Ocular Complication and Dimension in Leprosy Patients (나환자의 눈합병증과 외부측정)

  • The measurement of the inter outer canthal distance(IOCD), inter inner canthal distance(IICD), width palpebral fissure (WPF) and distribution of cataract, corneal abnormality and palpebral abnormality-were followed in III Korean in leprosy patient. The average dimension of IOCD was in male 89.9 mm and in female 88.4 mm, IICD were in male 36.9 mm and female 35.8 mm, and LPF was in male 52.9 mm, female 52.6 mm. The IOCD and LPF were decreased but IICD was not 29.7%, palpebral abnormality was 19.4% and corneal abnormality was 37.8%. These data were not changed by sex but increased by age. So the causes of visual impairment int the disease were corneal abnormalities that were the most common complications.

  • 터널의 노면 양쪽에 관로를 설치하여 유입된 지하수를 배출시키는 방법은 일반적인 터널 배수공법이지만 배수관로의 설치를 위한 추가적인 굴착은 공사기간과 공사비의 상승으로 이어지는 실정이다. 이에 터널 내에 별도의 배수관로 굴착 없이 노면 하부에 다열기둥을 일정 간격으로 매설하여 지하수의 흐름방향을 노면 하부로 유도시키는 경제적인 배수시스템이 현재 연구 중이다. 이 터널배수시스템은 추가적 굴착이 없어 기존의 배수시스템보다 경제적이지만 다열기둥의 연속적인 배치를 필요로 하므로 기존의 관로배수방식보다 더 많은 유체의 흐름저항을 받게 된다. 따라서 유체의 흐름에 효율적인 다열기둥 간의 배치간격에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 노면 하부에 다열기둥이 매설된 터널 내로 유입하는 지하수 배출을 목적으로 다열기둥 간의 배치간격에 따른 Manning계수의 변화를 수리실험을 통해 측정 분석하였다. 특히 Manning계수는 개수로에서 유체흐름 저항의 정도를 파악하는 데 이용되는 인자로 이를 활용하여 지하수 배수에 적절한 다열기둥 배치간격을 산정하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 수리실험 자료는 노면하부에 다열기둥을 매설하는 터널공사의 실제 설계를 위한 기초적인 참고자료로 사용될 것으로 기대된다.

  • 오늘날 CT나 MR등을 통한 의학 영상 기술과 컴퓨터 성능의 향상으로 인체 내부 장기의 영상을 비교적 용이하게 얻을 수 있으며 얻어진 영상 정보는 컴퓨터로 수치화 되므로 데이터의 조작 및 가공이 용이하다. 그러나, 이렇게 얻어진 의학 영상들은 보통 2차원적 슬라이스 image 형태로 얻어진다. 일반적으로 슬라이스 사이의 간격은 조사량 등 여러 문제 때문에, 항상 동일한 간격을 유지하고 있지 않은 경우가 많으며 슬라이스 사이 간격이 슬라이스 내의 픽셀 간격보다 큰 경우가 대부분이다. 이러한 image로부터 3차원적 디스플레이나, 조작, 분석을 하기 위해서는 같은 간격의 image를 얻어야 한다. 이러한 이유로 인하여 보간(Interpolation) 기법이 의학 영상 분야에서 많이 사용된다. 본 논문은 명태-기반 보간 방법을 gray-scale image에 적용이 가능하도록 확장한 그레이 수준 형태 기반 보간 알고리즘을 구현하였다. 그리하여, 본 논문이 제안한 알고리즘을 슬라이스 간격이 큰 2차원 복부 CT 영상에 적용시켜 다른 보간법들보다 향상된 결과를 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 최근 이상홍수 및 하천정비 등으로 인해 갈수시 또는 홍수시 하천 모니터링을 위한 기초자료로 유량측정의 필요성이 부각되고 있다. 기존 유량측정 방법은 고비용과 다수의 측정인력이 필요하기 때문에 이를 개선하기 위하여 최근 전자장비를 이용한 비접촉식 유량측정에 대한 연구가 다수 진행 중에 있다. 이 중 간편하고 측정 정확도를 유지할 수 있는 표면영상유속계(SIV, Surface Image Velocimetry)에 대한 연구가 국내외에서 다양하게 이루어지고 있다. 표면영상유속계는 일정 시간 간격을 갖는 두 영상을 분석하여 유속을 계산하기 때문에 수표면이 움직이는 시간보다 두 영상 사이의 시간 간격을 길게 할 경우 잘못된 상관영역을 찾게 되어 유속 측정의 정확도를 떨어뜨릴 수 있다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해서 영상간의 시간간격 변화에 따른 표면영상유속계의 정확도 분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 영상간의 시간간격에 따른 표면영상유속계의 정확도 분석을 위해 현장에서 수면 요철이 발생하는 근경 영상을 이용하여 영상내의 수면 움직임의 최소 지속시간을 측정하였다. 측정 결과 대부분의 수면 요철은 0.1 ~ 0.2 초 내에서 발생하였다. 측정 결과 일반 캠코더를 이용하여 초당 최대 30장의 영상을 이용하여 하천 표면유속을 측정한다면 문제가 없을 것으로 판단된다.

