  • An accelerated life test (ALT) is a test method that forces components to fail more quickly than they would under use conditions by applying higher overstresses. When two or more accelerating stresses are involved in an ALT, an interaction effect may occur. In previous studies, mostly ALTs without considering an interaction of accelerated stresses and accelerated life models were proposed. The life data obtained are extrapolated using a life-stress relationship to estimate the life distribution at use conditions. We use the general log-linear relationship to model the dependence of life in the Weibull distribution on stress. Therefore, this study suggests the acceleration factor model between the lives at use conditions and accelerated conditions by using mechanical component life data considering an interaction effect. Further, the accelerated life test method and acceleration factor model proposed in this paper will be the basis for adopting an accelerated life test with accelerated stress interactions.

  • This paper proposes an IPSec accelerator performance analysis model based a queue model. It assumes Poison distribution as its input traffic load. The decoding delay is employed as a performance analysis measure. Simulation results based on the proposed model show around 15% differences with respect to actual measurements on field traffic for the BCM5820 accelerator device. The performance analysis model provides with reasonable hardware structure of network servers, and can be used to span design spaces statistically.

A Prediction Method on the Accelerometer Data of the Formation Flying Low Earth Orbit Satellites Using Neural Network (신경망 모델을 사용한 편대비행 저궤도위성 가속도계 데이터 예측 기법)

  • A similar magnitude of non-gravitational perturbations are act on the formation flying low earth orbit satellites with a certain time difference. Using this temporal correlation, the non-gravity acceleration of the low earth orbiting satellites can be transferred for the othersatellites. There is a period in which the accelerometer data of one satellite is unavailable for GRACE and GRACE-FO satellites. In this case, the accelerometer data transplant method described above is officially used to recover the accelerometer data at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). In this paper, we proposed a model for predicting accelerometer data of formation flying low earth orbit satellites using a neural network (NN) model to improve the estimation accuracy of the transplant method. Although the transplant method cannot reflect the satellite's position and space environmental factors, the NN model can use them as model inputs to increase the prediction accuracy. A prediction test of an accelerometer data using NN model was performed for one month, and the prediction accuracy was compared with the transplant method. The NN model outperformsthe transplant method with 55.0% and 40.1% error reduction in the along-track and radial directions, respectively.

  • 고성능의 3차원 그래픽 가속기 설계를 위해서는 어플리케이션, 하드웨어 구조, 수행모델 채택, 설계비용 등의 다양한 고려사항이 요구되고 따라서 각 모델에 따른 사전 시뮬레이션 환경구축은 반드시 필요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 기본적인 3차원 그래픽 파이프라인 작업을 수행하여 다양한 결과를 보여주는 이식성 높은 시뮬레이션 환경을 제공함으로써 3차원 그래픽 가속하드웨어 세부모듈 설계에 필요한 설계 고려사항을 효과적으로 제시할 수 있게 하였다.

  • In this paper we propose a motion recognition method for handheld controller 3-D acceleration signals, generated by 3 axis accelerometer in the controller, are transmitted to the computer by Bluetooth communication. We extract motion segments from continuous acceleration signals and apply to each motion model, which is trained in training phase. Hidden Markov Model was used to model each motion. We applied proposed method to three motion sets, the recognition result was good enough to practical use.

  • This paper presents a storage reliability evaluation method based on the accelerated degradation test for the engine assembly and parts of the guided missile. The test of the engine assembly is performed at accelerated conditions equivalent to the real storage period, and then the aging condition of parts is checked. For engine parts, performance degradation characteristics are measured periodically at the accelerated conditions and failure times are predicted at each condition. Storage lifetime at normal use conditions is predicted using an accelerated model and failure times at all accelerated conditions.

  • This paper presents the results of accelerated pavement tests (APT) that simulate permanent deformation (rutting) of asphalt concrete pavements under different temperatures and loading courses. Also, finite element (FE) analysis has been conducted to predict the test results. Test section for APT is the same as one of test sections at Korea Expressway Corporation test road and is subjected to a constant moving dual tire wheel load of APT at three different temperatures: 30, 40, $50^{\circ}C$. The moving wheel is applied at different loading courses within a 75cm wide wheel path to account for traffic wandering. Also, the effect of wandering on permanent deformation development is investigated numerically with three wandering schemes. In this study, ABAQUS is adopted to model APT pavement section with plain stain elements and creep strain rate model is used to take into account viscoplastic stain of asphalt concrete mixtures, and elastic layer properties are back-calculated from FWD measurements. Plus, the effect of boundary condition and subgrade on FE permanent deformation predictions is investigated. A full FE model that accounted for subgrade provided more realistic rut depth predictions, indicating subgrade has contributed to surface rutting.

열전모듈의 가속수명시험과 고장분석을 통한 신뢰도 예측

  • 본 논문에서는 가속 수명 시험을 통하여 열전소자의 수명 분포, 모수 등을 규명하였으며 고장 분석을 통하여 열전 소자의 수명 증가를 위한 대책 방안을 논의하였다. 가속 수명 시험 결과 열전 소자는 형상 모수 3,6인 Weibull 분포를 따름을 알 수 있었다. 열전 소자가 반도체 부품임에도 불구하고 형상 모수가 큰 이유는 반복 Bending에 의한 피로 파괴가 발생하기 때문임을 고장 분석을 통하여 규명하였다. 위의 고장 메커니즘을 설명할 수 있는 가속 모델식은 Coffin-Manson식으로 설명되어 질 수 있으며 가속수명시험 결과 재료 상수는 1.8임을 알 수 있었다.

  • 고압직류송전 (High Voltage Direct Current, HVDC) 시스템의 모듈형 멀티레벨 컨버터 (Modular Multilevel Converter, MMC)는 EMT (Electromagnetic Transients) 시뮬레이션으로 구현 시 많은 연산시간을 요구하므로 시간 단축을 위한 가속설계가 반드시 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 스위칭 함수를 이용한 등가 모델을 이용하여 각 암을 하나의 전압원으로 단순화하였다. 본 가속모델의 유효성을 검증하기 위해 PSCAD/EMTDC에서 제공하는 반도체 스위치를 이용한 모델과 비교하여 시뮬레이션 수행시간을 비교하였다.
