Weighted L1-Norm Support Vector Machine for the Classification of Highly Imbalanced Data (불균형 자료의 분류분석을 위한 가중 L1-norm SVM)

  • The support vector machine has been successfully applied to various classification areas due to its flexibility and a high level of classification accuracy. However, when analyzing imbalanced data with uneven class sizes, the classification accuracy of SVM may drop significantly in predicting minority class because the SVM classifiers are undesirably biased toward the majority class. The weighted $L_2$-norm SVM was developed for the analysis of imbalanced data; however, it cannot identify irrelevant input variables due to the characteristics of the ridge penalty. Therefore, we propose the weighted $L_1$-norm SVM, which uses lasso penalty to select important input variables and weights to differentiate the misclassification of data points between classes. We demonstrate the satisfactory performance of the proposed method through simulation studies and a real data analysis.

  • The governing equation of flow in porous media is developed on the bases of the continuity equation of fluid for transient flow through a saturated-unsaturated zone, and substitution of Darcy's law. The numerical solutions are obtained by finite element method based on the Galerkin principles weighted residuals. The analysis are carried out by using the unsteady storm data observed and rainfall intensities which are obtained by using the rainfall excess model in considering of the initial losses. The functional relationships between the hydraulic conductivity, capillary pressure head and volumetric water content are applied to the flow of water through unsaturated soil varied with changes of water content.

DCB 적용 한반도 전리층 격자 모델 개발

  • 이 연구에서는 한반도 상공의 전리층 총전자수를 격자 형태로 나타냈다. 이를 위해 국토해양부 GPS 상시관측소에서 제공 중인 코드와 위상 측정값을 선형조합하였으며 그 결과물을 이용하여 시선방향 총전자수를 산출하였다. 이때 전리층 총전자수 산출결과의 정확도를 향상시키기 위해 가중최소자승법을 이용하여 위성과 수신기의 하드웨어 오차인 DCB(Differencial Code Bias)를 추정하였으며 추정된 DCB값은 IGS에서 제공 중인 DCB값과 비교하여 정확도를 확인하였다. 산출된 시선방향 총전자수를 연직방향 총전자수로 변환하기 위해 사상함수를 적용하였으며, 이를 다시 각 격자점에서의 연직방향 총전자수로 변환하기 위해 기존 연직방향 총전자수에 역거리 가중 보간법을 적용하였다. 각 격자점에서의 총전자수는 IGS(International GNSS Service)에서 제공 중인 GIM(Global Ionosphere Map) 모델의 총전자수와 비교하여 정확도를 확인하였다. 산출된 총전자수는 2시간 간격으로 나타내어 한반도 상공 전리층 총전자수의 변화 경향을 확인하였다.

물가지수의 가중치 추정모형: 물가지수체계의 연관분석적 평가법(속)

  • 현행 일반적으로 쓰여지고 있는 물가지수 산식은 기준시점의 거래량(또는 거래금액)을 상품별 가중치(weight)로 삼는 가중총합방식(weighted aggregate formula, 또는 가중산술평균산식)으로서의 Laspeyres식이라 함은 주지하는 바와 같다. 그것이 상품별로 유통면의 중요성을 분명히 감안하여 있고, 비교시점의 가격변동만이 계산에 반영된다는 점에 있어서 물가지수로서의 실용성이 널리 인정되어 있는 산식이다. 그러나 Lasperyres식의 난점을 또한 많은 것이니 그 가운데 특히 가중치의 고정성과 관련하여 기준시점의 이동에 따른 전후 물가지수의 비연결성은 결정적 결함이라 할 수 있다. 여기에 이 식의 지수적 허구성이 흔히 논의되고, 이른바 Paasche check라 하여 수시로 조사한 거래량(또는 거래금액)에 의하여 물가지수의 가중치로 삼아서 전자를 검정하는 방법도 쓰여지는 형편이다. 필지는 일찌기(1973년) Laspeyres식의 상품별 가중치에 관한 객관적 평가법의 하나로서 산업(따라서 상품)의 연관분석적 수단에 의한 약간의 시안을 발표한 바 없지 않았다. 그것은 요약컨대 산업연관분석에 쓰이는 투입계수표를 중심삼아 한 상품가격이 다른 상품가격에 미치는 파급효과, 따라서 물가에 미치는 파급력을 계산하고, 나아가서 각 상품의 수요 및 공급함수를 도입하여 그들 계수를 추정함으로써 가중치의 객관화를 꾀해 본 것이 전고의 골자이다.

