The purpose of this study is to examine the mental health of and the mediation effect of resilience on the mental health of the victims of school violence. The subjects are 509 junior high school students in 8th grade from J city who experienced school violence. The data collected were analyzed through frequency, percentage, correlation and mediated regression analyses and the Sobel test. The results confirmed that the male students had experienced school violence to a greater extent than the female ones, but the latter's mental health was worse than that of the former. The result of the mediated regression analysis showed the fully mediated effect of resilience on the mental health of both male and female victims of school violence. According to these findings, intervention strategies that focus on increasing the resilience of school violence victims are suggested.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the mediation effect of bullying on the associations between children's overweight and obesity problem and mental health problems. Data from a subsample of 2,306 adolescents, who participated in the "child-youth synthesize survey" was utilized. The measurement and structural models were estimated using structural equation modeling. Partial and full mediation models were compared, and X2 difference test was conducted between the two models. The study results show that children's overweight and obesity problem have a direct effect on mental health problems. In addition, bullying was found to mediate the association between children's overweight and obesity problem and mental health problems. The analytic results confirmed that the model fit for the full mediation model was better than the partial mediation model when examining the mediating effect of bullying on the relations between children's overweight and obesity problem and mental health problems. Efforts to prevent mental health problems may require interventions for children's with overweight and obesity problems as well as inventions for reducing bullying in general.

This study examines the mediating effects of social support on the relationship between health status and depression of the elderly in Korea. Through stratified multi-state random sampling, 1409 individuals aged 65 and over who lived in Seoul and Chunchen, and who had their own children were selected. Social support was composed of three types: emotional support, instrumental and financial support, and included both support-received from and provided to children. The multiple regression model proposed by Kenny and Baron was used. As the results, first, the elderly get more depressed when having lower health status and lower social support. Second, there is a partial mediating effect of social support in association with health status and depression. Comparing by gender, instrumental support received from children, and emotional and instrumental support provided to children are mediators in the link between health status and depression in the case of male. In the case of female, emotional, instrumental and financial support received from children, and instrumental and financial support provided to children shows the mediating effects between health status and depression. The results suggest that social support both received from and provided to children reduces the negative impacts of health status on depression of the elderly in Korea.

This study was to examine whether an elderly can health-related quality of life(EQ-5D) by the mediating effect of dental health determinants on the association between health practice behavior and EQ-5D. The analysis was conducted on 1,311 of above the age of 65 in elderly by using raw data from the 2015 National Health and Nutrition Survey. The data were analyzed using SPSS for windows version 24.0 and SPSS PROCESS-macro. The health practice behavior and EQ-5D by living arrangement were the highest in the one-generation family(4.62, 0.90) and the lowest the elderly living alone(4.40, 0.86). Also, analysis using the PROCESS macro indicated that the FS-T index has a mediating effect between health practice behavior and EQ-5D(${\beta}=.0011$, BCCI [.003~.0024]). These findings suggest that FS-T index is closely related to EQ-5D and this will be used as basic data for development of health promotion programs for elderly.

평생건강관리의 필요성이 강조되고 있는 요즘, 개인의 건강관리에서 한걸음 더 나아가서 가족단위 건강관리의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 그 이유는, 가족의 유전적 소인, 생활 환경 요인 등이 질병의 발생과 밀접한 관련이 있기 때문인 것으로 생각된다. 한국건강관리협회 대전ㆍ충청남도지부는 이러한 추세에 따라, 가족단위 건강관리 등록제를 도입ㆍ실시하고 있다. 지부 부속의원 내원자 중 종합검사를 받은 부부를 중심으로 실시하고 있는 본 제도는, 앞으로 질병의 조기발견과 평생건강관리에 좋은 효과를 거둘 것으로 기대되어, 이번 호에 소개해 본다.
