Difference in Patient's Work of Breathing Between Pressure-Controlled Ventilation with Decelerating Flow and Volume-Controlled Ventilation with Constant Flow during Assisted Ventilation (보조환기양식으로서 감속형유량의 압력-조절환기와 일정형유량의 용적-조절환기에서 환자의 호흡일의 차이)

  • Background : The patient's work of breathing(WOBp) during assisted ventilation may vary according to many factors including ventilatory demand of the patients and applied ventilatory setting by the physician. Pressure-controlled ventilation(PCV) which delivers gas with decelerating flow may better meet patients' demand to improve patient-ventilator synchrony compared with volume-controlled ventilation(VCV) with constant flow. This study was conducted to compare the difference in WOBp in two assisted modes of ventilation, PCV and VCV with constant flow. Methods : Ten patients with respiratory failure were included in this study. Initially, the patients were placed on VCV with constant flow at low tidal volume($V_{T,\;LOW}$)(6-8 ml/kg) or high tidal volume($V_{T,\;HIGH}$)(10-12 ml/kg). After a 15 minute stabilization period, VCV with constant flow was switched to PCV and pressure was adjusted to maintain the same tidal volume($V_T$) received on VCV. Other ventilator settings were kept constant. Before changing the ventilatory mode, WOBp, $V_T$, minute ventilation($V_E$), respiratory rate(RR), peak airway pressure (Ppeak), peak inspiratory flow rate(PIFR) and pressure-time product(PTP) were measured. Results : The mean $V_E$ and RR were not different between PCV and VCV during the study period. The Ppeak was significantly lower in PCV than in VCV during $V_{T,\;HIGH}$. HIGH ventilation(p<0.05). PIFR was significantly higher in PCV than in VCV at both $V_T$ (p<0.05). During $V_{T,\;LOW}$ ventilation, WOBp and PTP in PCV($0.80{\pm}0.37\;J/min$, $164.5{\pm}74.4\;cmH_2O.S$) were significantly lower than in VCV($1.06{\pm}0.39J/mm$, $256.4{\pm}107.5\;cmH_2O.S$)(p<0.05). During $V_{T,\;HIGH}$ ventilation, WOBp and PTP in PCV($0.33{\pm}0.14\;J/min$, $65.7{\pm}26.3\;cmH_2O.S$) were also significantly lower than in VCV($0.40{\pm}0.14\;J/min$, $83.4{\pm}35.1\;cmH_2O.S$)(p<0.05). Conclusion : During assisted ventilation, PCV with decelerating flow was more effective in reducing WOBp than VCV with constant flow. But since individual variability was shown, further studies are needed to confirm these results.

  • It needs to consider of turns during a path-finding on real road network. Because a car is delayed by waiting a traffic signal and decreasing speed when drived in a turn road such as cross road and slip road. If a straightness of a path is increased, a real cost of traveling should be able to decrease. An older method, the algorithm with Turn Heuristic, considered of this case. The algorithm, that differently gave weights to left, right and U-turns, improved a straightness of a path, but increased a cost of exploring. In this paper, we propose a improved Turn Heuristic Algorithm. Proposed algorithm uses Dynamic Turn Heuristic. It is able to more decrease a cost of exploring than older method by using the Turn Heuristic in a part of path-finding.

  • The power measurement of main propulsion system on the new vessels can be classified with the direct method acquired from the shaft's strain using strain gauge and the indirect method converted and summed from all of cylinders combustion pressure using mechanical or electrical pickup device during the sea trial. This power is fluctuated by external factors which was influenced by various sea motions with long time interval and by internal factors which was influenced by varying torques of torsional vibration and bending moment, due to mis-aligned shaft and whirling vibration with short time interval. In this paper, the statistical analysis method for the shaft power measurement and assessment using strain gauge in marine vessels are introduced. And these are identified by the low speed two stroke diesel engine model and four stroke medium speed diesel engine model including reduction gear.

