Modeling of Void growth in partial Frame Process (PFP성형공정의 기포성장에 관한 모델링)

  • 사출성형은 많은 장점과 유용성에도 불구하고 싱크마크나 휨과 같은 변형문제를 피 하기 어렵다. 이것은 성형품의 부위별 온도분포 및 냉각속도 차이에 의한 잔류응력에 기인 하는 것으로 구조가 복잡하거나 크기가 쿤 경우에 더욱 더 문제가 되기 쉽다. 이와 같은 문 제를 해결하기 위하여 성형품의 내부에 기포를 형성시켜 수지의 수축분을 기포의 성장으로 보상하여 주는 가스사출성형이 개발되어 많이 활용되고 있는 실정이다. 한편 일반 가스성형 과 달리 수지를 완전히 채운후 저압의 공기를 이용하여 기포를 발생시켜 수지의 체적수축분 을 보상해주는 PFP성형기술은 가스사출의 나점인 공기의 유동조절문제를 해결하고 비용이 저렴한 등의 잇점을 가지고 있다. 이 과정은 가스성형공정의 2차 침투과정과 매우 유사하나 아직까지 이에대한 이해나 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이다 본 연구는 기포의 성장이 수지의 체적수축에 의한 것이라는 가정에 근거하여 기포성장길이에 관한 모델링을 수행한 것이다. 실험결과와의 비교를 통하여 기본 가정에 대한 타당성을 검증하고 여러 인자들의 영향을 살 펴보았다. 본 연구는 PFP성형공정에 대한 이해를 증진시켜 금형설계 및 성형조건 설정에 대한 가이드라인을 제시하며 아울러 PFP공정에 대한 보다 체계적인 이해 및 일반가스성형 의 2차 침투과정 등의 관련 현상에 대한 이해 및 연구에 도움이 될것으로 기대된다.

  • In this work, we proposed the three different reactor systems for evaluating of synthetic natural gas(SNG) processes using the synthesis gas consisting of CO and $H_2$ and reactor systems to be considered are series adiabatic reaction system, series adiabatic reaction system with the recirculation and cooling wall type reaction system. The maximum temperature of the first adiabatic reactor in series adiabatic reaction system raised to 800. From the these results, carbon dioxide in product gas as compared to other systems was increased more than that expected due to water gas shift reaction(WGSR) and the maximum $CH_4$ concentration in SNG was 90.1%. In series adiabatic reaction system with the recirculation as a way to decrease the temperature in catalyst bed, the maximum $CH_4$ concentration in SNG was 96.3%. In cooling wall type reaction system, the reaction heat is absorbed by boiling water in the shell and the reaction temperature is controlled by controlling the amount of flow rate and pressure of feed water. The maximum $CH_4$ concentration in SNG for cooling wall type reaction system was 97.9%. The main advantage of the cooling wall type reaction system over adiabatic systems is that potentially it can be achieve almost complete methanation in one reactor.

Vibration characteristics of an ultrasonic waveguide for cooling (냉각용 초음파 웨이브가이드의 진동 특성)

  • Ultrasound has been widely used in various industrial fields. One of challenging application areas is cooling microelectronics. Ultrasonic cooling systems can work with air, argon (Ar) and nitrogen (N2) instead of conventional refrigerant such as freon gas, which can cause global warming. Furthermore, ultrasonic systems do not have moving parts, thus high durability can be obtained. So it is necessary to develop ultrasonic cooling systems due to environmental issues and durability points. In this paper, the design and fabrication processes are explained. When designing the system, a feasibility test was performed with a prototype cooler. Based on the result, finite element analysis with ANSYS software was performed. The predicted anti-resonance frequency for a piezoelectric actuator was 34.8 kHz, which was in good agreement with the experimental result of 34.6 kHz with 0.6% error. In addition, the predicted anti-resonance frequency for the ultrasonic waveguide was 39.4 kHz, which also agreed well with the experimental value of 39.8 kHz with 1.0% error. Based on these results, the developed ultrasonic waveguide might be applicable in microchip cooling.

Effects of Intake Gas Mixture Cooling on Enhancement of The Maximum Brake Power in a 2.4 L Hydrogen Spark-ignition Engine (수소 내연기관의 흡기 냉각 방법에 따른 최고 출력 향상에 관한 연구)

  • Since hydrogen has the lower minimum ignition energy than that of gasoline, hydrogen could be also appropriate for the IC engine systems. However, due to the low ignition energy, there might be a 'back-fire' and 'pre-ignition' problems with hydrogen SI(Spark-ignition) combustion. In this research, cooling effects of intake gas mixture on the improvement of the maximum power output were evaluated in a 2.4 L SI engine. There were two ways to cool intake gas mixtures. The first one was cooling intake fresh air by adjusting inter-cooler system after turbocharger. The other one was cooling hydrogen fuel before supplying by using heat ex-changer. Cooling hydrogen was performed under natural aspired condition. The result showed that cooling fresh air from 40 ℃ to 20~30 ℃ improved the maximum brake power up to 6.5~8.6 % and cooling hydrogen fuel as -6 ℃ enhanced the maximum brake power likewise.

