Fabrication and Reliability Properties of Optical Fiber Sensor Cable for Detecting Intruders (침입자 감지용 광섬유 센서 케이블 제작 및 신뢰성 특성)

  • 최근 광섬유 센서기술의 수요는 전 산업분야에 걸쳐 높아지고 있으며, 이에 비례하여 기업 간, 국가 간 경쟁이 첨예화되고 있다. 또한 소형화, 경량화, 고성능화 센서에 대한 요구도 높아지고 있어 종래의 각종 센서들의 형태와 개선을 위한 연구개발이 매우 활발하게 전개되고 있으므로 이를 대체할 수 있는 광섬유 센서의 수요가 급격히 늘어날 전망이다. 기존 침입자 감지 시스템은 태풍, 낙뢰, 폭설, 폭우 등의 기상변화나 지반 흔들림, 통행차량 진동 및 전자기 간섭 등에 영향을 받아 오작동, 오경보가 빈번히 발생된다. 이러한 문제의 해결책으로 광섬유 센서 케이블을 이용한 시스템이 대안으로 부각되고 있다. 현재 국내에서 군부대, 공항을 중심으로 펜스와 휴전선 철책에 힘입자 감지를 위하여 도입되고 있다. 광섬유 센서 케이블을 사용하는 광망경비시스템은 광섬유 센서 케이블을 그물망 형태(광망)로 만들어 경계 지역에 설치된다. 광망경비시스템의 원리는 광섬유에 광펄스를 입사시켜 순환시키는데 침입자가 광망을 절단하거나 외력을 가할 경우 발생되는 레일리 산란에 기인하는 후방산란과 접속점과 파단점에서 생기는 반사광을 OTDR(Optical Time Domain Reflectometer)로 검출하여 침입상황 및 침입위치를 탐지한다. 그러나 이러한 침입자 감지를 위한 광망경비시스템의 핵심부품인 광섬유 센서 케이블은 기존에 전량 해외수입에 의존하고 있는 실정이며, 지금까지 국내에서 생산하기 위한 제작 기술과 노하우가 초보단계에 머물러 있다. 이러한 광섬유 센서 케이블 제작에 있어서 중요한 부분이 패키징 기술이라 할 수 있다. 이는 광섬유 센서를 일반적인 피복 구조로 패키징하게 되면, 센서 고유의 특성이 패키징 과정과 운반과정, 포설과정에서 변하게 되고 센서로써의 신뢰성이 크게 저하된다. 본 연구에서는 힘입자 감지용 광섬유 센서 케이블의 설계와 제작을 위한 제조공법을 확립하고, 이를 이용해 제작된 광섬유 센서 케이블의 신뢰성 특성을 평가하였다. 설계 제작된 광섬유 센서 케이블의 구조는 멀티모드광섬유(MMF) 에 0.9 mm Tight buffer를 코팅하고, 광심선 주위에 아라미드 얀을 삽입시킨 후 고문자 수지를 적용하여 외부 피복 (jacket)을 하였다. 제작된 광섬유 센서 케이블의 외경 측정결과 기준치 ($2.95\;{\pm}\;0.03$ mm)를 모두 만족하였고, 850 nm 파장에서의 광 손실 측정 결과 4.0 dB/km 이하였다. 또한 주요 항목의 신뢰성 특성 시험결과, 인장강도는 8~10 kg의 인장력을 갖으며 온도순환시험 ($-30^{\circ}C\;{\sim}\;+75^{\circ}C$)에서의 광 손실은 0.6 dB 이하로 나타나 침입자 감지용 광섬유 센서 케이블로 적합함을 확인할 수 있었다.

A Study on the Improvement of Leak Alarm Reliability of Gas Meter for Leak Inspection according to Boiler Usage Pattern (보일러 사용 패턴에 따른 누출점검용 가스계량기 누출 알람 신뢰도 개선 연구)

  • Among urban gas-using facilities, more and more cases are using gas meters for leakage inspection instead of inspection ports for concealment pipes. Leak alarm alarms were continuously generated according to the boiler's special usage pattern in an environment where there was no actual gas leakage among some households where this meter was installed. It does not perform its original function of detecting actual gas leakage. Based on these problems, this study analyzed the conditions under which the gas meter for leakage inspection generates leakage alarms according to the boiler's special gas use pattern, and sought a set value that can generate an alarm only in the case of actual gas leakage. Through this, it is intended to relieve citizens' anxiety about gas use due to malfunction of the alarm and at the same time perform the original function of the meter that can detect leaking gas.

