  • Recently, major advanced countries are fostering megacities through policy for reasons such as solving population problems, political and economic issues, and strengthening national competitiveness. The trend of change is accelerating. In Korea, following Seoul and Gyeonggi, mega city policies are being promoted in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Daegu and Gyeongbuk, Gwangju and Jeonnam, and Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong and North Chungcheong areas. Due to this urbanization phenomenon, military experts predict that the future battlefield environment will be space or a large city (mega city). From this perspective, Korea will not be able to effectively respond to the threats facing megacities if it does not prepare in advance. Therefore, underground facility operation capabilities optimized for the huge scale of the mega city and the characteristics of the underground operational environment are required. Against this background, the characteristics of the underground operational environment of mega cities and cases of preparation for underground facility operations in advanced military countries such as the United States and Israel were analyzed. Based on this, the capabilities required for underground facility operations suitable for the underground operational environment within Korean megacities are developed from an idea perspective to military organization and combat system, securing special equipment and materials to ensure combatant survival, developing small unit combat techniques, and establishing a training system. It was presented with priority given to.

  • In the rapidly expanding live-commerce market, one of the newer channels in e-commerce, consumer satisfaction appears to have plateaued. This study, therefore, aims to explore the impact of consumers' internal psychological states on the formation of service attitudes and offers practical solutions based on these findings. Whereas previous studies predominantly focused on external factors, this research examines the role of internal psychological states and perceived value in shaping consumer attitudes. Specifically, this study distinguishes between personal loneliness and social isolation, adding an altruistic dimension by incorporating interpersonal orientation, thereby setting it apart from earlier research. The focus of this study is on the psychological conditions of live-commerce consumers, investigating how factors such as loneliness, social isolation, and interpersonal orientation influence service attitudes, moderated by perceived economic value. The analysis reveals that both social isolation and interpersonal orientation significantly affect service attitudes, with social isolation exerting a stronger influence. However, no statistically significant relationship was found between loneliness and service attitude. Additionally, the effects of social isolation and interpersonal orientation on service attitudes were moderated by perceived economic value, which amplified their influence. These findings underscore the importance of incorporating consumer-centric psychological factors when developing strategies. A tailored approach that aligns with the unique characteristics of the live-commerce channel can help businesses provide customized services. This strategic approach is expected to support the development of effective operational strategies and practical solutions not only for live-commerce but also for future two-way communication channels that businesses and small enterprises may leverage.

  • In chronic stroke patients, respiratory muscle weakness leads to decreased pulmonary function and balance ability. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the effects of respiratory training using a device and training methods that apply resistance to respiratory muscles on pulmonary function, thoracic cage expansion, and balance. A total of 20 participants were included in the study, divided into two groups: Respiratory Training Group 1 (n:10) using a resistive inspiratory device and Respiratory Training Group 2 (n:10) undergoing chest expansion resistance training. Lung function, the Korean Version of the Trunk Impairment Scale (K-TIS), Chest Expansion Measurement (CEM), and the Functional Reach Test (FRT) were assessed before and after the respiratory training. The training was conducted five times a week for a total of six weeks. Both Respiratory Training Group 1 and Group 2 showed significant improvements in lung function, K-TIS, CEM, and FRT scores, with no significant differences between the groups. The results of this study showed that breathing training using a device and breathing training that applied resistance to respiratory muscles were effective for pulmonary function, thoracic cage expansion, and balance, and that breathing training that applied direct resistance to respiratory muscles had a positive effect on strengthening respiratory muscles and improving balance ability, and that it was judged important to perform it in conjunction with general rehabilitation treatment for chronic stroke patients for functional recovery.