  • 가축의 영양소 요구량 유지, 비육, 증체, 생산, 번식, 계절환경에 따라 달라지는 변동요인을 감안하여 하루 동안에 필요로 하는 영양소 요구량을 충족하도록 여러 종류의 사료를 혼합한 TMR(Total Mixed Ration)사료의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 이에 가축의 생산성 향상(등급 향상)과 축산농가의 영농비용 절감, 생력화를 위해 범용적으로 사용가능한 TMR플랜트의 개발이 반드시 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 사료비절감을 위한 식품부산물 발효탱크의 개발을 통해 발효탱크 밑 부분을 구성하고 있는 스위프오거와 이를 고정하면서 Z축으로 회전하는 고정부를 대상으로 하여 시각화 할 수 있는 FEM 시뮬레이션 기법을 이용하여 작업 중 적용되는 하중에 대해 충분한 구조 안전성을 가지고 있는지 해석하였다. 스위프오거의 재질은 SM45C, 작용하는 하중은 감속기의 출력량, RPM을 이용하여 토크 값을 구하고 조사료와 부산물사료가 포함된 TMR사료의 무게와 스위프오거의 단면적을 이용하여 압력 값을 도출하였다. 하지만 부산물사료가 발효되면서 저장탱크를 통해 배출되기 때문에 전체 사료 무게가 줄어 스위프오거에 작용하는 압력 또한 작아지는 것을 확인하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 저장탱크에서 TMR사료가 배출되기 직전의 가장 높은 압력 상태를 가정하였다. 이 가정을 통해 토크 값은 $1.4N{\cdot}m$, 압력 값은 43 Mpa으로 나타났고 이를 바탕으로 구조해석을 진행하였다. 그 결과 스위프오거는 고정단 부근에서 최대 폰 미세스 응력 310 Mpa이 발생하여 구조적으로 가장 취약한 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 이는 SM45C의 항복강도인 343 Mpa 보다 낮아 안전한 것으로 분석된다. 또한 사료가 배출되면서 스위프오거에 작용하는 압력이 작아져 폰 미세스 응력도 작아지는 것으로 나타났다.

Measurement of Maneuverability in the Restricted Area by Numerical Model Ship (수치 모형선에 의한 제한수역에서의 조종성능 측정)

  • The ship maneuverability is changed by the effects of the bank cushion and the squat in the restricted water area. It is difficult to test the ship maneuverability by the real ship in the restricted water area because of ship's safety. In this study, a numerical model ship was used to simulate the ship's motion and to get information about the bank cushion and the squat in the restricted water area. The less apart from the quay the ship ran, the more ship's heading changed. The greatest change of ship's heading was $22.37^{\circ}$ when a ratio of the length between ship and quay to ship's breadh(=D/B) was 0.2. The squat of the ship was greater in shallower water and at faster speed. The greatest squat was 0.29m when a ratio of water depth to ship's draft(H/d) was 1.25 and ship's speed was 8 knots, the reduced speed was found to be the most important factor in the shallow water area for safety of the ship.

  • 수제는 주로 호안 또는 하안 전면부에 설치하는 구조물로써 기존의 수제 설치는 하안 및 제방의 보호, 유로제어 및 주운 등의 목적에 의해 이루어졌다. 최근 들어서는 수제하류부의 흐름분리로 인해 발생되는 재순환 영역(recirculation zone)과 국부세굴에 의해 발생하는 세굴공이 수중생물의 다양한 서식처 및 홍수 시어류의 피난처로 활용될 수 있다는 점 등의 환경기능이 부각되면서 수제에 대한 설치목적이 다양화 되었다. 월류수제는 흐름이 수제 투과정도를 나타내는 투과율과 함께 다뤄지기는 기존의 실험연구에서는 수위가 수제의 머리부를 초과함에 따라 월류되는 흐름은 과도한 난류의 발생 등 투과수제에 비해 수제부근에 더 많은 영향을 미친다고 하였다. 이러한 과도한 난류의 발생은 수제를 월류하는 흐름은 상류에서는 가속되다가 수제 하류부로 흘러내리면서 다시 감속되어 교란되기 때문이다. 이러한 월류수제의 흐름특성은 수제 주변 국부세굴에 영향을 미친다. 특히 우리나라 하천은 홍수시 수위의 변화가 매우 크기 때문에 일반적인 불투과 수제라 하더라도 대부분의 수제가 월류수제처럼 거동한다. 따라서 수위가 증가함에 따라 월류가 발생하는 수제의 경우 비월류 구조물과는 세굴심의 변화가 다르게 발생할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 월류수제 주변에서 발생되는 국부세굴이 수중생물의 다양한 서식처 및 피난처로 활용될 수 있다는 관점에서 세굴영역(세굴부피)과 세굴심의 관계에 대한 수리모형실험을 수행하고 분석하였다. 월류수제의 세굴실험은 축척의 영향을 최소화하기 위해 $7m(W){\times}40m(L){\times}1.5m(H)$ 규격의 대형 수로에서 수행하였으며 세굴변화에 미치는 시간축척의 영향을 파악하기 위해 $70{\sim}90$ 시간 동안 실험을 수행하였다. 세굴의 측정은 투명한 아크릴로 제작된 수제 내부에 CC카메라를 수제 전 후면 및 측면에 설치하여 월류수제의 세굴 발생을 실시간으로 측정하며 동시에 수제의 각 면에 각각 3개의 압력센서를 설치하여 압력분포를 측정함으로써, 월류수제 주변의 압력변화에 따른 세굴심의 실시간 변화를 비교할 수 있도록 하였다.

