Differences in Visual Sensibility Evaluation of Basic Color Fashion Materials in Person and on Digital Screens (실물과 디지털 화면에서 베이직 컬러 패션 소재의 시각적 감각 평가 차이)

  • The perception of a fashion product may vary depending on the texture and color of its material. Additionally, the product may appear differently in person versus on a digital screen. Therefore, in the present study, we sought to investigate the differences in visual sensibility evaluation between materials in person and on digital screens. In this study, three pairs of visual sensibility adjectives were tested for 60 samples selected as fashion materials. Fashion materials were divided into colors, embossings, and visual clarity categories. Results showed that each color had the same sense during in-person and digital evaluation. In terms of visual sensibility according to embossing, both in-person and digital evaluations of materials with embossings were found to have the same visual sense, whereas those without embossings looked different between in-person and digital evaluations. Assessments based on visual classification showed that both in-person and digital evaluations had the same sensibility. This study is meaningful in suggesting that when evaluating the visual sense of fashion material, the sensation for the digital screen versus in person may be different in some cases.

The Effects of Sensory Integration Intervention on Play in Children With Sensory Modulation Disorder (감각통합치료가 감각조절장애 아동의 놀이에 미치는 효과)

  • Objective : This study is to verify effect of a sensory integration (SI) intervention on sensory processing of children with sensory modulation disorder (SMD), and to explore how the SI intervention affect play, socialization, occupational performance and occupational satisfaction of those children. Method : Five children with developmental disabilities living in metropolitan were diagnosed as SMD by the Sensory History Interview (SHI) and Short Sensory Profile (SSP). The SMD children undergone the 48 sessions of 50 min intervention twice in a week for six months and took the Revised Knox Preschool Play Scale(RKPPS), Social maturity test, Canadian Occupational Performance Measure(COPM), and Japanese Sensory Inventory Revised(JSI-2) before- and after the intervention. The result data analyzed by the Wilcoxon matched-pair signed rank test. Results : All data of post-intervention differed significantly; RKPPS(Z=-2.023, p=.043), Social maturity test(Z=-2.023, p=.043); occupational performance(Z=-2.023, p=.043); satisfaction(Z=-2.032, p=.042); and tactile system of JSI-2(Z=-2.032, p=.042). Conclusions : The results advocate that sensory integration intervention is effective in improving tactile processing, play, socialization, occupational performance, and occupational satisfaction of child with SMD. It is found that sensory integration intervention improves not only one's occupational performance but also underlying components of the performance. In order to generalize this conclusion, further studies need to be done with more number of subjects and consideration of environmental factors. Striving for more reliable and valid methods of data collection is also suggested.

  • Product design is being recognized as an important source of sustainable competitive advantage. This research explores the effects of design evaluative elements on brand loyalty through design values. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, most design evaluative elements have positive effects on design values. Aesthetic, unique, feminine, noble, and utilitarian elements of design evaluation influence three types of design values: rational, kinesthetic, and emotional. While unique design evaluative element does not have significant effects on rational and kinesthetic design values, it has significant affect on the emotional design value positively. Secondly, three types of design values have positive effects on attitudinal brand loyalty. In addition, emotional and kinesthetic design values have positive influences on behavioral brand loyalty. However, the emotional design value has an indirect effect on behavioral brand loyalty through attitudinal brand loyalty. Lastly, attitudinal brand loyalty has a significant influence on behavioral brand loyalty positively.

