This study is focused on the process of a furniture design in work spaces, especially for bank interiors. Basically furniture design is consisted of two main parts of process. The first part is series of a theoritical background and the second part is a visual design process. Theoretical background contains human activities in place, antropometric data, requisite furniture type according to activities and some guidelines for design. And for the visual design process, series of sketches(theoretical background must be applied to this process), and alternatives of design was needed. Researching and applying all these factors systematically to furniture design process will lead to harmonious interiors.

[ $K\ddot{o}ln$ ] IMM (International Mobel Messe Koln) is traditionally one of the advanced Exhibitions with International Expo of Furniture in Milan. IMM is not only the furniture exhibition but also well known international event that shows novel idea and the newest trend of interior design field. This event displays from the traditional style reaches to the newest trend, and also presents the world various Interior design spectrum with the forecast of interior design industry. This study analyze out the trend of the nm in year 2004, 2005 and 2006. It analyzed each year's design with form, material, color and general feature. Thus, it suggests demanding and persistent design of modern society, This chart shows the characteristics of the furniture design from 2004 to 2006 Result of the study shows that the trend of the furniture design would be process with the relationship of simple design, multi-cultural character, and practical paradigm.

The purpose of this study is developing basic module of kitchen furniture design by considering the dimensions of work-surfaces, such as the size of worktable and the length of the kitchen furniture based on the physical size of a human scale and the behavior in the kitchen and the size of goods. In conclusion, this study develops a basic module of the kitchen furniture and suggests the new dimension for the kitchen based on the human scale and demand for the kitchen goods thus, it is expected to use it as a basic data for the kitchen space study and kitchen furniture industry.

1980년대 우리나라의 가장 대표적인 가구의 형태는 핵가족의 형태였으나 2010년을 기점으로 1,2인 가구가 핵가족의 비중을 넘어서 우리나라는 소형가구(Small-Households) 시대를 맞이하였다. 현재까지 확장적 개발 중심의 도시 개발로 인해 계속적으로 증가한 주거비용은 소형가구들의 주거생활에 어려움을 겪게 하는 요소로 작용 하고 있다. 따라서 앞으로 도시에서의 소형가구들을 위한 주거 공간이 나아가야 할 방향성을 제안한다. 본 연구는 국내, 외 선행 연구 사례와 지속 가능한 도시에 대한 이론적 고찰을 바탕으로 지속 가능성의 3요소를 소형가구의 라이프 스타일 그리고 주거 공간과 연관 지어 공간 디자인 방안을 모색한다.

Today's world situation which is changing rapidly has affected conditions of furniture industries in Korea. Apart from the governmental assistance, companies are seeking for their own way to strengthen competitiveness in the international market by using the cultural identity as value added of their products. Accordingly, this study presents a furniture design process which refers to the identity of Korean furniture based on characteristics of it's traditional style. Also it could show the way to innovate quality of export furniture products.

The plastic furniture made of new materials has enriched and broadened our everyday life not only through development of manufacture but also through consumptions since 1960′s. In relation as well to the need of reducing energy consumption and contributing to environment, the weight of plastic materials has raised concerns in recently. It should be pointed out that development of design technology, which would be risky to develop these synthetic materials was the strategic foundation of Kartell of which principal know-how with plastic techniques. Our rapidly changing lifestyle demands a new design that meet recognition of inflection. In conclusion as we are preparing to enter into the 21st Century, we should go forward with hope and do so with dispatch-dazzling all of us with boldness, thinking imaginatively, transform indifference into action, moving things to the next level in furniture industries, asking the "historic background of designing in plastic seat furniture" questions, challenging the very examples of the past in Kartell, Italy. From this study we have found that it would be useful to understand that the development of technological plastic materials for seat furniture has enabled designers to create ore and more sophisticated design in our millennium life.

지리적 위치로 인해 한국과 중국은 오랜 문화교류의 역사를 가지고 있으며, 오랜 기간의 교류를 통해 중국의 전통문화는 다양한 방식으로 한반도 선조들의 일상생활에 스며들고 있다. 중국의 전통문화 중 하나인 도교는 한반도의 삼국시대에 전파되기 시작했다. 도교가 한반도에 녹아들고 발전하면서 한반도만의 특징을 지닌 도교 문화를 형성하게 되었고, 한반도 선조들의 전통적인 이념 및 문화적 생활의 일부가 되었다. 한반도의 가구발달 과정에서 도교의 음양오행설, 풍수지리설 등 도참설(圖讖說)은 한반도 전통가구의 용도, 조형, 재질, 문양 등에 중요한 영향을 미쳤다. 조선왕조 후기는 한반도 수공업 발전의 전성기였다. 이 시기에는 가구류가 증가하여 도교적 특성이 뚜렷하고, 모양이 아름답고, 디자인이 우수하고, 용도가 다른 가구들이 많이 출현하였다. 본 연구는 조선후기 가구의 조형, 재질, 문양, 도장, 디자인 등에 대한 연구를 통하여 도교사상이 한국의 전통가구의 형태와 문양의 발전에 영향을 준 주요 요소 중의 하나임을 확인하였으며, 여러 가지 자연물이나 동식물을 가구 디자인의 문양으로 활용한 것은 가족들이 화(禍)를 피하고 하늘로부터 복(福)을 받기를 기원하는 도교의 기복(祈福)사상으로부터 영향을 받은 것임을 알 수 있었다.
