This study focused on the relationship of social skills and social support from family and friends to adjustment between children and adolescents. Subjects were enrolled in the fifth, sixth, 1st, & 2nd grades of elementary and junior high schools. The instruments were Teenage Inventory of Social Skills, Perceived Social Support from Family & Friends, Child Depression Inventory, and Antisocial Behavior Scale. Results indicated that there were positive relations between social skills and social support from family and friends. The more social support from family children and adolescents had, the less depression and antisocial behavior they reported. For depression, children and adolescents showed a significant sex difference. In the case of antisocial behavior, only adolescents revealed a significant sex difference. Depression was explained by social support from family most for both children and adolescents. Antisocial behavior was explained by social skills most especially for children. The results discussed in the context of the effects of social skills and social support on emotional and behavioral adjustments.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between stigma, family support, and quality of life in tuberculosis patients. Methods: The participants were 122 who completed a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA. Results: The score of stigma I(community perspectives) was $18.67{\pm}7.48$ and the score of stigma II(patients perspectives) was $14.84{\pm}6.93$. The score of those with family support was $30.81{\pm}4.16$. The score of QOL was $102.22{\pm}13.72$. The findings showed significant positive relationships between stigma I and stigma II and between family support and QOL(r = .753, p < .001; r = .314, p < .001, respectively) and negative relationship between stigma II and QOL(r = -.250, p = .005). Conclusion: Further studies are needed to develop and evaluate the nursing interventions to support patients with tuberculosis, reducing their level of stigma and improving their quality of life.
This study aimed to explore the effects of perceived family stress, supportive resources, intentional rumination, and coping behaviors on posttraumatic growth of cancer survivors based on the Double ABCX Family Stress Model. Data were collected from 200 cancer survivors currently living with their spouses and analyzed by path analysis using AMOS program. The results of this study were as follows. First, perceived family stress of cancer survivors had direct effects on supportive resources, intentional rumination, and coping behaviors, and had indirect effects on posttraumatic growth mediated by supportive resources, intentional rumination, and coping behaviors. Second, supportive resources, intentional rumination, and coping behaviors had direct effects on posttraumatic growth. Third, supportive resources and intentional rumination had direct effects on coping behaviors and had an indirect effect on posttraumatic growth mediated by coping behaviors. The current study supported the applicability of the Double ABCX Family Stress Model to the posttraumatic growth process of cancer survivors.
The purpose of this study was to explore family perception of adolescence through the Kinetic Family Drawing (KFD), and to explore its relation with the family system. The Kinetic Family Drawing (KFD) and Family System Diagnosis Scale (FSDS) were administered to 356 adolescent children. Data were analyzed using the regression analysis and the discriminant analysis. The results were as follows: First, there was a significant difference among the KFD family adaptability variables of boys' KFD and the flexibility and rigidity variables of the FSDS in the family relationship. For example, That is; for sons', it means that if there is a greater the satisfaction for their family in their drawings, then the family relationship will be more flexible. Especially with the son's KFD, there was an indication that if there is a greater the activity level of the self, then he has more flexibility in his family relationship. Second, there is a significant difference in the relationship between the KFD family hierarchy variables of girls' KFD and the parent coalition·cross-generational triads variable of the FSDS. For girls 'KFD, the result of this study indicated that when there is a greater the distance between the father figure and the child figure, the cross-generational triads we greater.

Research has emphasized that relationship marketing programs enhance customer satisfaction and reduce switching intentions by building switching barriers. However, the psychological reactance theory demonstrates that building switching barriers can make customers fsel that the alternative not chosen is more attractive, because their freedom of choice has been deprived. It can be hypothesized that a relationship marketing program, which is intended to offer various benefits to customers, may not result in positive customer attitude and behavior. This paper examines the effects of relationship marketing programs on customers' perceptions of switching cost and loss of freedom. The effects of those perceptions on customer satisfaction and switching intentions were identified. In addition, the moderating role of personal reactance was examined. The results of this study suggest that (1) perceived switching cost has significant influence on boosting perceived loss of freedom; (2) perceived loss of freedom has no significant effects on customer satisfaction; (3) perceived loss of freedom enhances customers' switching intentions. Furthermore, psychological reactance has a significant influence on customers' switching intentions. This study concludes that the role of relationship marketing programs should be reconsidered, especially in terms of customers' switching intentions. Customer satisfaction is not the key factor of predicting customers' future behavior.