An Evaluation of Human Sensibility on Perceived Texture for Real Haptic Representation (사실적인 햅틱 표현을 위한 질감지각 감성 평가)

  • This paper describes an experiment on the evaluation of human sensibility by monitoring responses to changes In the frequency and amplitude of a tactile display system. Preliminary tasks were performed to obtain effective adjectives concerning texture perception. The number of collected adjectives was originally 33. This number of adjectives was reduced to 14 by a suitability survey that asked whether an adjective is suitable for expressing a texture feeling. Finally after performing a semantic similarity evaluation, the number of adjectives was further reduced to ten and these ten were used in the main experiment. In the main experiment, selected sandpaper types and 15 selected combinations of frequencies and amplitudes of a tactile display were utilized to quantitatively evaluate the ten adjectives using a bipolar seven-point scale. The data show that a relationship exists between the independent variables(frequency, amplitude, and grit site) and the dependent variable(perceived texture). That is, the change of frequency and amplitude is directly related to perceived roughness or essential elements of human tactile sensitivity found in the preliminary experiment.

The Effects of Visual Rhythmic Stimulation in Gait and Proprioception with Chronic Stroke Patients (시각리듬자극이 만성뇌졸중 환자의 보행과 고유수용감각에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 만성 뇌졸중 환자를 대상으로 시각리듬자극(RVS)을 이용한 보행 운동을 적용하여 보행과 고유수용성감각에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 뇌졸중으로 6개월 이상 장애를 가진 21명이 연구에 참여하였고 실험군 10명과 대조군 11명으로 나누었다. 대조군은 14m의 보행로가 확보된 공간에서 준비운도 5분, 보행운동 20분, 정리운동 5분 씩 주 3회, 4주간 12회을 실시하였고, 실험군은 대조군의 운동프로그램과 같은 조건에서 보행운동시 시각리듬자극(RVS)을 추가적으로 적용하였다. 운동 전과 후에 보행과 고유수용성감각을 측정하여 효과를 비교하였다. 통계처리 방법으로 실험 전 후 차이를 검증하기 위하여 대응표본 t 검정을 실시하였고 대조군과의 차이 검증을 위하여 독립표본 t 검정을 실시하였다. 모든 통계적 유의수준은 0.05로 하였다. 본 연구의 결과 시각리듬자극(RVS)이 적용된 실험군에서 보행속도와 분속수, TUG 시간이 유의하게 증가하였고(p<.05), 고유수용성감각이 유의하게 증가하였다(p<.05). 결론적으로 시각리듬자극(RVS)을 이용한 보행운동이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 보행과 고유수용성감각에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 만성 뇌졸중 환자에게 음악적 요소인 시각리듬자극 (RVS)이 정신적 육체적 기능을 상실한 뇌졸중 환자의 재활치료 프로그램에 적용하는 연구가 필요할 것으로 기대되어진다.

  • 인간의 교수${\cdot}$학습은 본질적으로 뇌 기능과 많은 관련을 맺고 있기 때문에 뇌-기반 학습에서는 우리의 뇌가 최적으로 학습하는 방식에 기초해 접근을 시도한다. 지난 30년간의 뇌에 대한 연구는 교수${\cdot}$학습에 대해서 이용할 만한 많은 정보를 제시하고 있다. 많은 교육연구가들은 뇌 연구를 기초로 뇌가 최적으로 학습하는 뇌-친화적 환경을 도입하였고, Politano & Paquin(2000)은 현행교실에 실제로 이용 가능한 뇌-기반 환경을 창조하기 위한 기초로서 10가지 요소를 제시하면서 뇌-기반 학습에서 학습자는 자신에게 익숙한 학습감각을 가지고 있으며 그것을 통한 학습이 효과적임을 말하였다. 수학교육에서도 이와 같이 뇌-기반 학습을 배경으로 하는, 학습자의 학습감각을 고려한 교수${\cdot}$학습이 의미있다고 할 수있다. 본 연구에서는 뇌기반 학습의 의미를 고찰하고, 제 7차 교육과정이 실행되는 초등학교 4학년, 중학교 2학년, 고등학교 1학년에 교실에 대한 학습감각을 조사하였으며, 수학 교실에서 학습자의 학습감각을 고려한 수업활동을 제시하였다.

