A comparative study on the 'Xuan'in the view of Yangxiong & Gehong(1) (양웅(揚雄)과 갈홍(葛洪)의 '현(玄)' 개념 비교 연구(1) - 우주생성론을 중심으로 -)

  • This paper aims to examine the meaning of 'Xuan(玄)' in the cosmogony, especially in the view of Yang-xiong(揚雄) and Ge-hong(葛洪). The concept 'Xuan' is thought to have originated in the XianQin text Laozi & Zhouyi. After the XianQin period, this concept has been defined as philosophical concept, and it has a variety of meanings. This paper discussed about the cause of creation, the differentiation process, and the existence principle, within the cosmogony of Yang-xiong & Ge-hong. First, the cause of creation in the Yang-xiong is efficient cause in the state of the elementary substance, but also is the principle that is applied to the phase of the creation. While the cause of creation in the Ge-hong is comprised of the cause of the creation and the existence principle. Thus, the meaning of the concept 'Xuan' in the both scholar is different from the matter monism. Second, the concept 'Xuan' in the both scholar contains the tendency of cosmogony and ontology. Yang-xiong maintains the cosmogony, but he also hold on the rudimentary view of ontology. While Ge-hong display a tendency of ontology. Third, Ge-hong accepted the view of Yang-xiong and he developed the meaning of the existence principle. And finally, the concept 'Xuan' in the both scholar forms a philosophical system. Yang-xiong insisted that the concept 'Xuan' is the basis of the universe, the human-being and the society. While through realizing the concept 'Xuan', Ge-hong tried to pursue the human-being's agelessness and the eternal life.

  • This paper aims to examine the meaning of 'Xuan(玄)' in the cosmology and astronomy, especially in the view of Yang-xiong(揚雄) and Ge-hong(葛洪). The cosmology of the ancient China has opened a discussion about the Tian(天), through the discussion about the celestial structure, the structure and the location relation of the heaven & earth, in the Han-dynasty has been found a systematic theory. But in the ancient Chinese philosophy, the cosmology has been developed in the field of the astronomy & the Oriental calendar. In this context, Yang-xiong(揚雄) and Ge-hong(葛洪) have founded the system of the cosmology, it is as in the following. First, Yang-xiong criticized sharply the theory of Gaitian(蓋天說) and advanced the theory of Huntian(渾天說). And Ge-hong support the theory of Huntian(渾天說) and also accepted the theory of Xuanye(宣夜說). Second, Yang-xiong(揚雄) and Ge-hong(葛洪)'s cosmology is regarded as the theoretical premise of their cosmogony. As the discussion about the celestial structure, the structure and the location relation of the heaven & earth, both scholar discussed about the cause of creation, the differentiation process. And in the this context, they founded the cosmology as the concept 'Xuan'. Third, the concept 'Xuan' in the both scholar forms a philosophical system. Yang-xiong insisted that the concept 'Xuan' is the basis of the universe, the human-being and the society. While through realizing the concept 'Xuan', Ge-hong tried to pursue the human-being's agelessness and the eternal life. In this way, their view point of the cosmology is comprised of cosmogony & astronomy. With this perspective, they are going to found the system of their own philosophy.

A study on the perspective of relationship between Confucianism and Taoism of Yuan-hong & Ge-hong (원굉(袁宏)과 갈홍(葛洪)의 유도(儒道)관계론 연구)

