Effects of Cognitive Focus and Affective Focus on Attitude and Buying Intention in DMB Cellular Phone Purchasing (인지초점과 감정초점이 DMB 휴대폰에 대한 태도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study investigated the effects of focus on consumers' attitudes and buying intentions. For these purposes, researcher compare the attitudes and buying intentions by focus groups after presenting cognitive and affective product informations about a cellular-phone. The results of present experiment were as follow: First, cognitive focus led to highest cognitive attitude and affective focus also led to highest affective attitude. Second, It was highest buying intention in an affective focus and lowest in a non-focus. Third, a cognitive focus resulted in more cognitive words being recalled, by comparison with an affective focus, whereas an affective focus resulted in more affective words being recalled, by comparison with a cognitive focus. But they were not significant. These results show that cognitive and affective focuses lead to different attitudes that differ in their basis. An attitude formed in an affective focus results in a stronger buying intention than an attitude formed in an cognitive focus. The present findings also suggest that the different focus conditions result in different attitudes and buying intentions being formed, and to be diluting but to more enduring effects.

The Differences of Self-Validation, Regulatory Focus and Information Distortion Between Happiness and Sadness (행복감정과 슬픔감정 간의 자기타당화와 규제초점 및 정보왜곡의 차이)

  • This paper compared self-validation and regulatory focus between consumers who felt happy vs. sad prior to decision and explored the effects of self-validation on regulatory focus and information distortion. The results of empirical analysis are as follows. First, consumers who felt happy beforehand revealed larger self-validation and stronger promotion focus than those who felt sad in advance. Second, compared to sadness, just-felt happiness was found to have partially positive impact on promotion focus by means of self-validation and exercise entirely positive impact on information distortion through mediation of self-validation. This study has made theoretic contributions by identifying the differences in the extent of self-validation and promotion focus between happiness and sadness as ambient emotion felt prior to the impending decision making as well as by investigating the effects of self-validation upon information distortion.

  • Previous researches related to emotional labor have been cross-sectional studies focusing on static differences in emotional exhaustion. Previous studies on these relationships have not highlighted the dynamic properties of these relationships. This purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of emotional labor strategy on perceived emotional exhaustion and depression. This study was conducted by paying attention to the fact that service industry workers who have to respond kindly to customers often have to show emotions which is necessary for their business to the outside world rather than showing their true emotions. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, it was confirmed that surface acting had a positive influence on emotional exhaustion, but deep acting had a negative influence to emotional exhaustion. Second, it was found that surface acting had a positive influence on depression, but deep acting had a negative influence on depression. Third, it was confirmed that the effect of deep acting on emotional exhaustion decreased when emotional labor was performed through deep acting on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, while emotional exhaustion was not significant on Thursdays and Fridays. Fourth, it was confirmed that the difference in the effect of emotional labor strategy on depression was greater in the case of performing emotional labor through surface acting than in the case of performing emotional labor through deep acting.

The Effects of Regulatory Focus and Donees' Facial Expression on Intention of Doing a Charitable Deed (기부자의 조절초점과 기부수혜자의 표정제시방식이 기부의도에 미치는영향)

  • The previous studies regarding prosocial behavior have been researched based on donors' personal traits and the effects of donees emotions. However, studies in identifying the effects of regulatory focus as motivational traits and the emotions resulting from donees' expression on prosocial behaviors have not been researched as much thoroughly. Specifically, consumers with prevention-focus perceive fit as the goal attainability process by avoiding negative factors. Thus, it is expected that the intentions of doing a charitable deed greater will more increase when the donees look sad than when they look happy. On the other hand, consumers with promotion-focus perceive fit as the consequential benefits of goal attainability when they are in the condition of a positive emotion. As a result, the intention of doing a charitable deed is expected to be increased greater when the donees have happier faces than sad faces. According to the experimental results, consumers with prevention focus more intended to do a charitable deed when the donees' expression was presented with a sad expression by mediating sadness. On the contrary, consumers with promotion focus show higher intention of doing a charitable deed when the donees looked happier by mediating happy feelings. This study has a theoretical meaningfulness in respect to expanding previous research concerning regulatory focus into donation contexts. Furthermore, this study has practical implications by presenting the donation strategies on information presentations of donees.

  • Prior researchs on Internet shopping have focused on cognitive, technological factors, but this research is focused on emotions experienced during internet shopping. Examines emotion types experienced during internet shopping and shopping mall characteristics influencing emotional response and effect of emotions on internet shopping behavior, specifically focusing on gender difference The data, collected from a sample of 131 internet shoppers, indicate that emotion types experienced during internet shopping and shopping mall characteristics influencing emotional response and emotional response influencing internet shopping behavior are difference between female and male. Theses results provide insights on internet shopping mall management according to gender.

