A Simple Multi-rate Parallel Interference Canceller for the IMT-2000 3GPP System (IMT-2000 3GPP 시스템을 위한 간단한 다중 전송률 병렬형 간섭제거기)

  • In this paper, we propose an effective but simple multi-rate parallel interference canceller(PIC) for the international mobile telecommunications-2000(IMT-2000) 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) system. For effective multi-rate processing, we define the basic block as one symbol period of the dedicated physical control channel(DPCCH) having the lowest data rate and common to all users. Then, decision and interference cancellation are performed at every basic block. For an asynchronous channel, we propose an advance removal scheme that removes in advance multiple access interference(MAI) due to the next blockof other users with shorter delay. Introducing a pipeline structure at a sample base, we can implement efficiently the PIC using the advance removal scheme with a minimum hardware and no extra computations. Through computer simulations, we analyze the bit error rate(BER) performance of the proposed PIC with respect to signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) and the number of users.

  • 본 논문은 CDMA 시스템을 근간으로 향후 서비스 될 3세대 이동통신 시스템에 선택적으로 적용될 수 있는 다중 사용자 간섭 제거 기법을 제안한다. 제안 방식은 다단계 간섭 제거기의 각 단계에 직교 다항식의 근사화 기법을 적용하여 제거될 간섭 신호의 양을 결정하고, 이를 상호 보완적으로 제거한다. 사용자 용량의 포화도에 따른 최적해로의 수렴성을 각 방식의 스펙트럼 반경의 분석을 통해 비교하였으며, 제안한 방식이 병렬 간섭 제거 기법(Parallel Interference Cancellation, PIC)을 사용한 방식과 비교하여 2배 이상의 적은 단계를 사용했음에도 거의 같은 정도의 오차 성능을 보였으며, 실험을 통해 비트 오율이 $10^{-5}$을 기준으로 약 30% 정도의 사용자 수용 능력이 증대되었다. 또한 전력 제어의 적용 여부에 대한 시스템의 비트 오율 측면의 성능 비교, 원근 효과의 관점에서 성능을 비교하여 제안된 간섭 제거 기법이 비적응형 가중치를 적용한 병렬 간섭 제거 기법보다 우수함을 보였다.

  • 적응 횡단 필터는 상관 전 처리 기법으로서 실시간 간섭 신호 제거가 가능한 시간 영역 신호처리 기법을 사용한다. 적응 횡단 필터는 협대역 간섭 신호에 좋은 성능을 나타내며, 구현이 용이하고 높은 효율성을 갖는다. 적응 횡단 필터의 구성은 입력 샘플 신호의 지연 탭을 위한 FIR 필터와 전파 간섭 신호의 크기와 주파수를 결정하는 가중치 생성부로 나눌 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 가중치 생성부에 적용 되는 알고리즘 중 상대적으로 연산량이 적은 LMS와 NLMS를 적용한 적응 횡단 필터를 설계하고, GPS 수신기에 적용 하였다. 실제 측정치를 이용한 다양한 실험에 의한 항법 성능 평가를 통하여 NLMS가 LMS보다 좋은 성능을 나타냄을 확인하였다.

  • Increasing throughput using high order data modulations in the WCDMA downlink requires the elimination of multipath interferences. For this reason, Kenichi Higuchi proposed a multipath interference canceller in WCDMA downlink. However, this paper considers the downlink signal models that only contains code channels for which code information is known to the receiver. WCDMA systems contain code channels for other active users whose code information is unknown to the receiver and these code channels degrade the performance of the multipath interference canceller. Thus, this paper proposes a multipath interference mitigation scheme which removes multipath interference induced by all the code channels within a cell. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms both the RAKE receiver and the multipath interference canceller in the WCDMA downlink.

Removal Method of Signal Interference between Ultrasound Sensors (초음파 센서 간 신호 간섭 제거 방법)

  • This paper proposes a removal method of signal interference between ultrasound sensors where ghost signals due to interference are excluded and correct signal is recognized in distance mensurement using ultrasound sensors. The proposed method detects and excludes ghost signals when previous measured distance is compared to current measured distance and the distance difference exceeds a threshold. The threshold is fixed in conventional methods, so ghost signals cannot be correctly excluded when ultrasound sensor or target object move rapidly. On the contrary, to improve accuracy, the threshold is not fixed in the proposed method, and the threshold is adpatively determined based on the relative velocity when ultrasound sensor or target object move. Experiments of distance measurement with ultrasound signal interference are carried out where multiple ultrasound sensors of same type are exploited with maximum interference, and the results show that the proposed method efficiently exclude ghost signals.