  • Confucianism and Taoism is the most representative schools in the Chinese philosophy. Through getting down to earth, they not only solved the social problem, but also accomplished a complete ideological system of their own philosophy. While examining closely the history of Chinese philosophy, some philosophers paid attention to the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism, and they will unite the different ideological system. Xuanxue(玄學) in the Wei-jin dynasty, typically, carried their research on the relationship between naturalness(自然) and Confucian ethical code(名敎). Against these theory, the scholars of Dongjin(東晋) dynasty tended to maintain the forming philosophical ideology of the relationship between naturalness(自然) and Confucian ethical code(名敎). Furthermore, they directly discussed the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism. This thesis is about a philosophical study of Yuan-hong and Ge-hong who was the typical scholar of the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism in the Donjin dynasty. Yuan-hong emphasized the utility and value of the Confucian ethical code, and he tried to find a basis of Confucian ethical code. Thus, he succeeded to the theory of the relationship between naturalness and Confucian ethical code, he at last advanced a new theory about the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism, which is called 'Taoist foundation Confucian utility(道本儒用)'. Ge-hong, from the point of view of the Taoist, accomplished the perspective on the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism, which is called 'Taoist foundation Confucian branch(道本儒末)'. Yuan-hong and Ge-hong, from the view of the relationship between foundation and utility & branch, advanced the new theory about the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism. In addition, we can correctly estimate their contribution to the development of the Chinese philosophy.

금궤, 금궤록과 중경금궤록의 관계에 대한 고찰

  • 북송(北宋)의 교정의서국(校正書局)에서는 치평(治平) 3년에 왕수(王洙)가 발견한 ${\ulcorner}$금궤옥함요약방(金玉函要略方)${\lrcorner}$을 다시 정리하여 장중경(張仲景)의 ${\ulcorner}$금궤방론(金方論)${\lrcorner}$이라는 이름으로 발간하면서, 그 서문 뒤에 ‘중경금궤록(仲景金)’이라고 언급하였는데, 필자는 역사적인 각도에서 금궤라는 명칭의 연원과 금궤 금궤록이 ${\ulcorner}$금궤방론(金方論)${\lrcorner}$서문 뒤에 언급된 ‘중경금궤록’와 어떤 관계가 있는가에 대하여 고찰하여 보았다. 금궤라는 명칭은 귀중한 서적이나 물품을 보관하던 장소를 지칭하는 말로 사용되었는데, 서명으로는 ${\ulcorner}$한서(漢書) 예문지(藝文志)${\lrcorner}$${\ulcorner}$감여금궤(堪輿金)${\lrcorner}$라는 명칭으로 최초로 등장하며, 의서로는 ${\ulcorner}$진서(晋書)${\lrcorner}$갈홍전(葛洪傳)에 ${\ulcorner}$금궤약방(金藥方)${\lrcorner}$이라는 서명으로 최초로 나온다. 현존하는 ${\ulcorner}$도장(道藏)${\lrcorner}$ 제(第)6부(部) 동현부(洞玄部) 옥결류(玉訣類)에 있는 ‘신선복이단석행약법(神仙服餌丹石行藥法)’의 일부분의 내용이 갈홍(葛洪)의 ${\ulcorner}$포박자(抱朴子)${\lrcorner}$와 서로 같고, 이것이 ${\ulcorner}$금궤록${\lrcorner}$일 가능성이 매우 높다. 손기(孫奇) 등 송(宋)의 신하가 ${\ulcorner}$금궤방론(金方論)${\lrcorner}$ 서문 뒤에 인용한 내용은 ${\ulcorner}$주후비급방${\lrcorner}$ 서문과 ${\ulcorner}$포박자내편(抱朴子內篇) 잡응(雜應)${\lrcorner}$의 내용과 서로 일치한다. 송(宋)의 신하가 인용한 서문은 갈홍(葛洪)이 쓴 것을 다시 인용하였을 가능성이 높고, 그 중에 ${\ulcorner}$금궤록${\lrcorner}$과 관련이 있는 내용은 장중경(張仲景)과는 아무 상관도 없다.

  • The main contents of Baopuzi inner chapters becomes the basis for the claim "to be achieved Xian the way people can be" named and Shenxian theory that is deployed in the center of the universe body theory with a focus on Xuan and YI and Tao and a problem of "demonstration of Shenxian exist", or ancient science that describes the Chinese alchemy and Taoism spell in other words, inner chapters are writing and how to get prescription way of Shenxian, of medicine to become a predecessors, elephant of some of the changes in the ghost apparition, the longevity, how to avoid the epidemic out of the evil. It aims to illuminate the entire look of Regimen ever appeared immediately in Inner chapters this paper.
