  • Such changes that the digital paradigm brought propels a change of the value system itself in the existing society so that a way of thinking that differentiates oneself from others is getting much stronger. As public interests are higher in the image production on the internet, such authoring environments as development of related technologies, expansibility of information, and systematization of available information continue to change. Therefore, a variety of unique image presentations that fit to the changed environments are necessary and an expression method is indispensable for such image production. It suggests digital image application methods and examples that contain not just simple image distortion or variation but intrinsic significance. It is believed that it will be of good use to produce a variety of unique and innate digital images in the end.

  • With its history of two thousand years of studying the human mind, Confucianism may be applied to contemporary emotional science for its unique perspectives and methodologies in understanding the origin of the human mind. By examining the Confucian understanding of human mind according to general Confucian ideas as well as the scholar, LEE Whang's, an idea similar to contemporary 'emotion' in Confucianism was discovered. Importance of the sentiment was not in the resulting goodness originating from one's fundamental nature, but rather its goodness was only achieved when human nature manifested itself without any distortion. This good emotion, namely 'sensibility', presents the essential difference Confucian understanding bears in comparison to the contemporary concept. And the system for grasping the human mind was considered to be the viewpoint of examining the contents and subject of function than a formal system of functioning human mind. It assumes the stance of looking into thehuman mind from the general and synthetic view of contemporary cognitive, emotional, biological and philosophical perspectives. Overall, the researchconcludes that there existed a long history of high-level research into the human mind in Confucianism that may satisfactorily provide partial reference and understanding as well as consequent perspectives and knowledge for discovering the common denominator with the emotional science.

  • The effect of color evokes a certain feeling and affects behavior. Especially, an understanding and applying color are critical because well-designed color substantially contributes to quality and usability. In this study, the effects of three color components(hue, value, and chroma) on apparent warmth were investigated separately and relatively, and then feasibility of applying to the information display was examined. The result showed that the apparent warmth of 10 Hues was a U-shaped function declining from Red to Purple-Blue and increasing from Purple-Blue to Red-Purple with following order of color-circle. Chroma made the character of hues remarkably clear, so warm color becomes warmer and cool color becomes cooler if chroma gets higher. But value has no effect on warmth. These results propose that we can change the apparent warmth by varying chroma in the limitation of color use. And there was a sharp distinction between warm and cool color, Meanwhile, in the reading task of the graphical information, the subjects' judgment distortion overestimating or underestimating the actual degrees was ascertained. This result should be applied to control operator's sensitivity in accordance with the purpose of task and display.

  • This paper has the first aim to analyze Elsa's magic power of why and how she, as a heroine in the animation of Frozen, is in the emotion of fear and anger. This paper will explain why these two emotions are twisted compound to identify Elsa's iced emotion in the ice kingdom. And secondly, this paper attempts to connect Elsa's fear emotion in her real life is the other flip with that of anger throughout the characters' network in Frozen, which symbolically reflect the feminine pattern of real society that Walt Disney prospects for the dream society. Through the cognitive process for Elsa's ice kingdom between emotion status and social network, we can assume the pattern of social network with emotional chart and the archetype of human emotion through the cognitive-emotional storytelling on the emotion of Elsa in Frozen.

  • The weight of an object is an important research topic in terms of sense, and objects have size-weight, color-weight, and material-weight illusions due to the influence of size, color, and material and the weight of the object. Although temperature is a very important environmental factor in our daily life, there is a dearth of studies on how the temperature of an object affects its perceived weight. This study analyzed the effect of an object's temperature on the perceived weight. A stainless steel cup, in which weight and temperature are easily adjustable, was selected as a perceived weight measurement object; 5 temperature levels (0, 9, 20, 40, 70 degrees) and 2 weight levels (250, 400 g) were set. A total of 40 healthy men and women in their 20s participated in the experiment. The weight of the given cup compared to the reference cup was evaluated according to the modulus method. The study revealed that both temperature and weight significantly affected the perceived weight. The effect of temperature on the weight was different depending on the weight of the object. When the cup's weight was small (250 g), the temperature of the cup did not affect the weight. However, the perceived weight of a large cup (400 g) increased at a low temperature. This result suggests that the effect of temperature on the weight of an object depends on the size-weight illusion.

  • In order to concludes that human being is in the making, not a being already perfectly made, this paper goes through four steps. The first step raises a question that human being is only a being of reason. The Kant's assertion that human being has a moral capacity of 'good will' seems to be distorted portrait of human being. The second step calls into a question that human being can obey universal moral laws. Any universal moral law can't be obeyed by moral agent, because he can't exclude his external situations which are ceaselessly changing. Nevertheless imperatives of reason which require to obey the universal moral laws seems to be a 'unfortunate legacy' to human being. The third step demonstrates that imperatives of reason are originated from dualism which have dichotomize "mind vs. body" as "internal capacity vs. external situation". According to dualism, imperatives of reason require internal capacity to exclude emotions or desires which are sensitive to external influences. The fourth step discusses that interacting of inner and outer is to be necessary for human being. Then, reason is to be really in one glove with emotions which are beginning form externals, otherwise reason can't stop being powerless to any external situation. Concludingly any human being is to be processing to a new being, not situating any extreme antagonism of "reason vs. emotion". Because of emotional human animal, not a perfect god, humans being is in the ceaseless process into the making a new self.

  • Users in social media post various types of opinions such as product reviews and movie reviews. It is a common trend that customers get assistance from the opinions in making their decisions. However, as opinion usage grows, distorted feedbacks also have increased. For example, exaggerated positive opinions are posted for promoting target products. So are negative opinions which are far from common evaluations. Finding these biased opinions becomes important to keep social media reliable. Techniques of opinion mining (or sentiment analysis) have been developed to determine sentiment polarity of opinionated documents. These techniques can be utilized for finding the biased opinions. However, the previous techniques have some drawback. They categorize the text into only positive and negative, and they also need a large amount of training data to build the classifier. In this paper, we propose methods for discovering the biased opinions which are skewed from the overall common opinions. The methods are based on angle based outlier detection and personalized PageRank, which can be applied without training data. We analyze the performance of the proposed techniques by presenting experimental results on a movie review dataset.