  • Join operation exert a great effect on the performance of system in temporal database as in the relational database. Especially, as for the temporal join, the optimization of interval partition decides the performance of query processing. In this paper, to improve the efficiency of parallel join query in temporal database. I proposed Minimum Interval Partition(MIP) scheme that time interval partitioning. The validity of this MIP algorithm that decides minimum breakpoint of the partition is proved by example scenario and I confirmed improved efficiency as compared with existing partition algorithm.

  • 하천 내 설치하는 수제는 제방보호 및 유로변경의 목적으로 하천내 시공되는 구조물 중의 하나로서 하천복원과정에 있어 필수불가결한 구조물 중의 하나로 인식되고 있다. 수제는 대개 하나 이상의 일련의 군집형태로 수로 자체의 특성을 고려하여 설치가 되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 수제의 무분별한 설치는 주변 경관을 저해하거나 시공에 따른 비용 부담을 가중시키기 충분하다. 치수적 목적 이외에 경제적인 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 실험을 통해 수제의 적절한 간격을 제시하는 것이 필요하다. 수제간격을 제시하기 위한 기초자료를 얻기 위해 본 연구에서는 기존 연직 및 하향군수제 하상변동실험과 동일한 조건으로 상향수제($\theta=45^{\circ}$)를 대상으로 수제간격에 대한 이동상 실험을 수행 하여 수제주변 및 수제역 내에서 발생하는 하상변동특성을 검토하였으며, 기존자료와 비교하였다. 실험결과 흐름집중 증가로 인해 국부세굴이 크게 발생하고 있으며 세굴폭은 수제길이의 3배 지점까지 영향을 미치고 있었으며, 퇴적고는 설치간격이 증가할수록 높게 형성되고 있었다. 연직 및 하향수제자료와 비교한 결과 상향수제는 수제끝단부에서 발생하는 국부적인 세굴에는 불리하나 수제역내 퇴적에는 유리한 것으로 나타났다.

COMPARATIVE STUDY UPON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF WRITING BETWEEN THE PATIENTS WITH WRITING DISABILITIES AND NORMAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS (쓰기 장애 환자와 정상 초등학교 학생의 쓰기 특성 비교)

  • Characteristics of handwriting were investigated and compared between the patients with writing disabilities and normal elementary school pupils. Generally, the heights of the letters of the patients were significantly larger than those of normal children, and letters of the patients were more sparsely distributed than those of controls. The distance between the words were significantly reduced in the patients’ writings, which indicated that patients had much more problems of space-leaving than normal pupils. Letter heights differences were significant across all grades in the patients and normal controls. The heights of the letters decreased as they grew older, and the slope of the decrements were more steeper in normal girls(r=-0.45) than girls with writing disabilities(r=-0.16). Sex differences were found in the letter spacings in low grades(grades 1, 2), that is, the distances between the letters were significantly narrower in the male patients than normal boys in these grades, and the differences were almost indiscriminating in grades 3 through 5, and finally, in sixth grade, letter spacings were signifycantly broader in normal boys than male dysgraphics. In girls, letter spacings were significantly broader in the patients across all grades. These findings supports the hypothesis that male and female writings were qualitatively different and that distinct mechanisms served in boys and girls dysgraphics. Across all grades and sexes, spaces between the words of the patients were significantly broader than normal pupils, which suggested that space-leaving between the words was important in Korean writings. There was trend that letter spacings and word spacings decreased across grades, but in girls, no correlations between the letter spacings and grades were found. Correlation analyses revealed that letter heights and letter spacings had mild correlation(r=0.11-0.15), and that letter spacings and word spacings had robust correlation(r=0.99). Phonological errors were mostly found in last phoneme(Jong-seong), especially double-phoneme(ㄳ, ㄵ, ㄶ, ㄺ, ㄻ, ㄼ, ㄾ, ㄿ, ㅀ, ㅄ), and in the case the sound values changed due to assimilations of phonemes. Semantic errors were rare in both groups. Space-leaving errors were correlated with phonological errors, and more frequent in boys than girls. In conclusion, significant differences existed in the letter heights, letter spacings, word spacings, and frequencies of phonological errors and spaceleaving errors between the patients with writing disabilities and normal pupils. The characteristics of writings changed across grades and the developmental profiles were somewhat quantitatively different between the groups. The differences became obvious from the second-third grades.

