사슴사료에서의 알팔파 효과

  • 우리나라의 사슴에 공급되는 조사료는 대부분 중국산 갈잎건초, 옥수수 사일리지 및 일부 자가 생산된 조사료이다. 우리나라에서 녹용생산을 위해 사육되고 있는 사슴은 6개의 사슴아과중 진사슴아과(Cervinae)에 속하는 꽃사슴, 붉은사슴, 엘크, 다마 사슴들로 이들은 거친사료에 가장 잘 적응되어 있는 종류들이다. 특히 사슴은 타 동물과는 달리 난틴성분을 분해할 수 있는 능력이 있으므로 갈잎이나 어린새싹등을 소화하는데 잘 길들여져 있다. 그러나 우리나라에서 수입하고 있는 갈잎은 품질이 균일하지 못한 경우가 있고 사슴의 사육기간에 따라 고단백사료를 필요로 하므로 대체 사료의 개발이라는 측면에서 가격만 적당하다면 다양한 무기물과 미지성장인자가 많이 함유된 것으로 알려진 알팔파도 좋은 사료자원이 될 수 있을 것이다. 그러나 이러한 알팔파를 사슴사료로 이용하기 위해서는 섬유소와 에너지 단백질의 적정요구량을 결정하고 여러가지 가공알팔파를 적절히 이용하는 방법을 찾아내는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 여기에서는 1992년부터 1993년까지 카나다의 알버타 대학에서 실시한 사슴사료로써 알팔파의 효과와 각종 가공 알팔파의 올바른 이용방법에 대해 연구한 것을 발표하고자 한다.

  • Differences of feeding response of 280 silkworm genetic stocks and 71 breeding lines to MP-O artificial diet and the mode of the inheritance were investigated. Feeding response to MP-O diet varied markedly between the silkworm varieties, and the non-normally distributed curve for the response was observed. From the genetic analysis, the high feeding response to MP-O diet was recessive to the low feeding response. Therefore it is considered that the high feeding response of the newly hatched silkwrom larvae to MP-O diet is controlled by a recessive gene.

  • 본회를 비롯한 11개 축산단체로 구성된 한국축산관련단체협의회(회장 : 전동용)와 민정당 중앙위농림축산분과위원회(위원장 : 전동용)은 지난 4월 20일 "사료 및 축산기자재에 대한 부가세 영세율 적용 건의서"를 작성, 대통령, 민정당 대표위원(중앙위의장, 정책위의장), 국회 농림수산위원장, 재무위원장, 경제기획원장관, 재무부장관에게 제출했다. 이들은 건의서에서 "쇠고기 수입재개원 243개 농축수산물의 수입개방 예시 발표로 국내 축산업이 살아남기 어렵게 되었다고 밝히고, 이에 대한 보완대책의 일환으로 국내 축산업의 생존과 더 나아가 국제경쟁력 제고를 위해서 120만 양축농님의 숙원사항인 사료, 동물약품, 축산기계 등 축산기자재에 대한 부가가치세를 영세율을 적용해 줄 것을 건의했다. 다음은 건의서 전문이다.

The Optimal TDN Levels of Concentrates and Slaughter Age in Hanwoo Steers (거세한우에 있어서 배합사료의 적정 TDN 수준과 도축 월령)

  • Ninety Hanwoo steers(initial BW=167.2$\pm$13.4kg) were used to determine the effect of energy concentrations in concentrates and slaughter age on performance, carcass characteristics. Steers were allotted by BW to one of eighteen pens. Eighteen pens were randomly allotted to a low(70-70-71-72% for the growing, the early, the middle or the late fattening periods), medium(70-71-72-73%) or high(70-72- 73-74%) TDN level of concentrates. Five steers for each treatment of energy level were slaughtered every one month from 26 month of age to 31 month of age. Concentrates was fed restrictedly to achieve a predicted gain of 0.7-0.9kg from growing stage to middle fattening stage. All steers were fed orchard grass(Dactylis glomerata L.) hay as roughage during the growing period, fed rice straw gradually substituted for orchard grass hay during the early fattening period, and fed rice straw only thereafter. Overall body weight and feed intake were not affected by TDN levels of concentrates. Average daily gain for all treatments was higher than 0.9kg/d during the 19-21 month of age and decrease thereafter, but sustained above 0.7kg/d. Mean concentrates intake for all treatments was 1.0-1.3% of live BW during the growing period and 1.5% during the early fattening. Thereafter, it decreased up to 1.4% during the middle fattening and 1.0% during late fattening period. Delay of slaughter end point resulted in a gradual increase of rib-eye area, back fat thickness and marbling score, especially after slaughter age of 29 month there was significant increases(P<0.05). The appearance rate of 1+ and 1 grade related to the slaughter ages was 100% at 29, 30 and 31 months of age, whereas those at 26, 27 and 28 months were 93, 86 and 80%, respectively. Dressing rate was significantly(P<0.05) increased and rate of retailed cut weight significantly(P<0.05) decreased when slaughter age increased. In economic analysis, there was pronounced increase in net income up to 32-46% after slaughter age of 29 months. Under the conditions of this study, high TDN intake is not necessarily required for high quality Hanwoo meat production and slaughter age of 29 month might be the optimum for Hanwoo steers.

