The Impact of Visual Factors of Outdoor Signboards on Value Judgement - Focused Around the Signboards of Merrymaking Salons in 4 Areas of Busan - (옥외간판의 시각적 요소가 소비자 가치판단에 미치는 영향 -부산 4개 지역의 유흥업소 간판을 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims at investigating the influences exerted by the visual elements of outdoor signboard on consumers' capacity to make judgment on values. Therefore, it intends at studying the values displayed by signboards. As the phase one of the investigation, on-site study has been performed to photograph signboards of the entertainment and amusement business premises in 4 regions of Busan, thus to investigate and analysis the photographed data. For the second phase, survey was peformed on the basis of the analyzed data to select 15 signboards to be used in making judgement of values based on results of frequency measure per each category of geographical region, business type and three grades of the high, medium and low. In the third phase, survey was peformed on the items of value (A-G) to analyze consumer values. Finally, the fourth phase was carried out to compare and analyze the actual values of business premisses against that of the consumers. The result of study displayed that the effect exerted by visual elements of signboards on consumers is not of simple information provision, but is of essential factor to serve as the foundation of added values for business premises.

Signboard Replacement in Video clip (비디오 클립에서의 간판영역 교체 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a technique for smoothly replacing a signboard image in a video clip with another signboard image and an application for performing it. In order to replace the signboard area in the image, it must be tracked and the shape of the signboard changed. Also, when an obstruction occurs due to a front object, the obscured area is extracted so that only the signboard area can be replaced, and color correction is performed for natural synthesis. The proposed application receives the information required by the algorithm from the user and explains the required functions, thereby disclosing the entire process in which the algorithm is actually implemented and tested. This can be used for a variety of media, and can be used as a means to remove the indirect advertisement that is often seen, and it can also be used as a new advertisement model in which another advertisement image is inserted into the image to be advertised.

A Study on the Complex Color Analysis by Industry for Signboard Improvement Project - Focused on the Jongno-gil, Dongsang-dong, Gimhae-si - (간판개선사업을 위한 업종별 복합 색채 분석 연구 - 김해시 동상동 종로길을 중심으로 -)

  • This research was started to identify the color status of signboards at the target site and suggest the direction of improvement for the signboard project in Dongsang-dong, Jongno-gil, a central area of the old city center of Gimhae. The area under study forms a depressed street atmosphere with old facilities, and is a typical type of old city center sign that needs to be rebuilt. The purpose of this study is to investigate prior research related to signage and similar signboard improvement cases, and then to identify the current status of colors by sorting out the casting, auxiliary and highlighted colors through the survey of the color of the signboard in the target area, and to propose a desirable direction for the future sign business based on the basis of these findings. This paper divided the target sections by industry and conducted a color analysis of signboards. The results and contents of the research are as follows. First, cast-colored signboards in general businesses showed a variety of primary color distributions with high L* values, on average, with high intensity and high chromaticity. Second, the auxiliary colors were mostly white or black in color-free, making a contrast between the casting colors. Third, the highlight was that a* value showed a high distribution in positive water plus and was mainly distributed in obsolescence, such as red or yellow, and color was used to reflect the characteristics of each store. However, the stores in the entire section lack unity because they were using colors that were higher in color than middle colors, which was causing the street's aesthetic look to be undermined. Based on the results of these studies, it is thought that the future color scheme for Gimhae's signature improvement project will limit the number of colors to a certain extent and give a sense of security and visual comfort to the use of colorlessness and obscurity around the representative colors of Gimhae.

  • The street image in a business area is so much affected by Facade that the front side of a roadside building makes. Recently, for the indiscreet and intemperate advertising signboard of the front side of roadside buildings, a streetscape becomes more disordered than before, so now we need to do research about signboards of roadside buildings for a streetscape image. In this research, we focused on a streetscape with difference of occupation density of signboard in the business area via investigation and analysis about occupation density of signboards of the front side of roadside buildings, and we suggested optimum occupation density of signboards for supporting the road image positively. An object of research is the street in the business area that has many pedestrians and active passing zone of cars. We investigated and analyzed how to feel street images on the rate of occupation density of roadside building's signboards of in the chosen street. As a result of using an adjective that we use for estimating street view images for extraction of street images, we could know 2 factors. We named that one is the image of recognition, and the other is the image of feelings. We knew that signboard density of street of heavily recognized images is from 20% to 30% and, signboard density of street of heavily feeling images is from 50% to 60%. We also could know that people feel both images of recognition and images of feeling in specific density, 30 to 50%. Through this result of research, we can suggest Facade on signboard density with the recognition and the feeling and use images of the street view as materials to be more specific and more special.