Experimental Study on the Performance Characteristics of a CO2 Air-conditioning System for Vehicles (자동차용 CO2 에어컨 시스템의 성능 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, a $CO_2$ air-conditioning system was investigated with different types of electrically driven compressors, parallel flow type gas cooler, four-pass type evaporator, internal heat exchanger integrated with accumulator, and electric expansion valve. The experimental study was conducted under various operating conditions (ie., different rotational compressor speeds, air inlet temperatures and air velocity coming into heat exchangers). The experimental results showed the cooling capacity was 3.5kW at $35^{\circ}C$ ambient temperature when the vehicle was idle (ie., the worst condition for cooling off the gas cooler). In terms of performance effect of the compressor, the e-RP model had a slightly better cooling capacity and coefficient of performance than the e-GR model under the same test conditions. An experimental equation for optimum cooling-performance control was also suggested based on the results. A high-pressure control algorithm for the super critical cycle was determined to achieve both maximum cooling performance and efficient energy consumption. The results from the experimental equation coincided with those of previous experimental studies.

  • These days the closed cycle gas turbine attracts considerable attention due to : (1) The possibility of directly coupling the closed cycle gas turbine with a high temperature gas cooled reactor ; (2) the economical use of dry coolers to reduce the thermal charge of the environment ; and (3) the reduction of pollution and energy consumption, by replacing the domestic hearth by a central heating and power station. In this paper, we selected the optimal cycle from the characteristic of thermodynamic cycle for the optimal design of closed CO$_{2}$ gas turbine cycle usuable in nuclear energy power plant. Also the effects of between the parameters and thermal efficiency were investigated by computer simulation. These results and design data will be added to basics in optimal designing closed CO$_{2}$ cycle gas turbine plant.

  • We successfully completed the development test for a 10-ton thrust liquid rocket engine using LOX+LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas, or Methane) with a high performance turbopump system. Resulting from the success of the regenerative-cooling capability using LNG, high pressure-generating capability and gas-generating performance, etc, methane engine with the product name CHASE-10 will be commercialized in the near future.

The effect of subzero treatment and gas nitration on SKD11 (SKD11합금의 심냉처리와 질화처리에 대한 영향)

  • SKD11은 자이로 펌프의 로타와 붓싱 재질로 사용되는데, 자이로펌프는 임펠러의 회전이 없고 원판의 기울기 운동으로 흡입과 토출을 반복하는 고압용적식 펌프이다. 이 펌프의 내구성을 향상시키기 위하여 우수한 내압성과 내마모성을 갖는 재질선정이 요구한다. 따라서 현재 가장 널리 사용되고있는 SKD11에 심냉처리를 통하여 미세조직의 개선을 수행하였고, 가스질화처리에 의한 표면경화로 내압성과 내마모성을 증가시키고자 하였다. SKD11의 미세조직 변화를 조사하기 위하여 광학현미경과 X-선 회절기를 사용하여 미세조직 관찰과 상변화를 조사하였으며, Rockwell 경도기틀 사용하여 각 변수에 따른 경도변화를 조사하였다. 연구 결과 기지조직은 모두 마르텐사이트로 나타났으며, 이 이외에 각각의 조건에 따라 크롬탄화물, PFZ, 잔류오스테나이트가 확인되었다. SKD11을 액화질소로 냉각한 후 500℃에서의 템퍼링으로 가장 큰 경도값을 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 가스질화처리에 의하여 표면경도를 크게 증가시킬 수 있었다.

Performance Development of the Silencer for a Vortex Tube (볼텍스 튜브용 소음기 성능 개발)

  • 볼텍스 튜브란 압축가스의 흐름을 뜨거운 공기와 차가운 공기로 전환 시켜주는 냉각 장치이다. 본 논문에서는 볼텍스 튜브에서 발생되는 소음의 특성을 파악하고자 하였다. 1/2in 소음기와 3/8in 소음기는 소음기를 장착하지 않은 경우 보다 평균8~10dB 감소되었고, 1/4in 소음기는 약15dB정도 감소하였다. 출구를 가공한 1/2in 소음기의 소음은 소음기를 장착하지 않은 경우와 비슷하고 3/8in 소음기는 소음 감소폭이 적었다. 1/4in 소음기기의 소음은 압력이 커질수록 소음이 급격히 커지는 것을 알 수 있다. 기존의 소음기와 출구를 가공한 소음기를 비교 하였을 경우 1/2in 소음기에서는 평균 9dB정도 기존 소음기의 성능이 좋고, 3/8in 소음기에서는 평균 7.5dB정도 성능이 좋은 것을 알 수 있다. 1/4in 소음기에서는 평균 9.5dB정도 기존 소음기가 소음 감소폭이 크며 압력에 따른 소음의 감소폭이 차이가 큰 것을 알 수 있다.

Analysis of Pintle Tip Thermal Damage in the Combustion Hot Firing Test with a 1.5-tonf Class Liquid-Liquid Pintle Injector (1.5톤급 액체-액체 핀틀 분사기 연소시험에서의 핀틀 팁 열손상 원인 분석)

  • Using kerosene and liquid oxygen, 1.5-tonf class liquid-liquid pintle injector with rectangular two-row orifice was designed and manufactured. The combustion test of the pintle injector was carried out to verify the combustion performance and combustion stability under a supercritical condition which is the actual operation condition of the liquid rocket engine. The combustion test result showed that the pintle tip was damaged by the high temperature combustion gas in the high-mixed ratio recirculation zone of the combustion chamber. To solve this problem, the insert nozzle was installed in the pintle injector to increase cooling performance at the pintle tip. As a result of the hot firing test, installation of the insert nozzle, AR and BF had a great effect on pintle tip cooling performance.
