  • This paper concerns fast and time accurate HW/SW cosimulation for MPSoC(Multi-Processor System-on-chip) architecture where multiple software and/or hardware components exist. It is becoming more and more common to use MPSoC architecture to design complex embedded systems. In cosimulation of such architecture, as the number of the component simulators participating in the cosimulation increases, the time synchronization overhead among simulators increases, thereby resulting in low overall cosimulation performance. Although SystemC cosimulation frameworks show high cosimulation performance, it is in inverse proportion to the number of simulators. In this paper, we extend the novel technique, called virtual synchronization, which boosts cosimulation speed by reducing time synchronization overhead: (1) SystemC simulation is supported seamlessly in the virtual synchronization framework without requiring the modification on SystemC kernel (2) Parallel execution of component simulators with virtual synchronization is supported. We compared the performance and accuracy of the proposed parallel SystemC cosimulation framework with MaxSim, a well-known commercial SystemC cosimulation framework, and the proposed one showed 11 times faster performance for H.263 decoder example, while the accuracy was maintained below 5%.

  • It seems necessary to have a new methodology to develop the complex embedded system in a short time with a small amount of money and secure the reliability of products. For this in this study, the investigator presents the state-of-the-art technology with which the limitation of physical prototyping and virtual prototyping can be overcome. Also as a developing methodology of the em-bedded system in which the new technology is applied, the investigator suggests a new methodology of developing process for the integrated design, integrated simulation, and debugging of the physical prototyping and the virtual prototyping.

  • Purpose: This study aims to understand the online practice experience of nursing students through virtual simulation in order to prepare basic data for online practice program development. Methods: This study is a descriptive study that applied a qualitative thematic analysis method to explore the online practice experiences of nursing students. It was targeted to 16 students in the department of nursing at a university. Results: As a result, 5 themes such as 'Feeling ambivalent about the online practice', 'Doubts about the effectiveness of online practice', 'Running into the limits of online practice', 'Feeling like a virtual simulation as an alternative', and 'Approaching true nursing' Conclusion: Virtual simulation is considered a very effective online practice program. However, since the lack of various scenarios and cases is pointed out as a limitation, it is necessary to develop and apply more diverse and systematic practice programs in future research.

  • Realistic education using virtual reality compared to traditional learning can enhance students' understanding of knowledge through immersion and interaction. In previous studies, VR education is mainly focused on experiences, and it is difficult to find its applications for environmental education. Environmental issues are a global problem, and environmental education is essential for the future. In this research, we developed an immersive virtual reality-based environmental education simulation designed to help students recognize the importance of environmental education and participate in environmental-friendly actions. This simulation is based on the virtual ecosystem model, which maintains a casual relationship among environmental factors, spatio-temporal connection, and persistent state. Users intuitively recognize environmental problems and is motivated to solve the problem while experiencing the results of interaction related to environmental factors in virtual environment.

  • The purpose of this study is to construct a virtual reality simulation environment for searching and evaluating evaluation criteria for road safety facilities with new technologies. Virtual reality simulation requires high realism and accurate behavior data extraction. To do this, we used the Unreal Engine to create the environment by dividing it into an external environment and a vehicle environment. After that, a sample simulation for the luminescent road markers and preliminary experiments were conducted. As a result, luminescent road markers showed better 5m interval than 10m interval. It can be confirmed that it can be used in the simulation for searching the evaluation criteria for the new road safety facilities that incorporate the new technology in the future. In the future, it will be possible to simulate various environments by adding modeling and sample components for other road facilities.

  • This study examined the effect of convergence action learning based virtual simulation program for nursing college students. The study was carried out according a nonequivalent control group design. The study subjects were 54 nursing college students. The data collection period was from April 12, 2021 to June 18, 2021. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS PC+ 23.0. The experimental group had significantly different to communication skills, and clinical competency in comparison to the control group. This suggests that the convergence action learning based virtual simulation program can be applied as a way to increase nursing students' communication skills, and clinical competency.