The System of Converting Muscular Sense into both Color and Sound based on the Synesthetic Perception (공감각인지 기반 근감각신호에서 색·음으로의 변환 시스템)

  • As a basic study on both engineering applications and representation methods of synesthesia, this paper aims at building basic system which converts a muscular sense into both visual and auditory elements. As for the building method, data of the muscular sense can be acquired through roll and pitch signals which are calculated from both three-axis acceleration sensor and the two-axis gyro sensor. The roll and pitch signals are then converted into both visual and auditory information as outputs. The roll signals are converted into both intensity elements of the HSI color model and octaves as one of auditory elements. In addition, the pitch signals are converted into both hue elements of the HSI color model and scales as another one of auditory elements. Each of the extracted elements of the HSI color model is converted into each of the three elements of the RGB color model respectively, so that the real-time output color signals can be obtained. Octaves and scales are also converted and synthesized into MIDI signals, so that the real-time sound signals can be obtained as anther one of output signals. In experiments, the results revealed that normal color and sound output signals were successfully obtained from roll and pitch values that represent muscular senses or physical movements, depending on the conversion relationship based on the similarity between color and sound.

The Effects of 4D-Frame Teaching upon Mathematically Gifted Elementary Students' Mathematical Creativity and Spatial Sense (4D 프레임 활용 학습이 초등 수학영재학생의 공간감각 및 수학적 창의성에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to develop a gifted educational program in math-gifted class in elementary school using recently developed 4D-frame. This study identified how this program impacted on spatial sense and mathematical creativity for mathematically gifted students. The investigation attempted to contribute to the developments for the gifted educational program. To achieve the aim, the study analysed the 5 and 6th graders' figure learning contents from a revised version of the 2007 national curriculum. According to this analysis, twelve learning sections were developed on the basis of 4D-frame in the math-gifted educational program. The results of the study is as follows. First, a learning program using 4D-frame for spatial sense from mathematically gifted elementary school students was statistically significant. A sub-factor of spatial visualization called mental rotation and sub-factors of spatial orientations such as sense of distance and sense of spatial perception were statistically significant. Second, the learning program that uses 4D-frame for mathematical creativity was statistically significant. The sub-factors of mathematical creativity such as fluency, flexibility and originality were all statistically significant. Third, the manipulation properties of 4D-frame helped to understand the characteristics of various solid figures. Through the math discussions in the class, participants' error correction was promoted. The advantage of 4D-frame including easier manipulation helped participants' originality for their own sculpture. In summary, this found that the learning program using 4D-frame attributed to improve the spatial sense and mathematical creativity for mathematically gifted students in elementary school. These results indicated that the writers' learning program will help to develop the programs for the gifted education program in the future.

  • 제품에 대한 소비자의 평가는 제품이 나타내는 전반적인 특성에 대하여 이루어지며, 이 과정에서 인간의 오감이 모두 작용한다. 최근 대두되기 시작하고 있는 다감각 디자인은 형태와 색상을 중심으로 한 시각 중심의 디자인에 시각분만 아니라 청각과 후각 등의 감각요소를 추가하려는 시도를 하고 있다. 제품 디자인에 다감각을 활용하기 위해서는 복합적인 감각자극과 인간의 감성 사이의 관계가 명확하게 이해되어야 하며, 복합자극 이전에 시각 이외의 단순 감각자극에 의한 감성 변화에 대한 이해가 선행되어야 한다. 본 연구는 음향자극에 대한 감성변화를 평가하는 것을 목적으로 하였으며, 선별된 30개 음향을 대상으로 6쌍의 감성어휘를 이용하여 평가한 결과, 음향이 피실험자의 감성에 변화를 발생시키는 것을 확인하였다. 감성의 변화는 음향의 물리적 속성 분만 아니라 사용자 자신의 개인적, 사회적, 문화적 요인에 의해 차이를 보였으며, 이 결과는 감성의 개인적 속성을 확인시켜 주었다.
