Pedestrian Dead Reckoning based Position Estimation Scheme considering Pedestrian's Various Movement Type under Combat Environments (전장환경 하에서 보행자의 다양한 이동유형을 고려한 관성항법 기반의 위치인식 기법)

  • In general, Personal Navigation Systems (PNSs) can be defined systems to acquire pedestrian positional information. GPS is an example of PNS. However, GPS can only be used where the GPS signal can be received. Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR) can estimate the positional information of pedestrians using Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). Therefore, PDR can be used for GPS-disabled areas. This paper proposes a PDR scheme considering various movement types over GPS-disabled areas as combat environments. We propose a movement distance estimation scheme and movement direction estimation scheme as pedestrian's various movement types such as walking, running and crawling using IMU. Also, we propose a fusion algorithm between GPS and PDR to mitigate the lack of accuracy of positional information at the entrance to the building. The proposed algorithm has been tested in a real test bed. In the experimental results, the proposed algorithms exhibited an average position error distance of 5.64m and position error rate in goal point of 3.41% as a pedestrian traveled 0.6km.

대형 할인점 매출 데이터를 이용한 Semi-Variogram의 추정과 거리에 의한 할인점 이용권 지도 작성에 관한 연구

  • 대형 할인점 매출 데이터는 G-CRM, 에어기어 마케팅(Area Marketing)에 활용하기 위해 고객의 구매정보와 위치정보를 포함한다. TM중부좌표로 이루어진 고객 위치정보를 이용하여 지점간의 거리를 구할 수 있다. 서로 다른 위치에서 통시에 측정된 자료들이 공간적인 변인에 의하여 영향을 받는다면, 공간적인 변인의 함수식에 의한 예측모형을 설정하는 것이 타당하다. 본 연구에서는 공간적인 변인으로 거리가 주어졌을 때, 대형 할인점 매출 자료에 대한 세미베리오그램(Semi-Variogram)의 모형을 추정하고, 관측되지 않은 지역에 대한 할인점 이용권을 공간예측기법으로 예측하였다. 그리고 공간예측 기법을 통해 예측된 할인점 이용권을 토대로 할인점 이용권 지도를 작성하였다. 또한 매출 데이터의 공간이상치 탐지를 위한 방법을 제시하고 실례로 알아보았다.

An Optimization Approach for Localization of an Indoor Mobile Robot (최적화 기법을 사용한 실내 이동 로봇의 위치 인식)

  • This paper proposes a method that utilizes optimization approach for localization of an indoor mobile robot. Bayesian filters which have been widely used for localization of a mobile robot use many control parameters to take the uncertainties in measurement and environment into account. The estimation performance depends on the selection of these parameter values. Also, the performance of the Bayesian filters deteriorate as the non-linearity of the motion and measurement increases. On the other hand, the optimization approach uses fewer control parameters and is less influenced by the non-linearity than the Bayesian methods. This paper compares the localization performance of the proposed method with the performance of the extended Kalman filter to verify the feasibility of the proposed method. Measurements of ranges from beacons of ultrasonic satellite to the robot are used for localization. Mahalanobis distance is used for detection and rejection of outlier in the measurements. The optimization method sets performance index as a function of the measured range values, and finds the optimized estimation of the location through iteration. The method can improve the localization performance and reduce the computation time in corporation with Bayesian filter which provides proper initial location for the iteration.

A Study on SNR Estimation of Continuous Speech Signal (연속음성신호의 SNR 추정기법에 관한 연구)

  • In speech signal processing, speech signal corrupted by noise should be enhanced to improve quality. Usually noise estimation methods need flexibility for variable environment. Noise profile is renewed on silence region to avoid effects of speech properties. So we have to preprocess finding voice region before noise estimation. However, if received signal does not have silence region, we cannot apply that method. In this paper, we proposed SNR estimation method for continuous speech signal. The waveform which is stationary region of voiced speech is very correlated by pitch period. So we can estimate the SNR by correlation of near waveform after dividing a frame for each pitch. For unvoiced speech signal, vocal track characteristic is reflected by noise, so we can estimate SNR by using spectral distance between spectrum of received signal and estimated vocal track. Lastly, energy of speech signal is mostly distributed on voiced region, so we can estimate SNR by the ratio of voiced region energy to unvoiced.