On Adaptive Narrowband Interference Cancellers for Direct-Sequence Spread-Spectrum Communication Systems (주파수대역 직접 확산 통신시스템에서 협대역 간섭 신호 제거를 위한 적응 간섭제거기에 관한 연구)

  • In wireless spread-spectrum communication systems utilizing PN (pseudo noise) sequences, a variety of noise sources from the channel affect the data reception performance. Among them, in this paper we are concerned with the narrowband interference that may arise from the use of the spectral bands overlapped by the existing narrowband users or the intentional jammers as in military communication. The effect of this interference can be reduced to some extent at the receiver with the PN demodulation by processing gain. It is known, however, that when the interferers are strong, the reduction cannot be sufficient and thereby requiring the extra use of narrowband interference cancellers (NIC's) at the receivers. A class of adaptive NIC's are studied here based on different two cost functions. One is the chip mean-squared error (MSE) computed prior to the PN demodulation and used in the conventional cancellers. Since thses conventional cancellers should be operated at the chip rate, the computational requirements are enormous. The other is the symbol MSE computed after the PN demodulation in which case the weights of the NIC's can be updated at a lot lower symbol rate. To compare the performance of these NIC's, we derive a common measure of performance, i.e., the symbol MSE after the PN demodulation. The analytical results are verified by computer simulation. As a result, it is shown that the cancellation capability of the symbol-rate NIC's are similar or better than the conventional one while the computational complexity can be reduced a lot.

  • This paper analyzes the impact of the satellite TWTA non-linearity charateristics for shared band transmission technology to improve spectral efficiency in satellite communication system. In shared band transmission technology for star network, a hub and terminals use same frequency band. In order to receive terminals's signal a hub have to remove the its own DVB-S2 carrier. In this paper the non-linearity impact of satellite TWTA is analyzed for self-interference cancellation.

  • In OFDM-based Full Duplex Relays (FDR) with Decode and Forward (DF) scheme, an interference cancellation technique in the frequency domain is more efficient than the one in the time domain. However, an Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) and Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI) may occur due to the timing mismatch between the feedback interference signal and the desired signal from Base Station (BS) when the feedback interference cancellation and demodulation are performed in the frequency domain. In this paper, the effects of timing mismatch on the synchronous type and asynchronous type of OFDM-based FDR are analyzed for uplink and downlink cases. Then, synchronization procedure and methods for reducing ISI and ICI in OFDM-based FDR with frequency-domain feedback interference canceller are proposed and verified by computer simulation.

Performance Comparison between Uplink Synchronous Transmission Scheme and Interference Cancellation Technique (역방향 동기식 전송방식과 간섭제거방식 성능 비교)

  • 본 논문에서는 IMT-2000 3GPP 규격 물리 채널에 따른 역방향 동기식 전송방식(USTS: Uplink Synchronous Transmission Scheme)의 성능을 다양한 채널 환경에 대하여 평가하였으며, 그 결과를 간섭제거 기술에 의한 간섭 제거 효과와 비교 평가하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 간섭제거 기법에서는 초기 결정값의 정확도에 따라 그 성능이 매우 크게 변화하는데 비하여 역방향 동기식 전송 방식은 안정된 성능을 나타내는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 매우 많은 사용자 환경에서는 역방향 동기식 전송 방식으로 제거되지 않은 간섭 성분들이 축적되어 그 성능이 열화되는 경향이 있는 반면, 간섭제거 기법에서는 초기 결정값의 정확도만 어느 정도 보장된다고 하면 간섭 신호를 효과적으로 제거할 수 있을 것으로 나타났다.

  • The techniques of intelligent interference cancellation are used for achieving the improvement of deterioration, which is arisen to the interoperable terminal(GSM and DVB-H). In this paper, we propose a novel system that improve the DVB-H received performance by using the method of an adaptive interference canceller for GSM900 and DVB-H terminal. The interference for the collocated GSM900 and DVB-H receiver is cancelled by using the adaptive canceller with the low-noise ADC(Analog to Digital Converter) in the RF stage.
