Viscoelastic Bending Behaviors of Unidirectional Fiber Reinforced Composite C-rings with Asymmetric Material Properties (비대칭물성을 고려한 일축방향 섬유강화 복합재료 C링의 점탄성적 거동해석)

  • In order to optimize the design of unidirectional fiber reinforced composite C-rings, a viscoelastic load relaxation behavior was analyzed under a point load. Initially, the deflection and bending stiffness were calculated based on the elastic beam theory and the viscoelastic relaxation and creep behaviors were derived from the elastic solution using the correspondence theorem. Besides the orthotropic mechanical properties of the composite, asymmetric mechanical property due to the different tensile and compressive properties were also considered. Except the deviation affected by the relatively large thickness of the specimen compared to the radius, the calculated relaxation showed good agreement with the experimental result.

Simplified Analysis of Superstructure Section Considering Diaphragm and Optimum Design Conditions for ILM Bridge (다이아프램이 고려된 ILM 교량 상부단면의 단순해석 및 최적설계조건)

  • ILM(Incremental Launching Method) bridges pass both the middle of spans and supports during launching. The launching noses are used to minimize the maximum positive moments and negative moments of the superstructure occurring during launching for ILM bridges. In this study, the simplified analysis formula considering diaphragm to calculate the bending moment that occurs during launching is induced and analyzes the optimum design conditions considering diaphragm. The accuracy of the proposed simplified analysis formular compared to the MIDAS Civil has an error of less than 5%. There is a difference up to 13% in the moment between the cases when the diaphragm is considered and is not. In addition, the criteria for deciding the unit weight of equivalent cross section and average stiffness value of equivalent cross section that can be applied to the simplified analysis formula is proposed. In this study, an effective way to optimize the launching nose is proposed that the optimum design is taken in the condition of minimizing the negative moment because of the mechanic characteristic of ILM bridges.

Study of Structural Stiffness of Refrigerator Cabinet Using the Topology Optimization of a Vacuum Insulated Panel (VIP) (진공단열재(Vacuum Insulation Panel)를 사용한 냉장고 캐비닛의 구조강성을 위한 위상최적설계에 관한 연구)

  • Currently, polyurethane (PU) foam is used in most refrigerators as a thermal insulator, whereby the material contributes to structural stiffness by joining the refrigerator cases; however, refrigerator PU foam induces a low thermal efficiency and results in environmental contamination. To resolve these issues, we applied the vacuum insulated panel (VIP) instead of PU form in the design of a new refrigerator type, whereby the VIP significantly contributes to the rectification of the previously mentioned issues. The VIP structure, however, cannot effectively hold refrigerator cases, so the present study investigated a new frame-structure concept by evaluating the stiffness using the topology optimization of refrigerator cases. Lastly, a refrigerator prototype comprising an optimal frame structure was built and subject to a stiffness test, and a comparison of the test results with those of a conventional refrigerator show that the structural stiffness of the prototype is sufficiently effective.

  • 본 논고에서는 Radial 및 Axial 하중을 동시에 받을 수 있고, 예압에 의해 주축강성을 증대시킬수 있으며, Ball수의 증가로 부하능력을 향상시킨 초정 밀.초고속용 Angular ball bearing을 조합 사용하고, 고속회전에 지금까지 개 발된 ball bearing 윤활방법 중 가장 효과적인 간헐적인 oil 공급과 air 압력 으로, 계속 ball을 냉각, 윤활시켜주는 air oil 윤활법의 채용과, 국내 공작기 계 제조회사들이 주로 사용하는 일본 FAMUC AC Spindle motor(FAMUC-H type : 8000-15000rpm)를 사용해서 초고속 주축의 최적 설계조건을 제시하기 위한 기초연구 단계로 MT40-12000rpm 급의 Machining center용 Cartridge type의 Spindle unit개발을 통해서 주축설계에 따른 문제점과 연구용 주축제작의 생산 기술적 문제점 및 진동특성을 검토 하고자 한다.

Seismic Response of Soil-Reinforced Segmental Retaining Walls by Finite Element Analysis (유한요소해석에 의한 블록식 보강토 옹벽의 지진시 응답특성)

  • 본 고에서는 블록식 보강토 옹벽의 지진시 거동에 관한 유한요소해석 결과를 다루었다. 보강토 옹벽의 지진시 변위거동을 검토한 결과 벽체저부를 지점으로 하는 캔틸레버형태의 변위 거동을 보였으며 따라서 옹벽 상단부에서의 보강재 인장력 증가가 현저하게 나타나 벽체전반에 걸친 분포양상은 균등한 경향을 보였다. 한편, 지진하중으로 인한 증분유발인장력에 관하여 검토한 결과 기존의 보강토 옹벽 내진설계기준과 비교하여 정성.정량적인 측면에서 상당한 차이를 보였으며 내진설계기준이 전반적으로 과소평가 하는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러서, 내진설계측면에서 변위억제 방안에 관한 매개변수 연구결과 임의 조건에 있어서 최대의 보강효과를 나타내는 보강재 임계 강성과 포설길이가 존재하며 최적의 보강효과를 얻기 위해서는 이에 대한 종합적인 검토가 요구되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 고에서는 연구결과를 종합적으로 고찰하여 실무 적용관점에서의 주안점을 언급하였다.

