossing angles that roads and roads cross each other were additionally extracted and utilized. The attribute information about building types were input in the building layers of the digital map 2.0. The areas that are more the threshold values set by totaling up all the risk scores when considering pavement materials, road width, crossing angles of road, and building types in the center-lines of roads and road crossings were extracted as the dangerous areas that crimes can occur. Verification of the developed methodology was done by experiment. In the spatial apsect, the dangerous areas of crimes could be found by using the digital 2.0, roads, and building layers only through the experiment. In the administrative aspect to prevent crimes, additional installation of safety facilities such as street lights and security lights in the identified areas which are vulnerable for crimes is thought to be increasing safety of dangerous areas.

  • Rapid advances in technology and changes in human and cultural activities bring about changes to the earth surface in terms of spatial extension as well as time frame of the changes. Such advances introduce shorter updating frequency of maps and geospatial database. To satisfy these requirements, recent research efforts in the geoinformatics field have been focused on the automation and speeding up of the mapping processes which resulted in products such as the digital photogrammetric workstation, GPSIINS, applications of satellite imagery, automatic feature extraction and the LiDAR system. The possibility of automatically extracting buildings and generating contours from airborne LiDAR data has received much attention because LiDAR data produce promising results. However, compared with the manually derived building footprints using traditional photogrammetric process, more investigation and analysis need to be carried out in terms of accuracy and efficiency. On the other hand, generation of the contours with LiDAR data is more efficient and economical in terms of the quality and accuracy. In this study, the effects of various conditions of the pre-processing phase and the subsequent building extraction and contour generation phases for digital mapping have on the accuracy were investigated.

An Efficient Update for Attribute Data of the Digital Map using Building Registers : Focused on Building Numbers of the New Address (건축물대장을 이용한 수치지도 속성정보의 효율적 갱신방안 : 새주소사업의 건물번호 이용을 중심으로)

  • The digital map needs efficiently updating. Because it is a base map at each local government and several geographic information systems and that is the key to enhancing to use spatial data. We suggest the linking method of building registers to the building layers of digital map, to update attribute data of the building layers. To conduct that, it is very important that each building in two data is linked by one-to-one matching. In this paper, we generate the strategy for renewing attribute data of the building layers based on identifier by using identifier of the new address system.

Comparative evaluation of deep learning-based building extraction techniques using aerial images (항공영상을 이용한 딥러닝 기반 건물객체 추출 기법들의 비교평가)

  • Recently, as the spatial resolution of satellite and aerial images has improved, various studies using remotely sensed data with high spatial resolution have been conducted. In particular, since the building extraction is essential for creating digital thematic maps, high accuracy of building extraction result is required. In this manuscript, building extraction models were generated using SegNet, U-Net, FC-DenseNet, and HRNetV2, which are representative semantic segmentation models in deep learning techniques, and then the evaluation of building extraction results was performed. Training dataset for building extraction were generated by using aerial orthophotos including various buildings, and evaluation was conducted in three areas. First, the model performance was evaluated through the region adjacent to the training dataset. In addition, the applicability of the model was evaluated through the region different from the training dataset. As a result, the f1-score of HRNetV2 represented the best values in terms of model performance and applicability. Through this study, the possibility of creating and modifying the building layer in the digital map was confirmed.