  • 수자원에 대한 효율적 활용 요구가 증대됨에 따라 한반도 수리적 특성을 보다 정밀하게 모의하고 이를 활용한 의사결정이 요구되고 있다. 한반도는 지리적 특성상 약 70%가 산학 구조로 되어 있어서 지형적 기상 현상이 복잡하여 가뭄지수의 공간 보간에 어려움이 있다. 따라서 지형적 특성-거리, 고도, 해양에서의 거리, 지향면 등을 고려할 수 있는 PRISM 기법을 기존의 공간 보간 기법과 비교 분석하여 한반도 전역의 가뭄 특성에 적합한 공간 보간 기법을 검출하고자 하였다. 자료의 분석은 기상청에서 제공하는 강우 관측소중 40년 이상의 연한을 가지고 있는 60개 지점을 선정하여 분석하였으며 방법 간의 비교는 지점을 선정하여 추정된 오차를 기초로 하여 판단하였다. 분석결과 PRISM 기법이 복잡한 지형적 특성을 가진 지역에서 더 적합한 방법으로 나타났다. 향후 연구에서는 미개측 지역의 가뭄지수 분석을 시행하여 관측소가 설치되지 않은 지역의 적합한 가뭄 특성을 분석하여 효율적인 수자원 활용을 위한 적절한 의사결정 지표를 선정하고자한다.

  • In cognitive radio networks, acquirement of position information of primary user is very important to secondary network since localization information of primary users can be utilized for improving the spectrum efficiency of secondary network and for avoiding harmful interference to primary users by using proper power control. Among various location methods, Received Signal Strength (RSS)-based localization has been widely used for distance measurements in the location detection process despite its inherent inaccuracy because it can be easily implemented without any additional hardware cost. In the RSS-based localization, the distance is measured by the received signal strength, and distance error can be caused by many factors such as fading, shadowing and obstacle between two nodes. In the paper, therefore we propose a localization scheme based on estimation of path-loss exponent to localize the location of primary users more accurately. Through simulations, it is shown that the proposed scheme can provide less localization error and interference rate to primary users than other schemes.

  • This paper reviewed application of data-driven method, distance-weighted method(IDWM, IEWM, CCWM, ANN), and radar data method estimated of missing raifall data. To evaluate these methods, statistics was compared using radar and station rainfall data from Imjin-river basin. The range of RMSE values calculated for CCWM, ANN was 1.4 to 1.79mm, and the range of RMSE values estimated data used for radar rainfall data was 0.05 to 2.26mm. Spatial characteristics is considered to Radar rainfall data rather than station rainfall data. Result suggest that estimated data used for radar data can impove estimation of missing raifall data.

  • In this paper, we address the target positioning performance of Multi-Static sonar with respect to target positioning method and measurement error. Based on the analysis on two candidate solution approaches, namely, Least Square (LS) using range and angular information simultaneously and Maximum Likelihood (ML) using only range information as the existing information fusion methods for possible application to Multi-Static sonar, we propose to employ ML using range and angular information. Assuming that each sensor can receive range and angular information, we conduct representative comparison experiments over the existing and proposed methods under various measurement noise scenarios. We also investigate the target positioning performance according to number of sensors, distance between transmitter and receiver. According to the experimental results, RMSE of the proposed ML with distance and direction information is found to be more superior to ML using distance alone and to LS in case distance between transmitter and receiver is longer and number of receiver is smaller.

  • In this paper, a new distance relaying scheme is proposed. Artificial neural networks are applied to the distance relaying system composed of pattern recognition based. The proposed distance relaying scheme has two blocks of pattern recognition stages to estimate the fundamental frequency and to classify the fault types. In the first block, a filtering method using neural networks called a neural networks mapping filter(NMF) is presented to efficiently extract the features. And in the sec'ond block, the estimator called neural networks fault pattern estimator(NFPE) is also presented to classify the fault types by the extracted effective features obtained from NMF. Each block of these applied schemes is trained by back-propagation algorithm of multilayer perceptron and show the fast and accurate pattern recognition by ability of multilayer neural networks. The test result of this approach are obtained the good performance from the fault transient wave signals of EMTP(e1ectromagnetic transients program) in the various fault conditions of power systems.

Design and Implementation of Testbed for Cooperative Localization using Area Reduction Method (영역 축소 기법을 이용한 협력 위치추정 테스트베드 설계 및 구현)

  • In this study, we designed and implemented testbed for localization algorithm by using a area reduction method in outdoor environment. The proposed algorithm used 3 steps of area reduction method, which estimated blind nodes position. Also, we have experimented with using a Zigbee module for 5 fixed reference nodes and 4 blind nodes in sensor field of $60m{\times}23m$. The results show that our algorithm is improved the localization accuracy even at the number of ref. node is fixed and the number of blind node is increased. In future research, we will be adding the function of seamless localization in indoor and NLOS(non-line of sight) environment.
