The Effect of Message Framing on Personal Relevance and Social Value Orientation - Focusing on Privatization - (개인 관련성과 사회적 가치 지향성이 광고 메시지 프레이밍에 미치는 효과 - 공기업 민영화를 중심으로 -)

  • This research presented the privatization of pubic corporations in terms of communication dimension rather than political and ideological dimension. Concretely, we examined how the message framing of privatization affects consumer's advertising attitude. At the same time, this study also examined the moderating factors which make a difference of the message framing, such as personal relevance(high/low) and social value orientation(proself/prosocial). The results showed that the interaction effect between type of message framing and personal relevance. Positive message framing showed a higher effect than negative message in the case of low personal relevance. Also, There was the interaction effect between type of message framing and social value orientation. Positive message framing showed a higher effect than negative message in the case of proself. However, there was no difference in message framing effect when there was high personal relevance and prosocial. Lastly, the implications of this study was presented. First, this study expanded the scope of research related to message framing. Second, the use of moderating variables such as personal relevance and social value orientation increased the possibility of practical application. In addition, limitation and further study directions was discussed.

  • This study aims to explore and understand better how consumers' value orientation relates to consumer's intention to use and Word-of-Mouth behaviors in using Web sites. Consumers have perceptions of the shopping value they acquire during their experiences in navigating Web sites. This consumer's shopping value is considered as utilitarian shopping value, information shopping value, and hedonic shopping value. The current paper proposes that value orientation of consumers in Web sites would consequently affect consumer attitude such as intention to use and Word-of-Mouth. In addition, the research investigates the moderating effect of consumer's personality between consumer's shopping value and consumers' attitude in Web sites. For testing the hypothesized research model, survey and Lisrel analysis are conducted. The findings emphasize that online providers need to focus on the perceived values most salient to consumers in order to improve their profitability. Furthermore, providers may also identify the reason why consumers perceive these values much lower when using the Web sites.

Exploring Determinants of Smartwatch Diffusion Using a Value Adoption Model (가치수용 모델을 활용한 스마트워치 확산 결정요인 분석)

  • Contrary to predictions, the market diffusion of smartwatch is proceeding slowly. Smartwatch companies should pursue new strategies to overcome this so-called chasm; however, little is known about smartwatch attributes valuable for target consumers. This study investigates beneficial and sacrificial features influencing overall perceived value of smartwatch, which in turn affects usage intention, and considers moderating effect of personal innovativeness. A total of 323 usable data were analysed using partial least squares. The results show that two benefits (utilitarian and hedonic) and three sacrifices (usability, performance, and finance) significantly impact on usage intention via perceived value. A significant effect of personal innovativeness as a moderator is also observed. Interestingly, the influence of social benefits on perceived value is not supported, which means strengthening image improvement strategies might not be appropriate for the diffusion. In order to overcome the chasm, suitable strategies should be used, and focusing on consumers who are highly innovative are strongly recommended.

  • Previous findings on Organizational Citizenship Behaviors is a useful index for effectiveness of the organization. Also, it is a factor that explains the relation between its member's attitude and behavior as organizational commitment had been stabilized. Since autonomy and rapidity has become more important in increasing the efficiency of the organization, this means Organizational Citizenship Behaviors has become important in it. Organizational Citizenship Behaviors of the members occurs only when discretion and autonomy are given to its members. Therefore, this study aimed at measuring the effects of police officer's personal dispositions on organizational citizenship behaviors, exploring the moderation effect of organization culture, and providing the basis with implications to promote the Organizational Citizenship Behaviors in the police Organization. By reviewing previous finding, Police Officer's Personal Dispositions were selected as independent variables, Organizational Citizenship Behaviors was selected as dependent variable. and Organizational Culture was selected as moderation variable. The result of analysis showed that The belief & The Norm influenced in Organizational Citizenship Behaviors(positive), and The Value in Organizational Citizenship Behaviors(negative). The Effect of Regulatory Focus on Estimating Value of Unfamiliar Currency Owned by Self or Others (나-타인 소유의 낯선 화폐 가치 추정에 조절초점이 미치는 영향)

  • Because of self-enhancement motives, when involved in social comparison, many people generally value things that are related to themselves, with the representative example being possessions, which is known as the endowment (ownership) effect. However, there are times when someone else's possessions appear to be better than our own, even if they are the same things, which is known as the endowment effect reversal. The purpose of this study was to explore the moderating variable that regulates the endowment effect and the endowment effect reversal by confirming whether the value estimation of others' belongings differed through a regulatory focus as it was surmised that the regulatory focus would moderate the endowment effect of the self versus the others' ownership. Foreign participants were shown the currency of a country they were unfamiliar with and asked to estimate the value in their home country currency. It was found that when people thought the money was their own, people with a promotion focus estimated the value to be higher than people with a prevention focus. However, when they thought it was someone else's money, the regulatory focus moderating effect was not found to be significant, which suggested that the endowment effect may be strengthened or eliminated depending on the individual's regulatory focus. Based on these study results, the implications, limitations, and suggestions for follow-up studies are discussed.

