  • This experiment was conducted to find out the effects of organic materials application on the growth of peanut, yield and chemical properties in mature field and newly reclaimed upland soil. The result can be summarized as follow. 1. Application of rice straw and rice hull increased the yield of peanut in mature field and compost plot was more yield than any other plot in newly reclaimed upland soil. 2. Rice straw and rice hull plot was heavier the weight of needles per plant than compost plot in newly reclaimed soil. 3. There was high correlation between soil O.M. at flowering stage and yield in newly reclaimed upland soil but was not significant in mature field. 4. Contents of soil O.M. did not change in mature field however this was increased tendency in newly reclaimed upland soil.

  • Paticipation motivation and satisfaction were analyzed to show the relatonships with various variables, From the factor analysis, 4 dimensions of motivation were identified: activity paticipation, religious / scientific inquiry, landscape enjoymentm, and social contact. The motivation dimension, crowdness measure, and other related variables were analyzed to construct satifactrion model using multiple regression. Behavior of each variable in the model was disscussed with implications for the future research.

  • This study was intended to suggest the appropriate vegetation management methodology by analyzing phytosociology for ecotourism resources. We carried out the classification and interpretation of the vegetation structure and the analysis of the relationship between communities and environmental conditions in Pocheon valley, Mt. Gaya. The vegetation in Pocheon valley was composed of 5 communities: Pinus densiflora-Quercus mongolica community, Quercus serrata-Quercus variabilis community, Larix kaempferi-Quercus serrata community, Pinus densiflora-Castanea crenata community, and Salix gracilistyla-Phragmites japonica community. The Quercus serrata-Quercus variabilis community was further segmented into two types according to the differences of composition species and location of habitats. The methodologies that satisfy both the use of nature for ecotourism resources and the sustentation of natural vegetation are as follows: - maintenance the present vegetation (dominance species) by strictly avoiding artificial management in the tree layer; - maintenance of the existing vegetation structure through the artificial management of the usual vigorous tree species when the species in the shrub layer grow up to the subtree layer; and - continued artificial management to maintain high balanced diversity and evenness of various species in shrub and herb layers.

  • In this study the community characteristics of benthic macroinvertebrates distributed in stream of Gaya Mountain were figured out and the correlation with the physicochemical water quality factors were calculated. During the study period, total 4 phyla, 6 classes, 13 orders, 36 families, 100 species of benthic macroinvertebrates were recorded. Ephemeroptera were the most dominant followed by Trichoptera, Plecoptera, Diptera, Non-insecta, Hemiptera, and Odonata. The overall dominant species was Cincticostella levanidovae by dominance rate in 17.72%, subdominant species was Hydatophylax nigrovittatus by dominance rate in 6.15%. The biotic indices showed the diversity index 5.17, richness index 12.44, dominant index 0.24 and evenness index 0.78, there is no absolutely dominant benthic macroinvertebrates in the stream of Gaya Mountain. We identified the correlation between the species number and individuals of main taxa and the physicochemical water quality factors. Ephemeroptera and Plecoptera showed a negative correlation with water temperature, but they represented a positive correlation with the dissolved oxygen. This results suggest that water temperature and dissolved oxygen are important physicochemical water quality factors affects the distribution of Ephemeroptera and Plecoptera, the indicators of clean water stream.

  • This study analysed 7 distribution features of dominant natural vegetation, such as elevation, slope, aspect, topographic index, annual mean temperature, warmth index and potential evapotranspiration using geographic information system(GIS) in Gayasan national park. The Gayasan national park has total 128 communities in which Pinus densiflora community occupies with 29.42%, Quercus mongolica community 27.66% relatively. These two communities comprise 80.58% out of total area, considering Q. mongolica & P. densiflora dominantly mixed communities. The Q. mongolica communities range around 575~1,065m(80.4%) in elevation, and the P. densiflora communities range around 465~965m(84.1%), respectively. The slopes of those two communities areas showed over $21^{\circ}$(78.0%) and (71.3%) respectively. In terms of slope aspect occurrence, Q. mongolica communities occur mostly on northern slope, and the P. densiflora communities on southern slope. The topographic indices of both communities occur around 5~6 most frequently. The Annual mean temperature distributions of Q. mongolica and P. densiflora range $7{\sim}8^{\circ}C$(83%), $8{\sim}9^{\circ}C$(84%), respectively, And the warmth index range of Q. mongolica is $59{\sim}70^{\circ}C{\cdot}month$ and the P. densiflora community, $58{\sim}88^{\circ}C{\cdot}month$. The potential evapotranspiration ranges mostly from 560 to 590mm/yr, in Q. mongolica communities, and from 580 to 610mm/yr in P. densiflora communities.