Evaluation for Rock Cleavage Using Distribution of Microcrack Spacings (IV) (미세균열의 간격 분포를 이용한 결의 평가(IV))

  • Jurassic granite from Geochang was analysed with respect to the characteristics of the rock cleavage. The multicriteria evaluation for the six directions of rock cleavages was performed using the microcrack spacing-related parameters derived from the enlarged photomicrographs (${\times}6.7$) of the thin section and the spacing-cumulative frequency diagrams. The results of analysis for the representative values of these spacing parameters with respect to the rock cleavage are summarized as follows. First, the analysis for deriving the main parameter indicating the order of arrangement among six diagrams was performed. The values of five parameters with respect to six directions of the rock cleavages were arranged in increasing or decreasing order for the above analysis. The decreasing order of the values of main parameter(mean spacing-median spacing, $S_{mean}-S_{median}$) and mean spacing are consistent with the order of H1, H2, G1, G2, R1 and R2 directions. These sequential arrangements of six directions of the rock cleavages can provide a basis for those of the six diagrams related to spacing. Second, the nine correlation charts between the above main parameter and various parameters were arranged in decreasing order of correlation coefficient ($R^2$). These related charts shows a high correlation of power-law function in common. The values of mean spacing, density (${\rho}$) and length of line oa are directly proportional to the value of main parameter, while the values of constant (a), exponent (${\lambda}$), spacing frequency (N), length of line oa', slope of exponential straight line (${\theta}$) and total length ($1mm{\geq}$) are inverse proportional. Third, the results of correlation analysis between the values of parameters for three planes and those for three rock cleavages are as follows. The values of frequency, total spacing, constant, exponent, slope and length of line oa' for three planes and three rock cleavages show an order of R' < G' < H' and H < G < R, respectively. On the other hand, the values of mean spacing, (mean spacing-median spacing), density and length of line oa show an order of H' < G' < R' and R < G < H, respectively. The correlation of the mutually reverse order of the values of parameters between three planes and three rock cleavages can be drawn. This type of correlation analysis is useful for discriminating three quarrying planes.

Development of Mechanistic-empirical Joint Spacing Design Method for Concrete Pavements (역학적-경험적 콘크리트 포장 줄눈간격 설계방법 개발)

  • Tensile stress occurs and random crack develops in concrete pavement slab when it contracts by variation of temperature and humidity. The tensile stress decreases and the random crack is minimized by sawcutting the slab and inducing the crack with regular spacing. The random crack, joint damage, decrease of load transfer efficiency are caused by too wide joint spacing while too narrow joint spacing leads to increase of construction cost and decrease of comfort. A mechanistic-empirical joint spacing design method for the concrete pavement was developed in this study. Structurally and environmentally weakest sections were found among the sections showing good performance, and design strengths were determined by finite element analysis on the sections. The joint width for which the load transfer efficiency is suddenly lowered was determined as allowable joint with referring to existing research results. The maximum joint spacing for which the maximum tensile stress calculated by the finite element analysis did not exceed the design strength were found. And the maximum joint width expected by the maximum joint spacing were compared to the allowable joint width. The new method developed in this study was applied to two zones of Hamyang-Woolsan Expressway being designed. The same joint spacing as a test section constructed by 8.0m of joint spacing wider than usual was calculated by the design method. Very low cracking measured at 6 years after opening of the test section verified the design method developed in this study.

Methodology for Determining RSE Spacing for Vehicle-Infrastructure Integration(VII) Based Traffic Information System (Focused on Uninterrupted Traffic Flow) (차량-인프라 연계(VII) 기반 교통정보시스템의 RSE 설치간격 결정 방법론 (연속류를 중심으로))

  • A variety of research efforts, using advanced wireless communication technologies, have been made to develop more reliable traffic information system. This study presents a novel decentralized traffic information system based on vehicle infrastructure integration (VII). A major objective of this study was also to devise a methodology for determining appropriate spacing of roadside equipment (RSE) to fully exploit the benefits of the proposed VII-based traffic information system. Evaluation of travel time estimation accuracy was conducted with various RSE spacings and the market penetration rates of equipped vehicle. A microscopic traffic simulator, VISSIM, was used to obtain individual vehicle travel information for the evaluation. In addition, the ANOVA tests were conducted to draw statistically significant results of simulation analyses in determining the RSE spacing. It is expected that the proposed methodology will be a valuable precursor to implementing capability-enhanced next generation traffic information systems under the forthcoming ubiquitous transportation environment.