A Study on Response Characteristics of Photoelectric Type Smoke Detector Chamber Due to Dust Color (분진색상에 따른 광전식연기감지기 챔버의 응답특성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is based on a study of the response characteristics of photoelectric type smoke detector chambers according to dust color. Due to an amendment to the Fire Safety Codes to automatic fire alarm systems and visual alarm device, the installation of indoor smoke detectors has become mandatory, but in Korea there is still insufficient research on the non-operation or false alarms that could arise in indoor environments by indoor dust and other environmental conditions etc. In light of this, for this study, research was conducted on the indoor adaptability of smoke detector under various colors of fiber dust that were judged to occur most frequently in among the common indoor dust, photoelectric smoke detector with the lattice-type smoke detection chamber that the smoke detector which is most popular in the country was used, and four colors of fiber dust (brown, white, gray and black) were used the test dusts for carrying out dust and sensitivity testing. Also, the voltage of the photocell part of the smoke chamber was measured, and the scattering phenomenon in the chamber was observed. The result of the testing showed that all four dust types were suitable for dust and sensitivity testing under conditions of pollution A. Yet, there were occasions, at pollution B or C, where the brown, white and gray dust would cause fail alarm during operation testing. And black dust was confirmed to cause non-operation during operation testing. In the case of brown and white dust, the voltage measurement result of the photocell part of the smoke chamber confirmed that the voltage increases as the pollution level increases, and in the case of gray and black dust, the voltage decreases.

Implementation of Prevention and Eradication System for Harmful Wild Animals Based on YOLO (YOLO에 기반한 유해 야생동물 피해방지 및 퇴치 시스템 구현)

  • Every year, the number of wild animals appearing in human settlements increases, resulting in increased damage to property and human life. In particular, the damage is more severe when wild animals appear on highways or farmhouses. To solve this problem, ecological pathways and guide fences are being installed on highways. In addition, in order to solve the problem in farms, horn repelling using sensors, installing a net, and repelling by smell of excrement are being used. However, these methods are expensive and their effectiveness is not high. In this paper, we used YOLO (You Only Look Once), an AI-based image analysis method, to analyze harmful animals in real time to reduce malfunctions, and high-brightness LEDs and ultrasonic frequency speakers were used as extermination devices. The speaker outputs an audible frequency that only animals can hear, increasing the efficiency to only exterminate wild animals. The proposed system is designed using a general-purpose board so that it can be installed economically, and the detection performance is higher than that of the devices using the existing sensor.

The Design of the Obstacle Avoidances System for Unmanned Vehicle Using a Depth Camera (깊이 카메라를 이용한 무인이동체의 장애물 회피 시스템 설계)

  • With the technical development and rapid increase of private demand, the new market for unmanned vehicle combined with the characteristics of 'unmanned automation' and 'vehicle' is rapidly growing. Even though the pilot driving is currently allowed in some countries, there is no country that has institutionalized the formal driving of self-driving cars. In case of the existing vehicles, safety incidents are frequently happening due to the frequent malfunction of the rear sensor, blind spot of the rear camera, or drivers' carelessness. Once such minor flaws are complemented, the relevant regulations for the commercialization of self-driving car and small drone could be relieved. Contrary to the ultrasonic and laser sensors used for the existing vehicles, this paper aims to attempt the distance measurement by using the depth sensor. A depth camera calculates the distance data based on the TOF method calculating the time difference by lighting laser or infrared light onto an object or area and then receiving the beam coming back. As this camera can obtain the depth data in the pixel unit of CCD camera, it can be used for collecting depth data in real-time. This paper suggests to solve problems mentioned above by using depth data in real-time and also to design the obstacle avoidance system through distance measurement.