  • In order to examine the wholesomeness of gamma-irradiated polished rice, 400 albino rats were fed on four different diets consisting of rice irradiated at 50Krad(LLTG) and 100 Krad dosages(HLTG), non-irradiated rice(PCG) and wheat(NCG) for 7 month period. No significant difference was observed among the four diets with respect to feed intake, gain of body weight, feed efficiency and growth rate of the experimental animal.

  • Spermatozoa of Aphyocypris chinensis was studied by transmission electron microscopy. The investiation revaled that, spermatozoa display a round head, a small midpiece and a long tail region. In the spermatozoa, the nucleus contains highly condensed homogeneous chromation with small electron lucent areas. The base of the nucleus is slightly invaginated laterally by the nuclear fossa which contains the proximal centriole. The two centrioles orientated at an obtus angle (130°) to each other. The midpiece encircles the flagellum and is completely separated from it by the cytoplasmic channel. The midpiece contains more than 12 mitochondria. The mitochondria are arranged in 4~5 layer and are asymmetrically distributed in the postnuclear cytoplasm. The mitochondria surround the proximal part of the flagellum. The flagellum has classical 9+2 axoneme and no lateral fins. The spermatozoa of A. chinensis are similar to those of other cyprinids having a spherical head with a shallow nuclear fossa, a short midpiece including the asymmetrical arrangement of mitochondria and the lateral insertion of flagellum. However, there are some differences in the orientation of centrioles and the number of the mitochondria.

Effects of Ruminally Inserted Artificial Fiber on Growth Performance, Feed Intake and Carcass Characteristics of Hanwoo Steers (반추위내 인공섬유질 투여가 거세한우의 발육, 사료섭취량 및 도체특성에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of ruminally inserted artificial fiber (RIAF; polymerized fibrous implements) on growth performance, feed intake and carcass characteristics of Hanwoo steers. Thirty six steers averaging $368.3\pm20.3kg$ were randomly assigned into three groups: control group, the ruminal insertion of three pieces (T1), and five pieces (T2) of RIAF. Average daily gain, feed intakes and conversions among treatments were similar. Numbers of rumen villi were higher in RIAF treatment (T1 and T2) groups than control group, but they were not significant (p>0.05). The length of villi were significantly longer in T2 than control group (p<0.05). Fecal weight tended to decrease in T1 compared with the control group (p>0.05). There was no differences on carcass traits inc1uding longissmus muscle area, back fat thickness, marbling score, meat color, and fat color among treatments.

Agronomic Characteristics, Forage Quality, and Dry Matter Yield of Forage Winter Rye Cultivars (사료용 호밀 보급품종의 주요 생육특성과 수량성)

  • This experiment was carried out to classify heading date of forage rye cultivars, and study agronomic characteristics, dry matter yield per ha and forage quality of winter rye cultivars in Suwon for 2 year from 2002 to 2003. The earliest cultivars among forage winter rye cultivars were Olhomil and Vitagrazer, which the heading date was April 21. The latest cultivar was Danko, which was May 5. Koolgrazer was April 26 and Homil 22 was April 30, respectively. Therefore, we classified the cultivars into three groups according to their heading date. The earliest group includes Olhomil, Vitagrazer, Paldanghomil, the middle group includes 5 cultivars which are Koolgrazer, Barrgazer, Maton, Wintergrazer and Homil22, and the latest group contains Humbolt and Danko. The number of tiller per $m^{2}$ of most cultivars were more than 1,000. The cultivar which has lowest tiller was Humbolt, which dry matter yield was the largest, and its tiller was 789. The lodging happened after each precipitation. Danko was the cultivar that has lowest lodging frequency. There has been little disease and insect and the difference in the quality of each cultivar. The yield of dry matters per ha of Humbolt was increased $123\%$, Vita grazer $121\%$, Maton $113\%$ comparing the standard cultivar, Kool grazer of 12,409kg, and Homil 22 was almost the same with the standard cultivar.