  • 컴퓨터 기술이 발전하고, 널리 보급됨에 따라 컴퓨터와 사용자간의 인터페이스가 인간 친화적으로 발전하고 있다. 현재 진행되고 있는 사용자 친화적인 인터페이스 기술로는 지능성뿐 아니라 감정을 가지는 캐릭터 에이전트가 있다. 본 논문은 캐릭터 에이전트의 감정을 생성하고 표현하는 방법에 초점을 두고자 한다. 먼저, 캐릭터가 가질 수 잇는 감정에 대한 타입을 정의하고 이들의 관계를 나타낸 계층 구조를 정의하였다. 본 논문은 효율적인 감정 추론을 모형화 하기 위해서 블랙보드 기반의 다단계 인지 모형을 제안한다. 첫 단계는 감정을 이끌어 내는 외부 환경을 평가 처리하는 메타 인터프리터이다. 둘째 단계는 이러한 메타 인터프리터를 통하여 얻은 결과를 이용하여 감정을 추론하고 생성하는 분야 인터프리터이다. 셋째 단계는 감정추론의 진행 중에 발생하는 모든 동적 상태를 보유하며, 감정추론을 돕는 블랙보드이다. 블랙 보드 기반의 다단계 인지 모형에서 추론된 여러 감정들은 계층구조에 의하여 추상화 과정을 거쳐 캐릭터의 행동으로 표현하게 된다.

  • 자연스러운 대화가 가능한 인공지능 대화시스템을 구축하기 위해서는 사용자의 문장에 내재된 감정을 이해할 수 있는 시스템이어야만 한다. 또한 상호간의 대화를 통해서 풍겨지는 분위기를 파악할 수 있다면 사용자에게 마치 인간과 대화하는 듯한 자연스러움을 느끼도록 할 수 있을 것이다. 실제 대화에서 감정은 언어적인 표현뿐 아니라 비언어적인 표현으로도 표출되지만, 본 논문은 텍스트 상에서 언어적으로 표현되는 감정 정보를 인식하는데 초점을 둔다. 언어적인 표현으로 한정하여 감정을 인식하는 경우에는 감정을 직접 표현하고 있는 형용사나 동사가 중심이 된다. 본 논문에서는 형용사를 중심으로 하여 화행 정보와 결합하여 감정을 인식하는 시스템에 대해서 제시하고자 한다. 이 논문은 문장에 내재되어 있는 숨겨진 감정이나 분위기 등을 파악하기 위한 연구에 대한 선행 연구로서 텍스트 상에서 직접 드러나는 감정을 인식하기 위한 방법을 제안한다.

  • 상황인식 컴퓨팅 환경에서 가장 핵심적인 부분은 서비스를 제공받는 객체의 상황(Context)을 인식하고 정보화하여 그 상황에 따라서 객체 중심의 지능화된 최적의 서비스를 제공해 주는 것이다. 이러한 지능화된 최적의 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 최적의 상황을 인식하는 상황인식 컴퓨팅 기술 연구와 그 상황을 설계하는 모델링 기술이 중요하다. 또한, 인간과 컴퓨터간의 의사소통을 원활히 할 수 있는 최적의 상황을 인식해야 한다. 현재까지 연구된 대부분의 상황인식 컴퓨팅 기술은 상황정보로 객체의 위치정보와 객체의 식별정보만을 주로 사용하고 있다. 그러므로 지정된 공간에서 상황을 발생시키는 객체를 식별하는 일과 식별된 객체가 발생하는 상황의 인식에만 주된 초점을 두고 있다. 그러나 본 논문에서는 객체의 감정표현단어를 상황정보로 사용하여 감정인식을 위한 상황인식 미들웨어로서 ECAM의 구조를 제안한다. ECAM은 감정표현단어의 범주화 기술을 기반으로 온톨로지를 구축하여 객체의 감정을 인식한다. 객체의 감정표현단어 정보를 상황정보로 사용하고, 인간의 감정에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 환경정보(온도, 습도, 날씨)를 추가하여 인식한다. 객체의 감정을 표현하기 위해서 OWL 언어를 사용하여 온톨로지를 구축하였으며, 감정추론 엔진은 Jena를 사용하였다.

Effect of Customer's Emotion Experienced during Internet Shopping On Shopping Behavior According to Internet Shopping Motivation (인터넷 쇼핑동기에 따른 인터넷 쇼핑몰 특성과 고객감정 및 행동과의 관계)

The data, collected from a sample of 323 internet shoppers, indicate that emotion types experienced during internet shopping and shopping mall characteristics influencing emotional response and emotional response influencing internet shopping behavior are difference among shopping motivation. Theses results provide insights on internet shopping mall management according to shopping motivation.

The Effects of Relational Efforts on Gratitude, Indebtedness and Purchase Behaviors in Service Encounter (서비스 접점에서 종업원의 관계투자가 감사, 신세 그리고 구매행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines influences of service employees' relational efforts on gratitude, indebtedness and purchase behaviors. The results follower like these. First, service employees' relational efforts have positive effects on gratitude(feelings of gratitude and gratitude-based reciprocal behaviors). And gratitude has a positive effect on purchase behaviors. Second, service employees' relational efforts have positive effects on indebtedness and indebtedness has a positive effect on purchase behaviors. It means gratitude and indebtedness can use marketing factors to influence on consumer behavior. But, indebtedness showed significantly close to the threshold, and the impact of indebtedness on purchase behaviors has the lowest than feelings of gratitude and gratitude-based reciprocal behaviors. Thus, it needs to be careful to use indebtedness as a marketing factor.