The Energy-Efficient Automatic Power Controller of The Signboard using Illuminance Detector (조도 감지기를 이용한 절전형 간판 자동 전원 제어기)

  • In this paper, we propose energy-efficient automatic power controller which can power on and off the signboard at the specified light intensity using the Illuminance Detector. By using segmented section Classification algorithm, light intensity setup system propose variable resistor method which makes users more easy to control. Automatic light on-off system set a standard by measured illuminance data. Measured light-intensity through the Illuminance Detector are communicated with the signboard power controller with wireless communication, and it controls lighting system. In this paper, we evaluated the Energy-Efficient Automatic Power Controller of The Signboard using illuminance detector. Experimental results in lightless environment shows that the error rate is less than 3% by Accredited Testing Laboratories.

  • In the current so-called age of emotion marketing, the independent form of handwriting of calligraphy is being revitalized in various fields such as advertising, book designs, film titles, posters, packages, BI, and even fashion. Thus centered on Gyeyang-gu at the city of Incheon, 100 outdoors signs that used calligraphy were chosen and we researched a reform plan that could revitalize calligraphy in outdoor signs by classifying them according to current conditions of the use of calligraphy, actual conditions of practical use, expression tools, and analyzing the use of colors. The result was trial requests not only from the formalities industry, but also the financial sector, public corporations, and several other businesses, but in order to provide not only for franchise brand logotypes manufactured by expensive experts, but also provide production of high-quality calligraphy for low costs for small private enterprises, the development of a diverse calligraphy education program, centered on the regional society, will be needed. In the midst of globalization, in order to advertise the beauty of Korean alphabet and to create our own unique street culture, a variety of tools and tactile expressions are demanded, in the future the research on the calligraphy of outdoor signs must be revitalized.

  • 실내 측위 시스템은 실내 환경에서 위치 기반 서비스를 하는데 매우 유용하다. 그러나, Wi-fi 신호 등을 사용하는 일반적인 실내 측위 시스템들은 대부분 시스템의 설치와 유지 보수에 많은 비용이 소요된다. 마커를 기준으로 측위를 하는 영상 기반의 시스템도 있지만, 일반 사용자들에게 미적인 문제를 야기 시킬 수도 있다. 이 논문에서, 우리는 대부분의 공공장소에 이미 설치되어 있는 간판 등을 이용하는 새로운 영상 기반의 실내 측위 시스템을 소개한다. 간판의 위치와 방향은 그것들이 설치 될 때 해당 건물의 기준 좌표계에서 위치와 방향이 결정되기 때문에, 간판에 대한 사용자의 상대적인 위치와 방향을 얻어내면 건물의 기준 좌표계에서 사용자의 위치와 방향을 구할 수 있다. 실제 공공장소에서 수행 된 실험은 우리의 시스템이 실내 측위의 실용적인 방법이 될 수 있음을 보여준다.

  • 동적환경하에서의 JIT 생산 시스템의 운영에 관한 연구는 Terada, Kimura(1981), Bitran과 Chang(1985), Deleersnyder(1989), Mitra, Mitrani(1990) 그리고 Philipoom(1990)에 의한 분석적 모델의 발표로부터 시작하여 Terada와 Kimura(1981)의 다단계 연속 생산 시스템에서 간판 시스템에 대한 여러 가지 기본 공식의 제공, Bitan과 Chang(1985)에 다단계 스테이지의 조립생산 시스템에서 여러 가지 기본 공식과 해의 절차의 발표로 발전되어 왔다. 그 이후 Spearman 은 CONWIP을 이용한 간판 시스템의 변형된 형태를 연구ㆍ발표하였고(1990), Generic 간판 시스템에 대한 Chang과 YIH (1994)에 의해 연구되었다. Hybrid Push/Pull 시스템의 하나인 CONWIP 시스템은 현재까지 다른 시스템보다 정책면에서 동적인 기업환경에 적합한 것으로 평가받고 있다. 본 논문은 생산/제조 시스템의 운용에 대해 동적인 기업환경 하에서 고전적 kanban 시스템보다 우월하다고 입증된 CONWIP 시스템을 모형화하고 시스템 운영에 대한 실례를 들어 비선형 계획법의 하나인 내부점 알고리즘으로 수행, 해의 수렴과정을 고찰 기존의 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교 고찰하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, we implement the signboard voice guidance service for visually impaired person using virtual beacon. The new location to provide a location-based service can be added easily by using virtual beacons, which are locating by Wi-fi, GPS, and so on, instead of physical beacons, which are locating by physical devices. We provide the voice service for guiding information of the captured signboard for the visually impaired when he arrived at the location registered through the virtual beacon.

  • 문자 영역의 추출은 명함 등 문서의 정형화된 문자 인식, 비전 기반 감시 시스템에서의 간판, 부호 등의 자연영상에서의 문자 인식 등 다양한 분야에 활용될 수 있다. 우리가 관심을 갖는 문자는 간판이나 이름표 등 다른 이에게 정보를 전달해주는 기능을 하는 것으로 그 전배경의 구분이 명확하다. 이러한 특징은 히스토그램의 변화와 관련이 되어 있으며 본 논문에서는 그 변화를 분석함으로써 문자 영역 추출 방법을 제안한다.
