Methods: This was a descriptive study to develop strategies for promoting R&D in nursing by analyzing investment trends and status quo, policy directions, and implementation of the details of government supported R&D through government reports, websites of relevant agencies and literature reviews. Results: Few nursing experts participated in clinical research on overcoming major diseases and in R&D for well-being and care. Development of nursing topics that meet the direction of government supported R&D were lacking. Insufficient implementation of nursing service R&D in a timely manner equipped with a performance-based system. Few research studies in R&D projects that included research using big data or contributing to developing medical instruments. Finally, an insufficient number of nursing specialists participated on government R&D advisory committees. Conclusion: For nursing service R&D development efforts should be toward quantitative expansion and qualitative improvements by sensitively recognizing policy direction of government supported R&D. The promotional capacity of nursing service R&D must be reinforced through a multidisciplinary approach and collaborative association with other professionals and the inclusion of nurse specialists on government R&D advisory committees.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to suggest agenda priorities for nursing service R&D (Research and Development) related policies development. Methods: Two steps in developing the agendas and priorities were performed in this descriptive study. First, nursing service R&D agendas were extracted through needs assessment of nursing researchers and practitioners. Then, the priority of agendas was set by Analytic Hierarchy Process by ten experts who were representatives of nursing and other healthcare professionals. Results: Six core areas and forty-six nursing service R&D agendas were developed. The priority of agendas was different according to the evaluation criteria depending on weight value of nursing services. Conclusion: In order to select and promote nursing service R&D projects within national healthcare policy, nursing service R&D policy should be proposed with consideration to the importance of the criteria in reflecting characteristics of nursing care. By strengthening R&D capabilities for quality improvement and sensitive awareness of national directions for healthcare R&D policies, nursing service R&D can be appropriately promoted.

Purpose: This study was designed to develop Nursing Service Quality Indicators(NSQIs) in nursing homes that would lead to an appropriate evaluation and improvement of nursing service quality. Methods: The preliminary NSQIs were developed through literature reviews and analysis of existing quality indicators. A content validity testing was done twice by using a panel of experts who were from academia and the clinical areas. The final NSQIs were confirmed and applied in three nursing homes to test feasibility. Results: The preliminary NSQIs had 4 domains and 31 indicators. Two content validity testings were performed. The indicators scoring over.80 CVI for each testing were selected and modified by experts' opinions. The final NSQIs consisted of 7 domains and 33 indicators. They were applied in three nursing homes and it was revealed that all the indicators were applicable. Conclusion: In this study, it is shown that this new 'Nursing Service Quality Indicators in Nursing Homes' is suitable for a holistic evaluation of nursing service quality of elderly patients in nursing homes. This NSQIs will be able to provide a basis for establishing nursing care standards and improving the nursing care quality in nursing homes.
Purpose: This study was performed to investigate the relationship among reciprocity, emotional labor, nursing service quality and intent to leave, and to identify factors influencing nursing service quality and intent to leave. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional survey. Participants were 300 nurses working at five general hospitals in two provincial cities in Gyeongsang Province, Korea. From May 1 to June 30, 2014, data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS/PC ver 20.0 programs. Results: There were relationships between reciprocity and nursing service quality, and intent to leave, and between emotional labor and intent to leave. Participants' general characteristics, reciprocity and emotional labor explained 48.4% of variance in nursing service quality and participants' general characteristics and these two independent variables explained 31.9% of intent to leave. Conclusion: These findings indicate that from the perception of hospital nurses, reciprocity and emotional labor are both very important factors to improve the quality of nursing service and decrease the intent to leave. So nursing managers should try to develop various personnel management programs focused on human emotions, and create a mutual respectable organizational culture and work environment.
Purpose: This study was aimed to examine how subjects' characteristics and nursing service quality influence hospital revisiting intent, to compare perceptions of patients with those of nurses, Method: The questionnaire was developed and distributed to 300 patients and nurses at six general hospitals in a provincial city, Korea, For data analysis, the SPSS/PC program was used. Result: The nursing service quality's scores of patients is 3.61, that of nurses is 3.77, and there is a significant difference. The hospital revisiting intent's score of patients is 4.84, that of nurses is 4.61, and there are no significant differences. In subjects' characteristics, patients perceive that the hospital is the only different factor, and place hospital revisiting intent at $3.6\%$. Nurses perceive that education level and position are different factors, and place hospital revisiting intent at $3.3\%$. In nursing service quality, patients perceive that 2 attributes explain hospital revisiting intent at $17.8\%$ and 2 factors explain it at $16.5\%$; whereas, nurses perceive that 2 attributes explain hospital revisiting intent at $15.3\%$ and 3 factors explain it at $12.2\%$. Conclusion: There are perception gaps between consumers and providers. So nursing and hospital managers must recognize these facts and provide various marketing strategies to overcome them.
Purpose: This study was conducted to design services for improving the quality of care of hospitalized children with acute diseases. Conclusion: These findings indicate that nursing services should deliver familiarity and enjoyment to hospitalized children and their families. The findings of this study emphasize that the service design methodology can be used to improve the quality of care of hospitalized children with acute diseases.
Purpose : This study aimed to identify the moderating and mediating effects of resilience on the relationship between role conflict and job satisfaction among nurses working in a comprehensive nursing care service ward. Methods : Participants were 130 comprehensive nursing care service ward nurses from four hospitals. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis, using SPSS 25.0. The mediating effect of resilience on the relationship between role conflict and job satisfaction was analyzed using multiple regression analysis according to Baron and Kenny's procedure. Results : Statistically significant negative correlations were found between role conflict and resilience (r=-.25, p<.007) and between role conflict and job satisfaction (r=-.38, p<.001). A significant positive correlation was found between resilience and job satisfaction (r=.54, p<.001). A partial mediating effect of resilience was found between role conflict and job satisfaction (Z=-2.53, p=.012) but no moderating effect was found. Conclusion : To improve the job satisfaction of comprehensive nursing care service ward nurses, interventions for alleviating role conflict and improving resilience as well as evaluations of the two variables are necessary.
