  • The blast demolition technology has been used to demolish various industrial facilities and tall buildings since 1950s in the advanced countries such as USA and U.K. It is now considered as one of safe demolition methods in the above countries. In Korea, several companies have tried to introduce blast demolition technology in the early days of the 1990s. However, this technology is still at the beginning stage and not fully adopted due to situation of avoiding technology transfer by overseas technical tie-up companies, lack of objects to be demolished and low level recognition on blast demolition. This technology shall be considered as a cutting edge technology to be applicable to demolition of skyscrapers, various industrial structures and factory buildings in the near future. Blast demolition of a pier structure was carried out under the site condition where there were already the constructed 2 pier structures of up and down line which had safety problems in an expressway construction project. The pier structures need to be demolished and reconstructed for a short period of time in consideration of the construction work process to be followed.

  • 본 기사는 2000년 3월 26일 미국 시애틀 소재 Kingdome 체육관 시설을 발파해체공법을 이용하여 해체한 사례로서 The Journal of Explosives Engineering(v.17 n.5, 2000)에 기고한 Dr. Douglas A. Anderson (Senior Consultant, West Chester, PA office of Schnabel Engineering Associates, Inc.)의 글을 옮긴 것이다. Kingdome 구조물의 해체와 해제 후 Seahawk Stadium 건설의 책임을 맡은 주계약자는 Turner Construction 회사이며 발파해체 사전준비 및 사후처리의 택일은 Aman Environment사, 발파해체 설계 및 시공은 CDI사, 주위 주요 구조물에 대한 영향평가 및 진동계측은 Schnabel Engineering Associates사가 맡아 수행하였다. 이 건물은 세계에서 가장 큰 규모의 쉘 콘크리트 돔 구조로 되어 있으며, 주위에 주요 구조물들이 위치하고 있고 특히 이 지역에 과거 발생했던 지진으로 인하여 주민들이 지반진동에 대한 피해나 또는 지진을 유발하수도 있다는 위험 가능성에 매우 예민하여 관심이 높았던 해체사례이다. 이 구조물을 한번에 붕괴시킬 경우 지반에 25,000톤의 중량이 충격으로 작용할 수 있으므로 충격을 최소화하기 위한 방법에 초점을 맞추어 설계되었으며 5,905개의 천공에 4,728파운드(약 2,145kg)의 폭약이 사용되었고 도폭선을 이용하여 기폭시켰다. 사용된 도폭선의 길이는 약 37.9 Km에 달하였다. 발파해체 기사에 나타나 있듯이 주위에 피해를 주지 않고 성공적으로 수행되었다.

Suggestion of New Method for the Prediction of Shock Vibration (충격진동 예측방법에 관한 새로운 방법 제안)

  • In case of estimating the shocking vibration during the blasting demolitions, the weight and falling height of the structure, that is a potential energy, had been considered. But, this study presented a new equation which used the impulse concerning a falling weight instead of potential energy as a method of predicting the shock vibration. In this experiment, the data of the impulse were compared with the data of the potential energy by performing the free-fall, and all data were comparatively analyzed by the regression analysis method. Also, the method of the superposition theory, which is calculated by the diminution ratio according to distance, the free-fall difference according to height, and the time giving the shock to the ground according to the breakdown pattern, was compared with the previous vibration data occurring from the blasting demolitions in the same conditions. As a result, this study suggests that the impulse and the method of superposition theory be applied as a method of predicting the shocking vibration. Therefore, these results could be expected to estimate the shocking vibration more accurately than the previous method.

  • The object of this paper is to evaluate on constructability of modular steel frame with the hollow structural steel section to LEB C-shape. A modular building is built with factory-manufacture and site-construction. The advantage of a Modular building presents that enhanced building quality, shortened construction period and easy at an expansion and enlargement for buildings but also has demerits such as size restriction of the modular units according to the Road Traffic Law and Inflexibility of the unit composition. So in this study we use light-weighted structure members with bolted joint for easy Knock-down and traffic, also we evaluated the constructability of this bolted joints type modular buildings.

  • 김해 국제공항 2단계 확장 공사 중 구 국제선 청사 발파해체공사"는 5.5초의 기폭시차를 두고 약 7초간에 구조물의 붕괴를 유도하여, 단기간에 안전하며 최대의 효율을 낼 수 있는 발파해체공법을 적용하여 시공하였다. 이에 따라 발파해체공사의 공법, 공정, 세부 현황 및 결과, 발파공해영향권에 대해 분석, 평가 하였다. 구 국제선청사 구조물은 3층 높이로 저층 구조물에 해당하고 구조물의 특성상 Span 간격이 길고 충고가 높다. 또한 지반이 액상한계점 상태까지 도달하여 구조안전진단 결과 위험등급인 D등급으로 판정되었다. 본 대상건물과 같이 충고는 낮지만, 구조 안전성 측면에서 위험 요소를 가지고 있으므로 발파공법을 적용하여 해체를 실시하였다.