  • The rapid development of China's wind energy sector was facilitated by a number of transnational actors including organisations for international cooperation and international environmental organisations. This paper explores their evolving roles at different development stages in order to extend our understanding of the socio-political conditions for energy transition. Employing the framework of norm diffusion theories, this study focuses on the transnational advocacy group supporting wind energy for environmental purposes and analyses their norm promotion activities in interaction with domestic proponent as well as opponent groups. This analysis shows that the transnational actors successfully laid the foundation for the commercial wind energy development throughout the 1990s but experienced marginalisation during the sector expansion due to the dominance of the central government and its protectionist industrial policy. As the domestic opponent groups caused high-level wind curtailment in the 2010s, the international advocacy group has increasingly conducted offensive norm promotion activities. This case of the Chinese wind energy development suggests that the international transfer of technology and policy measures in combination with the mobilisation of economic resources support the growth of the wind energy sector, which nonetheless suffers lacking influence of environmental norms and faces conflicts with the traditional players of the electricity sector. Based on these findings, this study concludes that the key socio-political condition for energy transition is the formation of a power configuration which facilitates the effectiveness of environmental norms and thus confronts the powerful opponents of wind energy.

  • This study started by recognizing that a competency-based major curriculum in physics education was necessary to respond to field demands in the intelligent information age. To address this need, the research developed a competency-based major curriculum model for the Department of Physics Education at G University. The research process involved several stages: environmental analysis focusing on the characteristics of the intelligent information age, needs analysis of the educational field, establishment of ideal human resources and academic goals, selection of major competencies, curriculum system composition, and roadmap development. The major curriculum committee reviewed and evaluated each stage of this process. The study established an ideal image of 'innovative and communicative educators leading future education' along with three educational objectives. It also identified academic-research competency, field-job competency, and convergence-integration competency as major competencies, defining sub-competencies for each. The research team restructured the curriculum to achieve a balanced development of major competencies and introduced a new science edutainer micro-degree program to address career diversification. The project implemented complementary extracurricular programs to supplement insufficient major competencies and established systems for managing individual students' major competencies and the overall major curriculum. The competency-based major curriculum model developed through this study aims to strengthen the practical competencies of physics education students and provide an effective approach to respond to future changes in the educational environment.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop test scenarios utilizing V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communication technology for the prevention of pedestrian accidents and to validate these scenarios through simulation. To this end, this researcher used existing traffic accident databases to categorize vehicle-to-pedestrian accident data, and drew key accident patterns through the analysis of accident types and the speeds of pedestrians and vehicles. Based on the analyzed data, scenarios were established where V2X technology can be applied under various conditions of pedestrians and vehicles. These scenarios were specifically classified into conditions where physical avoidance of an accident is impossible and conditions where accident avoidance is possible through V2X technology. In the developed test matrix, simulations were conducted in diverse scenarios to evaluate the performance of the V2X-based accident prevention system. The research results confirmed that the application of V2X technology is effective for preventing pedestrian accidents. It is expected that these scenarios can serve as standardized guidelines for future traffic safety improvements. This study provides useful data for policymakers for traffic safety, vehicle manufacturers, and technology developers, and proposes a new approach to enhance pedestrian safety.

  • Advertising on the exterior of buses was initiated in 1985 with the aim of generating operational funds for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. However, despite numerous technological advancements, the regulations governing the method (sheet attachment), area, and placement of exterior advertising on buses have remained unchanged to date. This has constrained the potential for profitability and efficiency in bus exterior advertising. According to Seoul Metropolitan Government, metro usage increased by 23 % in 2019 (prior to the COVID-19) compared to 2006, while bus usage decreased by 10 %. Consequently, financial subsidy for buses surged significantly over the past five years (2018-2022), averaging around KRW 450 billion, which is approximately 1.27 times the average for the preceding decade (2013-2022). The majority of revenue for bus transportation agencies is derived from passenger fares (81.1 %) and subsidies from Seoul City (17.5 %). Hence, it is imperative to enhance the share of revenue from sources other than fares. This study proposes an expansion of the role of bus exterior advertising by increasing the advertising area as a means to increase non-fare revenue. Two alternatives were proposed to expand the advertising area by 17 % and 94 %, respectively, compared to the current level, and their potential impacts were analyzed. The findings indicate that advertising revenue could increase from a minimum of KRW 3.2 billion to a maximum of KRW 53.9 billion, and public subsidies could be reduced by as much as 11.9 %. The bus exterior advertising can serve as an effective approach to diversify transportation revenue and decrease public subsidies.
