Estimation of Dynamic Interface Friction Properties of Geosynthetics (토목섬유의 동적 경계면 마찰특성 평가)

  • In this study, shaking table tests were conducted to estimate dynamic interface properties between geosynthetics such as geomembrane, geotextile and geosynthetic clay liner. Accelerations of both shaking table and upper box, and relative displacements between geosynthetics under dynamic loading were measured. Also, the influence of normal stress, frequency of excitation and dry/wet conditions were investigated through the analyses of test results. from the test results, it was found that there is a limited acceleration below which dynamic farce can be transmitted between geosynthetics without the loss of horizontal acceleration. Dynamic interface friction angle between geosynthetics could be calculated through the limited acceleration. Relative displacements induced along geosynthetic interfaces under dynamic loading were not consistent depending on the type of interface and test conditions. The maximum slip displacements between geosynthetics are normalized and normalized slip equations were developed for each interface. By using the normalized slip equation, maximum slip displacements for the geosynthetic interface could be predicted for the given base acceleration and frequency of excitation.

Vibration Serviceability Evaluation for Pedestrian of Concrete Cable-stayed Bridge by Experimental Method (실험적 방법에 의한 콘크리트 사장교의 보행자 중심 진동사용성 평가)

  • In this study, the vibration serviceability of pedestrian by travelling vehicles on the cable-stayed bridge with concrete tower was studied. Experiment variables were considered travelling speed of vehicles, pavement state of asphalt on the deck and weight of vehicles, preferentially. Especially, pavement grade states were considered by A and C grades by BMS (Bridge Management System) standard. The incremental ratio extent of vibration acceleration responses, asphalt pavement grade C over A, was construed to 1.23~1.43. Only, these results are valid within extent of the Scaled-Weight 228.0~1161.9 km/h kN. The vibration equations for acceleration responses prediction of bridge deck were proposed into three types, reliability 50%, 90%, 95% respectively. These equations can consider asphalt pavement grade, and the vehicle's weight and travelling velocity, which are the source of vibration, are combined into the term called, 'Scaled Weight'.

Prediction of Sucrose Hydrolysis Rate using Equivalent Time at A Reference Temperature under Regular Temperature Fluctuations (규칙적인 온도변화에서 표준온도 상당시간을 이용한 Sucrose 가수분해속도의 예측)

  • A simple approximate model using equivalent time at a reference temperature ($t_{eq}$) was derived to predict quality changes caused by temperature fluctuations. The validity and effectiveness of this model have been assessed with experimental data of sucrose hydrolysis. Kinetic parameters of sucrose hydrolysis were estimated by one step method using equivalent time at a reference temperature with linearly increasing temperature profile. Sucrose hydrolysis was a first order reaction, and the activation energy was 25.84 kcal/mol. The extent of sucrose hydrolysis of liquid model system under accelerated test with sinusoidal temperature fluctuations were determined. The proposed model yielded accurate prediction with the correlation coefficient in the range of $0.92{\sim}0.99$.

  • Today, many studies are progressed about source of vibration oscillator in reinforcement concrete structures. Source of vibration oscillator is load when it is happen from walking inhabitant. It is transmitted to another inhabitant through reinforcement concrete plate, and it is type of elastic wave. Those descriptions are ram wave and primary wave, secondary wave, and the are through the surface and inside plate. Analysis studies of those waves are used to piezoelectric materials. But, they are difficult to 3 axial type of transmitting elastic wave in concrete element. In this study, a fundamental study for source estimations of vibration oscillator using micro accelerometer are discussed.

Experimental Verification of a Liquid Damper with Changeable Natural Frequency for Building Response Control (고유진동수 조절이 가능한 액체댐퍼의 건물응답 제어실험)

  • This study deals with the experiments of liquid dampers with multi cells whose vertical tubes are divided into several square columns for easily changing natural frequencies. Shaking table test is performed to verify control effectiveness of the dampers which are installed on a building structure. To design liquid dampers, a 64-story building structure is reduced to a SDOF structure with 1/20 of similitude laws based on acceleration. The structure model is made up to adjust its mass and stiffness easily, with separate mass and drive parts. Mass parts indicate real structure's weights and drive parts indicate real structure's stiffness with springs and LM guides. Manufactured liquid damper has 18 cells and its natural frequency ranges are 0.65Hz to 0.81Hz. Shaking table test is carried out with one way excitation to compare with only accelerations of a large-scale structure and a structure installed with liquid dampers. Control performance of the liquid damper is expressed by the transfer function from shaking table accelerations to the large-scale structure ones. Testing results show that the liquid damper reduced a large-scale structure's response by tuned natural frequencies.

