  • Background: This study was performed to review the research trends in the treatment of obsessivecompulsive disorder with Morita therapy in China. Methods: We searched articles in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) regarding Morita therapy and "obsessive-compulsive disorder" in medicine and the public health field. And 23 studies were selected and classified. Five before-after comparison studies and 18 randomized controlled trials were performed in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder in China. Results: Morita therapy and western medicine were used for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Most of the studies reported that groups treated with Morita therapy as well as western medicine showed much positive results than those groups treated with western medicine alone. Conclusions: According to this study, Morita therapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder would be an effective and safe intervention. Further clinical studies on the use of Morita therapy in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder should be done in Korea in the near future.

The group of feeling the tongue to be white and the inside of the mouth to be sticky in own symptom inside the mouth was indicated to be 2.02 points(p=0.000) for stress and 2.00 points(p=0.000) for self-awareness of halitosis. The group of often feeling a sense of oral dryness was indicated to be 2.23 points(p=0.000) for stress, 1.95 points(p=0.000) for compulsion, and 1.89 points(p=0.046) for self-awareness of halitosis. The self-awareness of halitosis stood at r=0.133 with compulsion, thereby having indicated slight positive correlation. Stress and compulsion showed high positive correlation with r=0.425. • Objects : This study was carried out to develop the Korean form of Leyton Obsessional Inventory-Child Version(LOI-CV) designed to assess the obsessive compulsive symptoms in children and adolescents. The LOI-CV was modified into a paper-and-pencil form in order to administer it to group. Methods : We applied the Korean form LOI-CV to 127 elementary, middle and high school children, and retest it to 82 children with 3 weeks interval. Together with LOI-CV, Korean form of SCL-90-R which had been proved its reliability and validity, were administered to the all subjects for examining of concurrent validity. And then we examined whether this scale discriminates between obsessive patients, psychiatric controls and normal controls in the level of obsessive symptoms. Results : Test-retest reliability, internal consistency were very satisfactory. Concurrent validity with SCL-90-R was moderate level. And obsessive patients was scored significantly higher than psychiatric and normal controls in the level of obsessive symptoms. In factor analysis, items are clustered to 5 factors. In the global obsessive symptom, obsessive scores of female elimentary school students were higher than that of male students. Conclusions : These results indicate that the Korean form of LOI-CV is reliable and valid self-rating scale to assess the obsessive-compulsive symptoms in Korean children and adolescents. Author suggests that future research is needed for Korean version standardization study in normal and clinic-refered population.

  • The House that Jack Built (2018), a film about how the protagonist Jack is reborn as a "mad artist" with psychotic symptoms during a 12-year killing spree, provides an interesting opportunity to analyze the film in terms of psychoanalysis and religion. Jack, an engineer who suffers from OCD, finds pleasure in the accidental murder of a character and considers killing people as an art form, overcoming his OCD in the process. The question we are interested in is whether the symptoms of OCD are truly overcome by the act of repeated killing. The idea is that Jack's OCD is not overcome by killing, but rather that the symptoms disappear as he moves from neurosis to a stabilized psychotic state. According to the theory of the famous French psychoanalyst Lacan, the hallucinations or delusions that human subjects experience when they lose their realistic stability are a phenomenon that occurs when they are confronted with The Real, which penetrates through the cracks of the symbolic system. Phenomena such as Jack's illusory reality and delusions in the movie are pathological symptoms of the absence of a paternal figure in his life, causing the Name-of-the-Father to fail to take hold. This paper deciphers the psychotic structure of Jack, the protagonist of Lars von Trier's House of Jack, through Lacanian psychoanalysis.
