초고층 강제어초를 대상으로 3차원 형상표현, 도면 자동 추출, 자재물량정보 산출, 구조해석 입력정보 산출 등이 가능한 모델링 프로그램이 연구(I)에서 개발된 이래 강제어초에 미치는 유체 항력을 구하기 위해 해양공학광폭수조에서 모형시험을 수행하였으며, 구조적인 문제를 점검하기 위해서 구조해석을 수행하였다. 또한 새로운 형태의 초고층 강제어초를 설계할 수 있는 통합시스템을 구축하였다.

초고층강제어초(VEry High-rise Steel Artificial Reef, VEHSAR)의 형상 표현과 해석을 위해서 3차원 모델링 프로그램을 Windows 95(또는 Windows NT) 환경하에서 MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class)를 기반으로 한 Visual C++로 개발하였다. 컴퓨터를 통해 미리 초고층 강제어초 건조를 실제와 같이 구현해 봄으로써 문제점의 사전 예측 및 대책 수립 등을 가능케 하는 저비용 고효율의 일관설계시스템을 구축하는 것을 목표로 하는 이 프로그램은 객체지향프로그램 기법과 CAD/CAM기술의 도입으로 생산성 향상이 기대되며, OpenGL이라는 그래픽 라이브러리를 도입하여 좀더 빠른 고화질의 3차원 그래픽을 화면상에 나타나게 할 수 있다.

As part of the government's fishery resource creation policy, fishing ground creation projects have been undertaken in Korea's major seashore fishing spots since the 1970s, where artificial reefs constructed using new materials that make up for the weakness of concrete reefs have been used. In this study, the stability of these artificial reefs when acted upon by external forces, their ability to attract and gather fish, and their economic feasibility were examined. For this purpose, an experimental artificial steel reef was constructed and was installed in an area of the sea. Then the corrosion of the experimental material attached to it was investigated. The efficiency of the artificial steel reef was then verified by examining its functionality, removal, and burying, as well as the speed of insertion of living things into its structure and its ability to attract and gather fish.

본 연구는 부산연안에 기 시설된 인공어초에 대해서 현재 시설현황을 분석하고 조사된 결과를 바탕으로 시설된 단위어초의 유효공용적율 평가 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구를 통해 획득되어진 연구결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 부산연안의 연도별 인공어초시설 추이를 살펴본 결과, 단위어초수와 시설면적은 1997년부터 2004년까지 큰 폭의 변동 경향을 나타내었다. 하지만 시설물량에서는 2003년이후 급격하게 감소된 결과를 나타내었는데 강제어초 및 세라믹어초 등 다양한 어초가 사용됨에 따라서 나타난 패턴이라 할 수 있다. 기장군 해역에 시설되어 있는 어초는 2,777개로 89%의 확인율을, 해운대 남구해역은 7,691개로 어초 확인율은 84.9%, 사하 강서해역에의 확인량은 사각형어초의 경우 905개로서 96%, 그 외 어초는 모두 100%이었다. 부산연안에 시설된 인공어초의 경우 그 보존상태가 약 85%이상으로서 매우 양호한 상태를 나타내고 있음을 알 수 있으며 해저 지반조건에 따라서 다소 침하, 이탈, 망실 등 약 15%의 손실이 발생하였다.

Many artificial steel reefs are being built in Japan, however, in Korea, only few steel reefs were manufactured by POSCO, recently. In order to develop their novel types suitable for marine environments near the Korean Peninsula, it is very important to carry out model tests in the initial design stage. In the Ocean Engineering Wide Tank($L{\times}B{\times}D=30{\times}20{\times}2.5m$) and the Circulating Water Channel of the University of Ulsan, Korea, fluid drag forces acting on models of steel reefs with different sizes are measured in waves and currents. Also numerical predictions based on the Wavier-Stokes equation are made and compared with experimental results.