Material Decomposition through Weighted Image Subtraction in Dual-energy Spectral Mammography with an Energy-resolved Photon-counting Detector using Monte Carlo Simulation (몬테카를로 시뮬레이션을 이용한 광자계수검출기 기반 이중에너지 스펙트럼 유방촬영에서 가중 영상 감산법을 통한 물질분리)

  • Mammography is commonly used for screening early breast cancer. However, mammographic images, which depend on the physical properties of breast components, are limited to provide information about whether a lesion is malignant or benign. Although a dual-energy subtraction technique decomposes a certain material from a mixture, it increases radiation dose and degrades the accuracy of material decomposition. In this study, we simulated a breast phantom using attenuation characteristics, and we proposed a technique to enable the accurate material decomposition by applying weighting factors for the dual-energy mammography based on a photon-counting detector using a Monte Carlo simulation tool. We also evaluated the contrast and noise of simulated breast images for validating the proposed technique. As a result, the contrast for a malignant tumor in the dual-energy weighted subtraction technique was 0.98 and 1.06 times similar than those in the general mammography and dual-energy subtraction techniques, respectively. However the contrast between malignant and benign tumors dramatically increased 13.54 times due to the low contrast of a benign tumor. Therefore, the proposed technique can increase the material decomposition accuracy for malignant tumor and improve the diagnostic accuracy of mammography.

Response Variability of Laminated Composite Plates with Random Elastic Modulus (탄성계수의 불확실성에 의한 복합적층판 구조의 응답변화도)

  • In this study, we suggest a stochastic finite element scheme for the probabilistic analysis of the composite laminated plates, which have been applied to variety of mechanical structures due to their high strength to weight ratios. The applied concept in the formulation is the weighted integral method, which has been shown to give the most accurate results among others. We take into account the elastic modulus and in-plane shear modulus as random. For individual random parameters, independent stochastic field functions are assumed, and the effect of these random parameters on the response are estimated based on the exponentially varying auto- and cross-correlation functions. Based on example analyses, we suggest that composite plates show a less coefficient of variation than plates of isotropic and orthotropic materials. For the validation of the proposed scheme, Monte Carlo analysis is also performed, and the results are compared with each other.

A comparison on coefficient estimation methods in single index models (단일지표모형에서 계수 추정방법의 비교)

  • It is well known that the asymptotic convergence rates of nonparametric regression estimator gets worse as the dimension of covariates gets larger. One possible way to overcome this problem is reducing the dimension of covariates by using single index models. Two coefficient estimation methods in single index models are introduced. One is semiparametric least square estimation method, which tries to find approximate solution by using iterative computation. The other one is weighted average derivative estimation method, which is non-iterative method. Both of these methods offer the parametric convergence rate to normal distribution. However, practical comparison of these two methods has not been done yet. In this article, we compare these methods by examining the variances of estimators in various models.

  • 하천에서 종, 횡방향이 고려된 확산-이송 현상을 수치기법인 유한요소법을 이용하여 2차원으로 해석하였다. 유한요소법으로는 Galerkin의 가중잔차 방법을 수십에 대해 적분을 취한 연속, 운동량 및 확산-이송방정식에 적용하였고, 선형보간함수와 선형삼각형요소가 이용되었다. 모형의 타당성을 입증하기 위해 단순화된 1차원 수로에서 수차례 검정한 결과 정확해와 거의 일치하는 만족할만한 결과가 도출되었다. 개발된 모형의 실험이 2차원수로에서 행하여져 지류의 유입에 따른 확산-이송현상이 모의되었으며, 실험적용은 개발사업후의 한강본류 9km 구간에 적용되어 탄천과 중량천의 지천 영향을 받는 오염 농도가 2차원적으로 도시되었다.

Treatment of Essential Boundary Conditions using Modified Weight Functions in Meshless Method (무요소법에서 가중함수를 수정한 필수경계조건 처리법)

  • In meshless methods some techniques to impose essential boundary conditions have been developed since the approximations do not satisfy Kronecker delta properties at nodal points. In this study, new scheme for imposing essential boundary conditions is developed. Weight functions are modified by multiplying with auxiliary weight functions and the resulting shape functions satisfy Kronecker delta property on the bound ary nodes. In addition, the resulting shape functions possess and interpolation features on the boundary segments where essential boundary conditions are prescribed. Therefore the essential boundary conditions can be exactly satisfied with the new method. More importantly, the impositions of essential boundary conditions using the present method is relatively easy as in finite element method. Numerical examples show that the method also retains high convergence rate comparable to Lagrange multiplier method.

Speech enhancement system using the multi-band coherence function and spectral subtraction method (다중 주파수 밴드 간섭함수와 스펙트럼 차감법을 이용한 음성 향상 시스템)

  • This paper proposes a speech enhancement method through the process of combining the gain function with spectrum subtraction method in the two microphone array with close spacing. A speech enhancement method that uses a gain function estimated by the SNR (Signal-to Noise Ratio) based on the multi frequency band coherence function causes the performance degradation in high correlation between input noises of two channels. A new speech enhancement method is proposed where the weighted gain function is used by combining the gain function from the spectral subtraction. The performance evaluation of the proposed method was shown by comparison with PESQ (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality) value which is an objective quality evaluation test provided by the ITU-T (International Telecommunications Union Telecommunication). In the PESQ tests, the maximum 0.217 of PESQ value is improved in the various background noise environments.