항로표지 시뮬레이터 적용을 위한 속성 분석

  • 우리나라 항만 입출항 통항 선박의 대형화, 고속화에 따른 해양안전사고가 증가하고 있어 항만 연안 해역에서의 해상교통 안전 확보가 절실히 요구되고 있는 실정으로, 최근 국제항로표지협회(IALA)에서 항로표지 설계와 배치계획에 대한 의사결정을 지원할 수 있는 항로표지 전문 기능 시뮬레이터의 개발과 주요 항로의 항로표지 설계 및 계획 등을 검증할 수 있는 시스템 필요성을 제기하였다. 우리나라 주요 항로의 항로표지 설계와 적정 배치 여부 등을 검증하고 보완할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 시스템이 필요하며 3차원 가상현실 기법을 이용하여 항로표지의 신설 및 이설에 따른 여러 가지 효과를 직관적으로 파악하고 대상 해역의 특성이 고려된 다양한 해상교통환경 변화에 따른 항로표지의 신설 및 이설 효과를 선박 운항자 관점에서 검증하거나, 새로운 항만 항로 건설시 최적 항로표지 배치에 대한 의사결정을 지원하기 위한 항로표지용 시뮬레이터 시스템 개발이 진행되고 있다. 이러한 항로표지 시뮬레이터 개발에 필요한 항로표지 관련 속성에 대하여 기술하였다.

Optimal Topoloty Design of Structures and Ribs Using Density Distribution (밀도 분포를 이용한 구조물 및 리브의 최적 위상 설계)

  • Optimal topology design is to search the optimal configuration of a structure which can be used as a shape at the conceptual design stage. Our objective is to maximize the stiffness of the structures and ribs under a material usage constraintl. The density of each finite element is the design variable and its relationship with Young's modulus is expressed by quadratic form. The configuration is represented by the entire density distribution, the structural analysis is performed by finite element method and the optimiza- tion is performed by Feasible Direction Method. Feasible Direction Method can handle various problems simultaneously, that is, mult-objectives and multi-constraints. Total computation time can be reduced by the quadratic relationship between the density and the material property and fewer design variables than Homogenization Method. Toplogy optimization technique developed in this research is applied to design the shapes of the ribs.

  • To overcome the weaknesses of viaduct bridges and the non-economic efficiency of underground LRT, the study of near-surface railway systems is in progress. To apply a box structure to the low depth transit, a connection joint to precast modules are very important when applying precast modular structures to replace temporary structures. In this study, wall to wall connections were applied in diverse cases such as rebar connections, guiding structures that were used to fit the verticality of precast walls during construction, and non-reinforcement structures used only for waterstop. Experimental performance verification was carried out for the bending, shear and splitting of the wall to wall connection. Precision of construction joints between wall to wall was identified as a factor that influenced the structural performance of the precast wall. A structure that can serve as a guide during the vertical insertion of a wall is confirmed for the most suitable case, but it will be necessary to modify this structure for detailed cases.

Analysis of Ship Collision Behavior of Pile Supported Structure (파일지지 구조물의 선박 충돌거동에 대한 해석)

  • The ship collision analysis of steel pile group as protection system of bridge in navigable waterways was performed to analyze the structural characteristics of protective structure during ship collision. The analysis encompassed finite element modeling of ship and pile, modeling of material non-linearity, hard impact analysis, displacement-based analysis and soft impact analysis for collision scenarios. Through the analysis of hard impact with a rigid wall, impact load for each collision type of ship bow was estimated. In the displacement-based analysis the estimate of energy which protection system can absorb within its maximum horizontal clearance so as to secure bridge pier from vessel contact during collision was performed. Soft impact analysis for various collision scenarios was conducted and the collision behaviors of vessel and pile-supported protection system were reviewed for the design of protection system. The understanding of the energy dissipation mechanism of pile supported structure and colliding vessel would give us the optimized design of protective structure.

  • Flying attitudes of the slider, which are flying height, pitch and roll, are affected by the air flow velocity, the skew angle, and the manufacturing tolerances. Traditional designs of the air bearing surface have considered only the flying performances for the variations in the air flow velocity and the skew angle, which are determined by the radial position. In this study, we present the new shape design of the air bearing surface by considering the track seek performance and the air bearing stiffness as well as the traditional design requirements. The optimization technique is used to improve the dynamic characteristics and operating performance of the newly proposed air bearing surface shape design further. The optimized configuration is obtained automatically and the optimally designed sliders show the enhanced flying and dynamic characteristics.