Kinetic Analysis of Golf Fat Shot (골프 Fat shot에 대한 운동역학적 분석)

  • When the golf club hits the ground prior to making contact with the golf ball, we define it as 'fat shot'. The aim of this research was to investigate the difference between normal shot and fat shot in golf. Five candidates playing as recreational golfer participated in this research and they were all right-handed people. Time phase between each event, wrist cocking angle, elbow extension-flexion angle, backswing height, pelvis angle, thorax angle, L-GRF, R-GRF, pelvis linear velocity, pelvis angular velocity and COG path were calculated. For statistical analysis the paired T-test was used. An early un-cocking, an early right elbow extension and impact with leaving their weight behind foot were not reasons of fat shot. Backswing height, X-Factor, pelvis angle and thorax rotation angle were not different between normal shot and fat shot. But we could find a pattern of abrupt pelvic movement and weight shift to target direction just before impact in case of fat shot. In addition fat shot showed time-delayed and small value of pelvis linear velocity pattern to upward during downswing phase as against normal shot.

An Analysis of the Effects of Signalized Intersection Density on Travel Speed for Korea's National Highways (신호등 설치 밀도가 일반국도의 구간 통행속도에 미치는 영향분석)

  • Korea's national highways, which emphasize a high level of mobility, serve primarily intercity travel and are used as a detour for freeways. However. at the present. the highways do not have consistent geometric features or other characteristics: for example. some highways have full access control and others have uncontrolled access. Generally, geometric and traffic conditions affect Pronouncedly travel speeds in the highway sections. This study focused on the effect of signalized intersection relative factors on the speeds: signalized intersection densities, signal phases, and volume levels. The study shows that signalized intersection density was the strongest variable affecting the travel speeds: the speeds held fairly constant over intersection densities below 0.3 intersections/km, decreased sharply through intersection density of 0.7 intersections/km. and appeared constant at the lowest level over intersection densities above 0.7 intersections/km. The results also indicate that the effect of signal and traffic volume levels on the speeds was similar to that of the signalized intersection density.

Evaluation on the Fuel Efficiency of Hi-Pass System (고속도로 하이패스 시스템의 연료감소효과 평가)

  • Around a toll plaza, vehicles do such maneuvers as slow down, stop, and speed up to pay their tolls when they use ordinary toll gates. They can be expected more fuel consumptions compared to the vehicles which use the Hi-pass, a Korean type of Electronic Toll Collection System(ETCS). To measure the exact amount of difference between the two gas consumptions, we equipped a test vehicle with a measurement system and constructed a model toll gate on our test field. Through the field tests on fuel consumptions, we could confirm a 36.7 % of energy saving when the test car used the Hi-pass. Then we projected the result on the total traffic volumes which had used national expressway network for five months from January 2009. Projected to the whole traffic, potential cost savings reached 5.34 billion won. We expect this result be frequently mentioned of to prove the fuel efficiency of the Hi-pass system.

Engine output accordingly, linear and torsional vibration reducer by, elastic coupling selection transverse vibration and shaft alignment (Shaft alignment) considering the shaft design (bearing size, width, thickness) and the primary drive shaft support portion of the hull structure of evaluated for quality.