  • We calculate the theoretical line profiles in order to investigate the influence of various velocity parameters. Line profiles are calculated by using the exponential velocoty law with two acceleration regions for orbital phases $\phi$ = 0.07 and $\phi$ = 0.06. From this compttation we find that the influence of the wind velocity gradient on a giant star is more important in the region near the star than in the region away from the star. The observed lines show stronger emission than the calculated line profiles and we interpret the difference is caused by the inhomogeniety in the atmosphere of 32 Cyg.

  • As the performance of recent mobile systems increases, a vector graphic has been implemented to represent various types of dynamic menus, mails, and two-dimensional maps. This paper proposes a hardware accelerator for open vector graphics (OpenVG), which is widely used for two-dimensional vector graphics. We analyze the specifications of an OpenVG and divide the OpenVG into several functions suitable for hardware implementation. The proposed hardware accelerator is implemented on a field programmable gate array (FPGA) board using hardware description language (HDL) and is about four times faster than an Alex processor.

  • In this study, a method to enhance the dynamic range of seismic sensor is proposed. The low frequency noise included in the measurement of seismic sensor is modelled as an ARMA(Auto Regressive Moving Average) model and the order and parameters of the model are identified through system identification method. The identified noise model is augmented into Kalmman filter which estimate seismic signal from sensor measurement. The proposed method is applied to a newly developed seismic sensor which is MEMS based 3-axis accelerometer type. The experiment show that the proposed method can enhance the dynamic range compared to the simple low pass filtering.

  • 전자빔 플라즈마는 전자 소스 부분, 전자 가속 부분, 전자빔 플라즈마 생성 부분으로 구성되어 있다. Hollow cathode형태의 전극과 anode역할을 하는 안쪽 그리드로 DC방전을 일으켜 전자를 발생시키고 안쪽 그리드와 바깥쪽 그리드 사이의 전압차이로 전자를 가속시킨다. 가속된 전자는 중성 가스와 비탄성 충돌을 하게 되어 플라즈마가 생성이 된다. 이러한 방식으로 생성된 전자빔 플라즈마는 플라즈마 형성 공간에 전기장이 없어 전자가 에너지를 얻을 수 없으며, 중성가스와 비탄성 충돌로 인해 에너지를 쉽게 잃기 때문에 전자 온도가 낮게 유지가 된다. 일반적으로 바깥쪽 그리드는 접지를 시켜 전자빔 플라즈마를 발생시키지만, DC 전원을 연결하여 양의 전압을 걸어주면 전자빔 플라즈마의 밀도는 크게 변하지 않고 전자 온도가 급격히 상승하게 된다. Ar 전자빔 플라즈마의 경우 바깥쪽 그리드가 접지에 연결되었을 경우 전자 온도는 0.5eV 정도인 것에 비해 바깥쪽 그리드에 20V DC전압을 걸어주면 전자 온도가 1eV 정도로 크게 증가를 한다. 그 이유는 바깥쪽 그리드 전압의 영향으로 전자빔 플라즈마 전위가 상승하게 되고 그 결과 높은 에너지를 가진 전자가 플라즈마 전위에 갇히게 되기 때문이다.

  • 자연재해나 전쟁 등으로 인한 긴급 구호 상황에서의 환자에 대한 응급처치는 중요하다. 그러나 자연재해나 전쟁으로 인해 지면이 불균형해지면 응급 처치를 하기가 불편해진다. Absolute Table은 테이블, 자이로 센서, 가속도 센서, 초음파 센서, 스텝 모터, 모터 드라이버, 스크류와 너트, 각종 스위치들로 구성되어있다. Absolute Table의 전원을 키면 실시간으로 수평을 맞추고 유지해 평평한 작업대를 형성한다. 어떤 형태든 적용이 가능해 실시간 수평 유지 기술이 필요한 다양한 분야와 접목시킬 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.