  • 1990년대 이후 인터넷을 비롯한 각종 기술의 발달로 TV 홈쇼핑, 인터넷 쇼핑, 카탈로그 쇼핑, 모바일 쇼핑 등과 같은 새로운 소매업태가 등장함에 따라 각기 다른 소매업태, 즉 각기 다른 쇼핑 환경들이 어떻게 소비자의 가치지각에 영향을 미치는 가에 대한 연구가 필요성이 제기되었다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 인지 심리학의 한 이론인 인지 연속성 이론의 동태적 과업시스템을 소비자의 쇼핑 행동에 적용하였다. 즉 소비자의 쇼핑 경험을 소비자와 쇼핑 환경이 상호작용하는 동태적 과업으로 간주하였으며 이에 따른 가치지각을 연구하고자 한 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 본 연구에서는 동태적 쇼핑 경험의 구성요소로서 내ㆍ외면적 특성인 소비자의 쇼핑성향과 쇼핑 환경을 정의하였으며 소비자의 경험가치에 있어서는 Holbrook의 경험가치 척도를 적용하여 소비자의 동태적 쇼핑경험이 쇼핑가치지각에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 적용한 경험가치척도는 경제적 가치, 효율성, 내면적 즐거움, 현실도피성과 같은 추구 가치와, 시각적 매력, 엔터테인먼트 가치, 서비스 우수성과 같은 수동적 가치로 구분되며 실증분석 결과 이러한 경험가치들은 각각 동태적 쇼핑 경험의 내ㆍ외면적 특성에 따라 서로 다른 영향을 받는 것이 검증되었다.

The Impact on the Korea Characteristic influence on the Attitude of Luxury Product : focus on Strategic Implication in Luxury Ad (한국인의 우쭐과 체면성향이 명품 제품태도에 미치는 영향 : 명품광고 제작시사점을 중심으로)

  • This paper attempts to find out the psychological characteristic factors of Korean consumers, and to identify how they influence consumers' attitudes toward the products for the world famous brands. The related literature refers face-consciousness trait, boast trait and ritualism trait to the main research objectives of this research. As results, 3 underlying factors are found to underly the 'Chemyon(social face)', 6 factors to 'Uzzul(Boasting)'. Multiple regression analysis reports that 'Uzzul(Boasting)' trait has a significant influence over the consumer's attitudes toward the product for the famous brands, and Chemyon(social face) trait has the same effects as well though with less statistical weight. The paper's findings suggests academically that we need more serious research endeavor to understand consumption propensities that are salient to Korean consumers. And, they also imply that advertising creative director would implement the knowledge in developing creative strategy for brand advertising.

  • 배당정책결정(配當政策決定) 설명 이른들 중에는 배당신호가설(配當信號假說)과 배당대리인비용가설(配當代理人費用假說)이 있다. 본 연구는 대리인비용(代理人費用)이 배당성향과 배당조정계수속도에 미치는 영향을 대리인비용의 대용치인 내부자소유구조(內部者所有構造)와의 관계분석을 통해 고찰(考察)해 봄으로써 두 가설(假說)에 대한 검증을 시도하였다. Value Line Investment Survey에 수록된 기업들 중 일정기준들을 만족시키는 238개 표준기업들을 대상으로 Lintner모델의 배당성향 및 배당조정계수속도가 내부자소유구조의 일차함수(一次函數)라는 가정하에 Lintner모델에 대하여 시계열/비선형 횡단면 회귀분석(回歸分析)을 행하였다. 분석 결과는 배당성향, 배당조정계수, 모두 1%의 유의수준(有意水準)에서 내부자소유구조와 유의적인 부(負)의 관계를 나타내고 있다. 이것은 내부자소유구조가 큰 기업일수록 다른 조건이 동일 하다면 내부자에 대한 배당가치가 적어지기 때문인 것으로 풀이된다.

The Relationship between Shopping Value and Clothing Shopping Orientation according to Clothing Involvement (의복관여도에 따른 쇼핑가치와 의복쇼핑성향의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between shopping value and clothing shopping orientation according to clothing involvement. The study subjdects comprised 298 females living in Seoul. The data were analyzed with factor analysis, correlation, t-test, cluster analysis and regression analysis. Clothing involvement, shopping value and clothing shopping orientation consisted of various factors. Clothing involvement influenced various shopping values and orientations. According to three clothing involvement factors, women were classified into two clusters(: high and low involvement groups). In the two groups, there was an intimate relationship between shopping value and shopping orientation, while there were significant differences in shopping value, clothing shopping orientation, and clothing purchasing behavior. In addition, shopping value have influenced shopping orientations and clothing purchasing behavior, while shopping orientations influenced clothing purchasing behavior. As a result, the successful marketer should know the consumer's clothing involvement and shopping value as well as clothing shopping orientation.
