  • Recently, COVID-19 has spread and time to stay at home has been increasing in accordance with quarantine guidelines of the government such as recommendations to refrain from going out. As a result, the number of single-person households staying at home is also increasingsingle-person households are less likely to be notified to the outside world in times of emergency than multi-person households. This study collects various situations occurring in the home with lidar, image, and voice sensors and analyzes the data according to the sensors through their respective algorithms. Using this method, we analyzed abnormal patterns such as emergency situations and conducted research to detect abnormal signs in humans. Artificial intelligence algorithms that detect abnormalities in people by each sensor were studied and the accuracy of anomaly detection was measured according to the sensor. Furthermore, this work proposes a fusion method that complements the pros and cons between sensors by experimenting with the detectability of sensors for various situations.

  • In this paper, we propose an IoT based smart outlet system for one-person household with electric safety, electric energy consumption management and transmission of messages to the reserved contacts by connecting the emergency network. The proposed smart outlet system is implemented by parsing packet data and protocol between server, module, application and WiFi AP receiver. The WiFi AP built for communication can be used not only for the outlet but also for the gas barrier, the door lock and the like. In addition, the proposed method can provide the remote monitoring function by receiving the amount of power of the receptacle received through the AC current sensor (SCT-013) in real time. The smart outlet system is expected to be capable of automatically shutting off the power in case of emergency through automatic power use analysis in addition to the standby power cutoff function.

  • It is essential to make a purchase decision to make sure that the furniture matches well with other structures in the room. Moreover, in the Untact Marketing situation caused by the COVID-19 crisis, this is becoming an even more impact factor. Accordingly, methods of measuring length using AR(Augmented Reality) are emerging with the advent of AR open sources such as ARCore and ARKit for furniture arrangement interior simulation. Since this existing method using AR generates a Depth Map based on a flat camera image and it also involves complex three-dimensional calculations, limitations are revealed in work that requires the information of accurate room size using a smartphone. In this paper, we propose a method to accurately measure the size of a room using only the accelerometer and gyroscope sensors built in smartphones without using ARCore or ARKit. In addition, as an example of application using the presented technique, a method for applying a pre-designed room interior to each room is presented.

  • Since late 1960s, we have had the discourse about the way of succession of korean traditional architectural heritage. Through 60s and 70s, the formal mimesis and transformation was pretty much dominated in domestic design currents. After 80s, we could see a kind of different ways of design to deal with traditions in architectural practices. These methodology can be summarized as spatiality, abstraction and diversity. These discourses acted as bases for aesthetic and formal stream which might be needed to present the formal possibilities for various commercial needs. Especially, the interior design field utilized those ideas in order to show korean identity for the commercial needs such as korean restaurant, korean bar, or korean costume shop. Interior designers positively adapted the ideas from architectural discourse and created their own vocabulary after 90s. Before 90s, interior designers did very representational mimesis to express korean identity designing commercial facilities. However from mid 90s they could establish new tendencies in expressing korean traditional moods. These tendencies are a focus on spatial relationship, abstraction and materiality, utilization of traditional objects and lighting method.

  • Mobile Virtual Reality Head Mount Displays such as Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear VR are being released, as well as PC-based VR HMDs such as Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. However, when the user wears HMD, it hides the external view of the user. Therefore, it may happen that the user is struck by the surrounding objects such as furniture, and there is no definite solution to this problem. In this paper, we propose a method to reduce the risk of injuries by visualizing the location and information of obstacles scanned by using a RGB-D camera.

  • As the number of households with companion animals increases, the demand to monitor the health of companion animals in remote locations far away is increasing. We are going to put a wearable device on a companion animal so that it can monitor the heart beat signal from a remote location. However, the monitoring method using Bluetooth has some disadvantages. it can be accessed only in a short distances. In case of WiFi, large power consumption is the problem. To overcome these issues, we propose a system to reduce power consumption by indirectly receiving a user's request using Bluetooth at a time when the user does not need it, and sending sensor data through WiFi when the user makes a monitoring request.

  • This study is objected to investigate the repairing method and the modification period of rafters via the transformation traces left in the superciliums, where repair process takes places frequently. This is the basic research of analyzing the architectural features of Deokkeori, one of the additional-rafter methods. Deokkeori method can be described as using Deokdori in the top section of Hayeon, and placement of Sangyeon above it. This method was started to be used since middle of the Joseon dynasty period(middle 18th Century) and mainly used at 19th Century to resist the transformation caused by repairing. It had been gradually developed from non-application stage to application stage including additional usage of complement. The architectural features of Deokkeori can be categorized into four. First, the usage of Deokdori to connect Sangyeon to the top section of Hayeon. It reduct the direct connection between Sangyoen and Hayeon, therefore give constructive benefits and prevent the downfall of the eaves by increasing the power which pressing the top section of Hayeon. Second, it gives the autonomy to the inside structure of ceiling by comprising it. By using Deokdori, the limit of top section's longitude was eliminated while also simplify the upper section by blocking the inside structures with ceiling. In addition, the complements occasionally seen in several buildings increase the power which pressing Hayeon. Third, the ceiling's slope has been changed to be concerned with Sangyeon, instead of Hayeon which was highly related with it before. The last factor is the thickness of rafters which used in Deokkeori. The diameter is thiner in Sangyeon than Hayeon.

  • The number of single households in Korea has been sharply increasing due to dissolution of the family community and changes in housing culture. Therefore, there is a need to develop a plan for diagnosis of changes in the housing market in response to a rapid increase of single household to suggest a proper direction of housing policy. This study was conducted to clarify the factors influencing housing occupancy type targeting a single adult household. To accomplish this, a cross-sectional analysis was conducted using the multi-nominal logit model and the Korea Welfare Panel's 9th survey materials. Occupants of ingle households in their 20s and 30s were found to be much poorer than those in their 40s, or older. Additionally, single household in their 20s and 30s, the characteristic of a household having an influence on the choice of housing occupancy type showed a result in a different direction even from the same household characteristic of those in their 40s, or older. Finally, the characteristics of occupants of single households in their 20s and 30s showed room for improvement through public support. Overall, the results of this study implied the need to inquire into the government's periodic support in more diverse ways.
